S2!!! Especially with that ending.
ReplyDeleteI'll never forget the first few minutes of Over There Part 1, I think I literally started jumping around the house when I saw the parallel universe. One of the best episode openings ever. And the finale got better and better with each minute.
ReplyDeleteI love every finale (the Twin towers, the moment when Peter was erased from time, when both Walternate and Walter shoot Olivia, the last few minutes of series finale, etc., etc.), but Over There Part 2 gets my vote.
The season three finale with that cliffhanger has a special place in my heart even though I never got over them erasing Henry... But all season finales were great.
ReplyDeleteI had trouble picking. I initially thought of Season 3's finale, so that must say something, although I can't place that as number one because, as awesome as it was, I was still apprehensive about what it meant to the show going forward. In hindsight after Season 4, the finale's ending sort of broke down for me because I felt what came after couldn't quite support the strength of Bishop Jr's disappearance.
ReplyDeleteI think Season 1's finale had the best holy heck moments, but the rest of the hour wasn't the strongest in terms of tension. The zoom out of the Twin Towers was absolutely iconic for the show (in addition to Peter's reveal), so I'd say it had the best straightforward cliffhanger.
But Season 2's ending, while not as shocking, got my vote because it wasn't just the reveal of the switch, it was how much speculation it afforded for Season 3. It was the possibilities it gave the show both plot-wise, and for the emotional character arcs that were signature to Fringe. It also had me the most excited and elicited the greatest amount of cursing of any hiatus by the time the credits rolled.
This is a hard one!
ReplyDeleteS3 finale left me shocked like never before, the series finale got me all emotional, but I had to vote for the S2 finale; epic action and a hell of a cliffhanger setting up Fringe's best season (along with the 5th in my opinion) so... had to pick that one
Season 2... it opened up so many possibilities for Season 3. It was hard picking because I liked them all, except it would have been better if Season 5 was only a season finale and not the end of the series. Miss my show :(
ReplyDeleteGotta agree here. I'm still mad they erased Henry and we never got to see a proper reunion between Fauxlivia and Peter. I think I'll go with S3 just because of Walternate. He was flawless. The confrontation with Peter. Everything was on point even though I wanted a real confrontation between Secretary Bishop/Dr Bishop and Olivia/Fauxlivia. I was more shocked when Peter disappeared that when I understood that Olivia was switched. S2 finale was amazing though. The drama, W.Bell, Olivia telling Peter he has to come back b/c he belongs with her. The Alt Verse... Oh Gosh, I miss this show... :'(
ReplyDeleteAbout the other finale, the very last scene of S1 was great but the episode wasn't amazing. S4 finale to me was Letters of Transit because I expected everything in Brave New World pt2.
And to finish, An Ennemy of Fate was beautiful. I still can't believe it's the last episode sometimes.
I loved every finale minus S4 (Letters of Transit should have been the finale). I voted for Over There. That fight scene with O^2! :D
ReplyDeleteSeason 1
ReplyDeleteSeason 5's finale. So heartfelt.
ReplyDeleteSeason 2 was the best, finding out that our Olivia was actually faux-Olivia, and right behind it was Season 1. There was such a sudden shift from the MOTW we had been seeing the rest of the season. It set me up to expect a very different tone going forward.
ReplyDeleteThis is very hard for me to pick, but i would have to go with S2. Oh man,i still cannot talk about this show....
ReplyDeleteGod, I miss Fringe.
ReplyDeletetoughie, but I had to go for S2
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking of rewatching.
ReplyDeleteGo for it! I re-watched season 1 thru 4 and I'm still picking up things i missed the first and second time around.I'll eventually get thru season 5,i just cannot bring myself to watch it yet...how silly i sound!
ReplyDeleteSeason 3 had the most riveting finale but it is tarnished by the last scene heading into the huge misstep they took in season 4.
