Check it: A prospective new TV pilot just landed a big-time actor as its star, but the up-and-coming producer/writer behind the future series can’t pitch it to a single network. Heck, he can’t even discuss it with anyone — and that’s because there’s a spoiler bomb embedded within the top-secret project.
You see, the headliner in question is currently starring on a popular hour-long drama series. And if word were to get out that he has committed himself to a new full-time gig, it could potentially ruin a major upcoming twist: his onscreen death.

I think it's John Francis Daley from Bones
ReplyDeleteI think it screams Damien Brody. While I am sad sine he is one of my favorite things about Homeland and I don't think the show will be the same without him, at all, I understand they cannot keep around forever.
ReplyDeleteFrom he series I watch, I don't see who else it could be.
Damien Lewis...who knows...
ReplyDeleteI very much doubt Bones would kill a series regular at this point in its life, the team is too established for that. Also, I don't think he would qualify as a "star" of the show, I think the article hints at it being a series lead.
ReplyDeleteRead an interview with Lewis the other day in The Guardian. He was expecting to be killed off at the end of season one. From the tone of the interview and his wife in a Showtime series shooting in England, you may be right.
ReplyDeleteWhat if they pilot doesn't go to series? trololol
ReplyDeleteThere were already spoilers that he is getting killed over, originally he was supposed to be killed off in the pilot. If it is him there is no need for the huge coverup.
ReplyDeleteI'm saying someone from Homeland.
ReplyDeleteI just never got how they can continue Dana, Chris & Jessica's story without Brody, so I never thought they'd cut out 4 main characters.
He's still out of a job.
ReplyDeleteI think I've heard already that it'll be Brody from Homeland. Pitty.
ReplyDeleteOkay, so he's being killed off because he got a (potential) new gig, or he got a new gig because he's being killed off?
ReplyDeleteFrom my understanding, he's getting a new job because he's being killed off.
ReplyDeleteI actually think it's David Boreanaz from Bones. His contract only runs through Season 9, and there have already been rumors that he wants to leave the show. Plus, in my opinion, the show is winding down anyways. The leads have had a baby and now, they are getting married. What more can happen?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm also going with the obvious choice and saying Damian Lewis. He's been sensational on Homeland but they've dragged his story out too long and the ripple effects are dragging the show down so far in season three. Moving on is in everyone's best interest. Good luck, Mr. Lewis.
ReplyDeleteDavid confirmed he's not leaving on Twitter, and he and Emily are both signed through season ten (which she confirmed).
ReplyDeleteIt's not David.
DAMIAN LEWIS DAMIAN LEWIS DAMIAN LEWIS DAMIAN LEWIS.
ReplyDeleteDid I mention Damian Lewis?
Wasn't Walton Goggins from Justified rumored to be up for a starring role as some kind of Texas Ranger who moves to Mexico?
ReplyDeleteFull-time means its actully a show picked up, or in the final stages of getting picked up.
ReplyDeleteIs Patrick Dempsey signed on for another seasonon 'Greys'? Only it would just be like Shonda to kill him off now he and Meredith have their longed for baby.
ReplyDeleteBrody might get killed off this season, but Damian Lewis will be too busy shooting movies to immediately sign on for a new TV show. Maybe small chance he will do it for the show shoots in England.
ReplyDeleteKevin Bacon - The following?
ReplyDelete"A prospective new TV pilot"
ReplyDeleteDoubt it. Thought I don't watch the show, I don't think they can carry the show without it.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it was just me hoping haha. I love the show, but he's my least favorite part of it.
ReplyDeleteIt's just a pilot. They don't take more than a few weeks to shoot.
ReplyDeleteHas to be Damian Lewis from Homeland, and as sad as I am that he's likely going, I think it's time. And since it's apparently going to happen soon, it makes sense too - Homeland has a knack for throwing major, season-ending plot twists halfway through a season. Also the wording of 'bomb' seems to be a bit of a clue, although could just be me reading too much into it.
ReplyDeleteLewis is not going to do a 22 episode network show right after leaving Homeland. If it was a 13 episode cable show that will shoot in the UK, I can see him doing it.
ReplyDeleteFirst, not all network shows are 22 episodes anymore. Second, this wouldn't be his first time doing a network show so obviously it's something he's been open to.
ReplyDeleteIt says right in the blind item that the creator can't even pitch it to networks or tell anyone about it yet so, whatever this is, it's not even close to a pickup anywhere.
ReplyDeleteJosh Dallas probably isn't a big enough name for this to be about him. *sigh*
ReplyDeletePlease don't be Robert Carlyle or anyone from Criminal Minds. Could be Dempsey from Grey's. Or Lewis from Homeland as everyone already suggested.
Both points are true. I just don't see him agreeing to do a TV show unless it shoots in the UK, right after leaving Homeland. He has given a few interviews about not wanting to uproot his kids and having them in the US while he films, and a film schedule is more favorable than being the lead on a series, even if is only 13 episodes a season. The guy won an Emmy and is very well known for Homeland right now, it is the perfect time to at least try to do movies for about two years and he can always sign up for a new TV show in two or three years. Kyle Chandler was one of the most in demand names for TV dramas post Friday Night Lights, but he did films for a little over two years before signing on to do a pilot for Showtime.
ReplyDeleteFair enough.
ReplyDeleteD.Lewis
ReplyDeleteRead the title and thought: it's gotta be Damian Lewis
ReplyDeleteAlthough the Homeland fan in me hopes that's not the case. Killing Brody off seems like an easy way to resolve that story.
I think you are right. It better not be Walton Goggins though, Justified will be nothing without him.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are most likely right - it´s gotta be Damian Lewis. But that means the whole Brody family has to go, right? I see no point in keeping them on this season (I really wish they did not get so much screen time), so hopefully they will be gone next season aswell as Brody.
ReplyDelete(I like Brody, just not his family)
It must be that new series Legends with Sean Bean.
ReplyDeleteEh, I think it would have to be retooled and the right writer can do that. It might even be part of the reason why Jere Burns was promoted to series regular.
ReplyDeleteHe wants to spend more time racing, so why would he leave Grey's Anatomy only to commit to another series?
ReplyDeleteThe article states it's a pilot that hasn't even been pitched to a network yet. Legends has already been ordered to series.
ReplyDeleteJust to be different and "out there" I'm going with Mark Harmon.
ReplyDeleteHe wasn't up for a role in that series, he's producing it. http://www.spoilertv.com/2013/08/gringo-cop-drama-for-walton-goggins-in.html
ReplyDeleteLOL that guy cat't survive more than a season!
ReplyDeleteWow, with NCIS LA already stating that someone leaves the Team late this season, no one is guessing it's LL Cool J or Chris O'Donnell. I'd say Eric Christian Olsen, but I don't think he'd be able to keep that a secret on Twitter this long...
