    Aiden.

    - His storyline has been the weakest. His Initiative storyline has been the reason why S2 dragged on.

    - His character was built in such a way that it LIMITED Emily and it was infuriating to watch him try to control her.

    - Once he was on screen all the empowerment Emily as character has would vanish
    - His character is pretty much a gary stu stereotype.

    - On top of all that he comes off as a possessive jerk and a "controlling boyfriend" type of character and as long as he is on screen, we won't have Emily in her full glory like she was in S1.

    Daniel

  5. Aiden, didn't even have to think about it. I always felt like he was holding Emily back

  6. That's easy, Aiden. What a useless and annoying character. Besides, he seriously needs to stop with the mumbling.

  7. Anyone BUT Declan, really. I absolutely loved him. I was ready for one of the almighty Graysons to die, but I would have settled for Ashley as well. She annoys me to no end.

  8. Aiden all the way. He's been a jerk from the start, his plot line was really boring and stole focus from so much of the intrigue in the main cast. I can't even pick a unique quirk about him-he's the same old same old the whole way through. I mean, I love the writers; but this guy was the least original character thus far. Don't even get me started on how he suppressed Emily's character and was a total asshole to her. He knew where her mother was for so long without telling her...so many levels of wrong. Then he tried to replace Nolan's rightful place as her partner in crime. Not cool.

  9. Anyone but Declan. Aidan or Ashely. Both are very annoying

  10. Declan and Charlotte. They should have killed both of them. Ashley's next, but she's not going to be on the show anymore, so that's good.

  11. YES! I can't stand her! Her voice just gets on my nerves...and her acting is SO poor! The whole story is very bad.

  12. Wow, I submitted this poll ages ago, hehe. Nice to see it posted.

I voted for Daniel. So sick of his spineless, worthless, flip-flopping, easily manipulated presence on this show. He's a pawn with no agency who changes his loyalties every 5 minutes. Besides eye candy, he really doesn't add anything to the show. Ashley would've been my second choice, I'm glad she's gone.

Even though Declan's character was fairly pointless, I didn't find him as unlikable as these two, and frankly it seems he died mostly to have a "shocking" death in the finale, not because it made sense plot-wise. Also, I think they've tortured Jack a bit too much. He lost his wife and his brother in a matter of months, and his father only died 2 years ago (plus his dog one year ago, if you count that...). And learning of Emily's deception on top of everything doesn't help.

Daniel. I love aiden's character. He brings a softer side of Emily.. I totally disagree with what others have to say about aiden'n

I don't know if you know, but the whole series is about her, so if you don't like her...

  16. I would vote for danial but he's basically part of Emilys plan so I voted for aiden. He just overstayed his welcome and is basically taking away from the chemistry that Emily has with Nolan.

  17. This!!! Emily is like a supporting character when he's on screen

    ReplyDelete
  18. Then why r I watching the show Emily is basically the whole show. I disagree they could not have picked a better actor than her

  19. There's not an original character on this entire show for there to be a least.
    Heroine - Emily (check)
    Antagonist - Victoria (check)
    Nerdy sidekick - Nolan (check)
    Childhood crush - Jack (check)
Enemy's son love interest - Daniel (check)

  20. Don't worry the showrunners don't share the Aiden is useless sentiments.

  21. Here, here. And I'm still trying to understand how marriage to Daniel is retribution for what the Graysons did to David Clarke. Emily has completely lost me on that one. I just await the day when that little prick finds out the truth.

Daniel- if not Jack, jack is so annoying!

  23. I'm kind of going off on a tangent with this one, but if someone were to find out the truth about Ems, my choice would be Charlotte (even before Jack who already has). I've always liked the interaction between these two - Charlotte seems to look up to her as a big sister even without knowing they actually ARE sisters. It would be so cool if they teamed up to take down Charlotte's evil parents.
Of course, if Daniel were to find out the truth, I'm sure all he would do is go crying to mommy and daddy about how Emily hurt his feelings.

  24. Though I see your point, I do disagree. The characters may be on the whole 'stereotypes', but I think there's something usual, intriguing and unique about each of them.
Emily - a sociopath, extremely focused and rational with an exterior that comes across as cold; hell bent on her father's revenge. But she's really a highly damaged character who's lost her sense of identity. She's interesting because, though she may seem to mold into various identities like 'Emily Thorne', shifting according to the certain people - she's really just searching for herself- the real Amanda Clarke. She never really had the chance to grow up properly, so she's kind of a bit of a misfit who doesn't know anything but the bitterness that grew from her harsh circumstances. She's brilliant and confident in her revenge - but when it comes to herself I think she's rather lost.
Victoria - she's a monarch whose rule is in shambles: her marriage is rocky, her relationships with her children and friends are stained and all undstable. But as the season progresses, she moves from desperately hanging on to her power to learning to let go of it, as the foundation of the life she's built crumbles. Her witty banter with Conrad and defensive walls in contrast to her deep love and loss of David Clarke is extremely juxtaposed. We, as an audience are constantly questioning her humanity - even whilst we route for the main heroine, Emily.
The other characters you listed have these captivating depths too.
So I guess what I was trying to say is: though these characters appear stereotypical, they're really rather not. I mean, EVERY character is cliche when looking at them generally. But it's what you do with it that makes them interesting and different. They all have some really beautiful character arcs and depths that are unique and lovely to watch on screen. For Aiden I really just don't see that.

  25. Well, actually I am NOT watching this show. I did watched it in the past, but simply could not stand it. It's terrible!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Well I'm glad Declan died, he didn't bring much to the show anyway so while thats the right choice, I still would have preferred Jack to die. He's boring and every moment he's alive is another moment closer to the inevitable, boring endgame that is Jack/Emily.

  27. Okay let me go off tangent with you. I have never understood the show's insistence that Daniel is Emily's only way in to the Graysons. The minute that relationship imploded s1 finale they should have developed the sisters' relationship. The elements were already in place as you just described. But noooo we have to endure this merry-go-round w/Emily & Daniel. The only plus to this tired plot is that they didn't make her fall in love with the imbecile.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Yes Emily & Victoria have been drawn beautifully (heavily attributed to the actresses). But with any of these characters there's not much there that I haven't seen on numerous other dramas/soap operas.

  29. Seriously I hope we're done with killing off characters. There was great drama to be had w/Amanda surviving. There was still potential w/Lydia, Frank and even Gordon Murphy to come in and stir the pot and leave again. Maybe not Frank because he found out the truth but I do miss the Graysons' henchman. Tyler can stay dead and Declan could have been shipped off to college. At least Ashley won't be leaving in a bodybag.

  30. I think you need to look up what a sociopath is. Emily definitely is not one.

Flawed, yes. But not a sociopath.
