We have also changed the Icons to better standardize by grouping them into colors. A big thanks to CJ for the new colour grouped icons. Here is an explanation of the groupings.
Update: 16:00 Thanks for all the great feedback so far. As a result of the initial wave of feedback and our teams testing, we've reduced the size of the icons to make it more in proportion with the sites design.

Another day, another little site update.
I've been working with friends Sharon from SpoilerTV and Dave from confluentforms to come up with a small change to the main site homepage to give it a little more colour/image.
The basic idea here is that on the homepage each article is represented by an image.
Eg all polls will have poll icon, reviews a review icon, movies a movie icon.. you get the picture.
We have icons currently for the followings category/labels that distinguish them uniquely.

Pilot Shows

All other icons for normal articles will have a standard default Blue "S".
As this is the first release there are bound to be some teething issues. Please leave all feedback in the comments below along with any bugs/errors especially if you see the wrong icon associate with the wrong article.
NOTE: We will be tweaking and improving the icons used over time.

ReplyDeleteThe icons look great, just a suggestion tough: how about having fixed images for certain shows ? (like showing Dean and Sam for Supernatural related articles) That way users could easier identify articles that appeal to them.

I like the idea of the icons, but they are too big IMO, it is a bit "in ya face!!!" :P
ReplyDeleteThey have different shapes and colours, so they already get our attention... that's why I think they could be circa 30% smaller in order to create na overall sleeker, cleaner look for the site.

ReplyDeleteDon't mind the icons but the size of them is too big!!! Please make them a bit smaller, cause right now the proposions of the text and icons is out of whack!!!
