FOX LOCKS UP “BROOKLYN NINE-NINE” WITH 22-EPISODE ORDER
“BROOKLYN NINE-NINE” SCORES WHEN IT JOINS “NEW GIRL” WITH ALL-NEW EPISODES FOLLOWING SUPER BOWL XLVIII SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 2, ON FOX
Next All-New Episode Airs Tuesday, October 22, on FOX
FOX has picked up nine additional episodes of the arresting new comedy BROOKLYN NINE-NINE, bringing the series to a 22-episode order, it was announced today by Kevin Reilly, Chairman of Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company. BROOKLYN NINE-NINE will join NEW GIRL in a special one-hour comedy event, airing immediately following the Super Bowl XLVIII on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014.
“It’s exciting to see that both critics and fans love BROOKLYN NINE-NINE as much as we do,” said Reilly. “With Andy and Andre out in front of this incredible ensemble, it feels like this show is going to be around for a long time.”
With its same-day viewing, DVR and VOD playback, and its streaming on www.Fox.com and www.Hulu.com, the series premiere of BROOKLYN NINE-NINE has drawn a total audience of more than 14.6 million. Through five telecasts, the comedy is averaging a 2.1/6 among Adults 18-49 with 4.9 million total viewers, according to Nielsen's most current data. BROOKLYN NINE-NINE also has the third-highest concentration of upscale viewers ($100k+ HH) of any new series so far this season and has boosted the network's averages among key male demos by +38% to +45%.
In “Halloween,” next week’s all-new episode of BROOKLYN NINE-NINE, airing Tuesday, Oct. 22 (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX, it’s Halloween night, a busy time of the year for any police precinct. Amy (Melissa Fumero) detests the holiday, and is not thrilled when she has to don a costume to go undercover on street patrol with Charles (Joe Lo Truglio). Back at the precinct, Jake (Andy Samberg) bets Captain Holt (Andre Braugher) that he can steal his Medal of Valor before midnight, which results in him bringing out some costumes of his own.
Created and written by Dan Goor (“Parks and Recreation”) and Michael Schur (“Parks and Recreation,” “The Office”) BROOKLYN NINE-NINE stars Andy Samberg as a talented, but carefree, detective and Andre Braugher as the new precinct captain with a lot to prove.

Yes and I hope FOX will announce Raising Hope will take it over. Or that Dads and RH will switch timeslots and Dads can burn off the rest of their episodes.
ReplyDeleteYou think FOX would order additional scripts and then cancel Dads before those scripts air?
ReplyDeleteThat seems unlikely to me, but not impossible I guess. I will not be shocked if it makes it to the end of its run of episodes and is not cancelled right away. The decision could even come after they see next year's new pilots...
Makes no difference to me as I do not watch it, just playing devil's advocate. }:-)
Hell yeah. I really hope FOX keeps their little cult comedy block, I love B99 and The Mindy Project is my favorite comedy right now behind P&R. Dads can go but everything else is pretty hilarious. This on top of Sleepy Hollow and the upcoming Almost Human... if FOX keeps this up they're gonna be my favorite broadcast network.
ReplyDeleteIt is possible if FOX doesn't like the scripts.
ReplyDeleteThey already did announce Raising Hope's premiere date.
ReplyDeleteHELL YEAH!!!
ReplyDeleteThe thing that may work in your favor (and in my favor in the case of B99 and New Girl) is that they are some of the most well paid shows on TV since they score so well in the very young demos (18-34) that advertisers love because they are so hard to reach. That helps their chances. I started the season thinking Mindy would be dead and I now doubt that.
ReplyDeleteI honestly can't complain much about FOX's decisions lately. The last issue I had with them was Terra Nova.
ReplyDeleteThey are my favorite two as well! (Trophy Wife also had promise but I gave up because the ratings were too low)
ReplyDeleteI doubt it. It is on the same level of ratings as B99 and TMP and it is actually a FOX production. It also has Seth attached. I mean, it could happen, but I find it hard to justify that they would just pull it when they gave B99 a full season order. I just wish they would swap B99 either with Dads or with TMP already.
ReplyDeleteI have the theory that ordering scripts has zero to do with back orders or not. It's probably some legal thing to keep the writers attached to the project. Some shows (i.e. Reign) even get more scripted before premiering, so no data yet for networks to evaluate renewal chances.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't mean they can't change the premiere night and time. Wouldn't be the first time.
ReplyDeleteThat's true, but I still think that the cancellation of Lie to Me was unforgivable.
ReplyDeleteI didn't watch it. And I can't complain there because I believe it was between Fringe and Lie to Me (and Human Target to a lower extent) and I loved Fringe, soo I will shut up now :P
ReplyDeletePeople keep sending out the line that FOX is keeping the Mindy Project show around because well..Mindy is Indian American. Diversity, pr, etc lol.
ReplyDeleteI disagree, that can be nice but it doesn't pay them money. Mindy is kept around because it brings huge ad-revenues due to its young skew.
ReplyDeletenot surprised really, well done show
ReplyDeleteYes Yes Yes!
ReplyDeleteI love this show it's my favorite new one but didn't Ben and Kate get a full season pick up and still got cancelled?
ReplyDeleteYay best new comedy!
ReplyDeletei haven't watch this show yet, might soon later, just wondering out of curiosity for now, I know its a comedy show, but do they actaully catch like murders or that's a no.
