When The Flash’s alter ego Barry Allen makes his entrance on Arrow this season, he’ll make fast friends with the vigilante’s crew.
“He has a very easy relationship with Felicity, because Barry’s a forensic scientist,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed during TVLine’s visit to the CW hit’s Vancouver set. “He’s young and a little socially awkward, like she is. So there’s a lot of fun with that.”
Played by Glee‘s Grant Gustin, Barry is also a bit of a fanboy when it comes to the hooded crimefighter, despite the fact he’s a very “different character from Oliver.”
“He comes to Starling City, and he says to [Felicity], ‘I heard the vigilante saved you. What’s he like?’” previews Kreisberg. Being in the hero’s orbit is “definitely going to have an impact… because he’s seen that it’s possible to put on a mask and change the world.”
“For Barry, it’s one of those things where it’s like, ‘Be careful what you wish for,” adds Kreisberg. “In the [DC] comics themselves, Barry was a fan. If you look at Justice League, you have Superman and Aquaman and Wonder Woman…. Then you’ve got Barry Allen, who’s just a guy.”
It’s that Everyman quality that “appeals so much to [exec producer] Greg [Berlanti], [DC Comics CCO/writer] Geoff [Johns] and me,” Kreisberg says, “and it’s also why it’s a really good fit in the world of Arrow. While we’re introducing fantastical concepts to things, we also want to try to keep the show grounded and as realistic as possible.”

So the best they could do is Grant Gustin, even Felicity cant make this interesting.
ReplyDeletetrying to keep an open mind about this despite the questionable casting for Barry Allen. Wait and see I suppose
ReplyDeleteSo... Felicity is going to be publicly rescued by Arrow? And have fun awkward scenes with the to-be-flash? I keep liking what I hear about this season, from DC villains, to Laurel's agenda toSummer Glau's role.. also a Diggle-centric episode somewhere there.. will October 9th get here already?
