ReplyDeleteI really doubt that. Marvel/Disney can't use mutants because FOX owns them when it comes to movies and tv. Raina is a mutant, and a X-Men character.
ReplyDeleteThey'll probably do what they've been doing - gloss over the mutant part of the character's origin and play up the rest of it. Or use some other synonym for the word mutant...

ReplyDeleteAs for HOW - marvel trademarked term "unregistered gifted" - to circumvent the whole mutant issue with fox. So Raina will be "An unregistered gifted" instead of mutant, circumventing the mutant license issue as mutants are not even mentioned
the rights only go as far as mutant lore. not character names
ReplyDeleteIt`s the same thing im saying, and they can't use Raina if she`s a direct copy. A based on character like J. Augusts Richards-character was a Luke Cage-ish character is something else.
