I apologize for this review being late.

Last week, we found out that Lt. Spellman was the rat of the firehouse! He thought he could get away with it but there was a transfer letter at his locker, meaning that he will get the pink slip! I’m so glad he got to transfer out of the firehouse!!! Even the chief thought it would be a great idea for him to leave after Mills confronted him last week! I really thought the he was going to replace chief Boden.

Boden is at McLeod’s office and she suggests that he needs to retire by Friday without anything bad on his record so the fire house can be saved. His retirement comes after she finds out that his firehouse was the last to implement the wellness program. He leaves with a disgusted look at her and says, “Kiss my (censored)”. What a way to school McLeod!!!!

Meanwhile, Shay continues to go through a hard time and wants to get out more. Later, an idiot driver cuts her off and then Shay throws her drink in her face. Gabriella thinks Shay is still pissed at her after last week’s incident with Daryl shooting himself. Clarke, the one who we thought he was the mole actually gives some great advice to Shay. He does this because he witnesses the ladies being bitter with each other. It’s implied that she shouldn’t hold so many grudges! Shay needs to listen to him more often! In the end, she hooks up with a photographer and seems to feel better. I loved that Shay was so aggressive at the idiot driver for missing a stop sign!!!! Go Shay!!

Casey lets Heather know that the kids are doing better. I’m really glad that he let her know that the kids miss her so much. We hope we haven’t seen the last of Heather! The chemistry between her and Casey seems to blend well for me. Griffin tries to break out of his shell by asking Casey when he can stop by the firehouse. Casey replies to him, “anytime”. In the 2nd episode, Griffin wanted to go home instead of being there so I’m glad Griffin is starting to get along with him better.
Now for the biggest surprise of the episode:

McLeod has a conversation with Benny and is impressed with his enthusiasm of Firehouse 51 that she asks him to replace Boden!!!!!!! I definitely did not see this coming! It’s going to be surprising to see how this ends up! Reluctantly, Chief Boden gives his resignation papers to McLeod and it ends with Molly’s rival bar, "Game Day" being up in flames! I’m sad I have to wait a few weeks to see if Cruz got out of the fire before or after at the rival bar! Severide is shocked that his dad is taking over 51 and it is unknown what will happen next! I have to wait two weeks but I enjoyed this episode! Season 2 has improved on me from Season 1 because it has more action and better villains.

Verdict: I am very happy with Season 2 and each episode seems to get better each time! I hope the next episode that will air on November 12, will be as epic as the last few episodes.

  1. Wasn't it the rival bar that went up in flames not Molly's bar?

  3. Bringing Benny out of retirement to replace Boden is a stupid storyline. This would never actually happen (not to mention, fans of the show love Boden). If McCleod is supposed to be saving money, she is actually costing the CFD more bringing back Benny. The HR costs of bringing someone back to fireline duty, paying him and Boden's retirement makes absolutely no sense.
