Bones stars David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel will wed on-screen on the October 21 episode of the Fox series, but production sources say their love won’t last for long because Boreanaz is planning to quit when the season ends in May 2014!
After nine seasons on the show, “David is telling friends that it’s his last season,” a source says.
And according to the insider, it’s not a negotiating tactic.

ReplyDeleteSeeing as Hart Hanson released a statement that he has plans to get the show to 10, I don't think David would leave for that potential last season. This show has pretty much boosted his career since Angel ending and I think he would have enough respect to stay for one more season. Saying that, they'd at least ask him to stay on as part-time series regular or just decrease his screen time a lot in the first half of the season in order to continue his storyline and give Brennan a happy ending.
ReplyDeleteI can understand David wanting to leave. 9 years is a long time, and I think he'll find himself another show soon after that I'll probably follow as I have since Buffy\Angel.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea if it´s only a rumour or not, but one thing I´m sure: if he leaves, it´s also the end of the show! Bones is about Booth and Bones, I don´t think the show will survive without one of them (for me it´s like NF or SK leaving Castle, it would the end of it).

I don't get the thought process into posting something you know isn't true. At all. Did you try to contact David or Hart or anyone attached to the show before posting this? Look, I get it...if it's true, you can scoop people. But you don't have to run a fan board and deal with the fan panic ("fanic") all day from unsubstantiated and verifiable-as-wrong rumors. You have a better rep than that.

ReplyDeleteGlad to hear they are both signed through Season 10. I would hate to see this be the last season. I know it has to end sometime, but I Love this show so much, and B&B are such a great pair! They don't get a fraction of the credit they deserve for their wonderful portrayals.

ReplyDeleteHe has just confirmed during a Q&A session on Twitter that he will definitely be back for S10 if Bones is picked up. Perhaps you could do another article with this info and tweet the link it like you did with this one?
ReplyDeleteIf the world were as intelligent as you, I wouldn't worry about it. But for someone who runs a Bones fan board and has to deal with the "fan-ic" that comes with people who print unsubstantiated (and provably wrong) rumors, it's irritating as hell.
ReplyDeleteWith a five minute Google search she could have discovered that A) Boreanaz is signed for a season 10 and B) He's said in multiple interviews right before this season that he loves the show and has no plans to leave and C) Two hours before she posted this, Boreanaz tweeted that he wasn't going anywhere. This was just pure laziness on her part.
I suppose I just get tired of reading that kind of thing, especially when the site in question is usually good about knowing junk from treasure.
But he didn't actually say it, and had the writer done a simple Google search, she would have known that.
ReplyDeleteThen there wouldn't be a story for the reporter to report.Sure,its b.s.and its an easy story them to write for David started all this 2 summers ago when he tweeted and implied that he was calling it quits.Did he actually say i quit,or that this would be his last season,no,but he implied it.
