  1. Yes, they should be. It´s the way the show started and how it´s supposed to end.
Barney and Robin got together under weird circumstances, didn´t really wanted to be together, were and it didn´t work, and lately got together because everyone else they were dating was less appealing to them.
The only problem: The writers need to convince the audience, after so much time spent on Barney-Robin.

  2. I Think There Will Be Twist Like The Mother Passed Away And Robin And Ted Then Got Together.

    ReplyDelete
  3. I will always want them to be together.
I do like Robin and Barney too, but her chemistry and emotional connection with Ted feels so much more than with Barney.

    ReplyDelete
  4. No. That not going to happen. I'm much more curious about Ted/Mother.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Yes! They are the true love story of this show. My opinion may be unpopular but I'm going down with it. And the creator of the show has stated many times that he's sentimental about Robin and Ted, and it's the freaking final season and their story still lingers. That means something. Against all the odds, I still hope they end up together, I love their story, their chemisty and the apparent doom that surrounds their relationship. It only makes it more beautiful.

  6. This! Ted and Robin's connection is a thousand times stronger, and I never really got the Robin and Barney hype, they do nothing for me, to be honest.

  7. An d they said in the pilot Robin wasn't The Mother.

    ReplyDelete
  8. No. They've said from the beginning Robin wasn't The Mother.

This isn't the story of how Ted met the love of his life and left her for Robin. Nor is it the story of how The Mother died and Ted moved on with Robin.

  9. No, while Ted has shown he is in love with Robin and been a great boyfriend and friend. Robin hasn't shown love for Ted, sometimes it doesn't even seem like she likes him as a friend or cares anything for him. Teds deserves to have someone who loves him and I think once he meets the mother he will forget all about Robin.

We have seen throughout the show that 20 years from now he is madly in love with the mother and cares nothing romantically for robin.

  10. The writers can say whatever they want about how she wasn't The Mother from the very beginning, but I just can't get rid of the chemistry between Ted and Robin. You'd think 9 years later I might've changed my view on that, but honestly, nope, I haven't. I think they made a big mistake there. Barney and Robin getting married was not a good decision to me either, and the very first time I heard that, I gave up on the show, seeing as it was going in an entirely different direction than I wanted. I was always holding on to the thought that Ted and Robin, despite what they said, would end up together. What I've said here may be wildly unpopular, but I'm sticking to it.

  11. No. They were a nice couple back in season 2, but Robin belongs with Barney; the way Barney loves Robin is really poignant, and even though Robin may be confused at times she feels the same way for him. They love each other despite their flaws, I would even say that they come to like each others flaws or at least accept them.
I believe Ted only thinks he loves Robin because she is great and he always saw her as the mother of her kids, but deep down he knows it wouldn't work and the only reason he crawls back to her is because he is afraid of being alone, of never finding "the one" (which we know he will meet soon). Also, Robin loves Ted but as a friend, and even while she would like to be in love with Ted, as she knows he is a safe option, she can't just control the way she feels about him. Robin wants to be with Barney, she can't help it.
So, that's why Ted and Robin shouldn't be together

  12. The very reason why this poll exists is the reason why I hate the show so much now. To hell with Robin/Ted, it's been going on for WAY too long.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Reading the question made me go like: Whaaatt?!
    That's a no.

    ReplyDelete
  14. To be fair, he never said that Robin is the mother.

    ReplyDelete
  15. The poll doesn't say if you want Robin to be the mother, it just asks if you want Ted and Robin to be together.

    ReplyDelete
  16. They only way Ted and Robin could be together in the end is if The Mother dies and Robin and Barney get divorced. And even then, marrying the ex-wife of your best friend is a big no-no.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Wow, he hasn't even met the woman yet and you are already killing her off? That's cruel, hahaha.

    ReplyDelete
  18. It's how i met your mother not this is my wife. Just because you found out the wife doesn't mean they are married by series end.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I think the whole problem is not that Ted and Robin had great chemistry, but that it would have to be a PERFECT casting in order to find someone else to have even more chemistry with Ted.
That aside, Robin is gorgeous and so are most of the women Ted dated and then suddenly se settles for what Barney would probably describe as a solid 6, maybe a 7? Ane we are supposed to believe that?
I believe it would be way easier to accept it if the mother was someone we could believe Ted could look at and, just as it happened with Robin, think: WOW and then go after her, but I just can't see it happening with this mother choice.
The other problem is that they should have resolved the whole Ted-Robin feelings shennanigans a while ago for it to be belieavable that Ted is really over her. The whole locket search was a mistake IMO.
I can't say that I want Ted and Robin to be together (because we already know from the start that it's not how it goes and the whole show is based on meeting this new exciting character, the mother), what I do want is a mother that is so amazing that it could be plausible for Ted to love her more than he ever loved Robin and even though I recognize it is pretty hard to find the perfect actress for the part, I believe they messed up.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Ever Since The Start I Have Always Thought That. I Really Am Just Looking Forward To It Love This Show So Much.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Sleeping with the ex of your "best" friend either.

    ReplyDelete
  22. NO, I will never say that again after this but no. There is no way Ted and Robin will ever happen, she just doesn't love him in that way and Ted needs someone to love him back and to love. I believe The Mother will be bigger than Robin or any other woman that Ted dated because she might be a normal looking girl but that is what real life is. We never see a hot woman/man across the room and instantly want to date them that's not how life works and once Ted knows this he will move on from Robin and be happy with The Mother.

    ReplyDelete
  23. They specifically told you in the pilot that that's not how it was going to end.

    ReplyDelete
  24. No. I think the writers really messed up with the back & forth with both Robin-Ted as well as Robin-Barney. The necklace thing is idiotic, to be perfectly honest with every Ted-Robin promo I have less and less interest in tuning in & more interest in changing the channel to a different show. They wanted to extend the length of the show but all it really did is show that Robin really doesn't love either Barney or Ted as much as she loves herself. They should have definitively ended the Ted-Robin relationship earlier on. Plus it would have let us meet the mother after that relationship was clearly over & they could have begun developing her character so we could get to know the mother & really love her outside of the shadow of Robin-Ted.

    ReplyDelete
  25. No. As it's been explained - Robin is Aunt Robin to the kids, as said in the pilot and in a later episode regarding her feelings towards kids (pictures of Aunt Robin taking kids to the zoo, etc.).

What has been badly explained is Barney and Robin's love, because the writers' biggest problem is the episode that showed how bad they were for each other. Their relationship has happened very quickly. I have just found Ted's longing for Robin a little too pathetic really, and looking forward to him meeting the Mother and getting over her finally. Something that should have happened a few seasons ago

    ReplyDelete
  26. Come on, she's way better with Barney!

    ReplyDelete
  27. "And that's how I met....your Aunt Robin."

What do you call your mother? :P

    ReplyDelete
  28. Love Barney and Robin together and always will :)

    ReplyDelete
  29. While I do believe Ted needs to get Robin out of his system, Robin does not: What's the point to want to be with someone who doesn't want to be with him?

    ReplyDelete
  30. I was talking about the guy with the original comment, not what Ted said in the pilot.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I agree 100% with everything you said

    ReplyDelete
  32. No, they have a chance before and don't work, now it's time for Barney.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Never liked Ted and Robin together and I hate when he pines over her. Their friendship is where the dynamic shines, not romantically.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Robin can be together with Ted, after the mother died. The pilot doesn´t give away the ending, otherwise none of us would be watching.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Yes! The argument that Robin isn't the mother is crap, we still haven't seen how the future story ends, guys. And since everyone is so sure that Barney and Robin will be together, that's why I think the writers will surprise everyone and give us Ted and Robin. Let's be honest, the love is stronger with them, while B/R is more of a joke ship.

    ReplyDelete
  36. To be honest, there's tons more of Ted and Robin in eight seasons than the "love story" with the mother, which will have what, 20 episodes, maybe? Your argument is invalid. The show isn't also called "How I Met Your Mother and we stayed together forever", far from it.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Yes, because it's so romantic to tell your kids all how about how you met their mother and then it ended badly/sadly and then you ended up with their Aunt Robin.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yes. So unbelievably badly do I think this and wish this was happening. Love Barney, love Robin, hate them together. I think they make good bros, but as a couple they exacerbate each other's bad qualities because they are too much alike.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I think that is in the Bro Code for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  40. A zillion times agreed

    ReplyDelete
  41. Love this. Perfect description. Regardless if nothing happens between them by the end, they will remain my favorite and I stand behind the fact that their relationship, platonic or romantic, beats anything Robin/Barney has presented

    ReplyDelete
  42. Absolutely not. We've known since the pilot isn't the mother. Maybe in the early seasons when they had their initial relationship and were still around that time, I may have been alright with a twist like that. But that whole entire plotline has been diluted to hell and it is painful to watch anything Ted/Robin now.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Except he called her Aunt Robin. Weird thing for a kids to call their Step-mom.

This is a level of delusion to equal the Smallville fans, hoping against hope that Chloe and Clark would be a thing.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I honestly don´t care if they end up together. If I were you, I wouldn´t rule it out, otherwise they would have buried that topic, like they never mentioned Joey-Phoebe on friends anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Way to unnecessarily drag Chloe/Clark fans into this and calling us delusional. Douchy much?

    ReplyDelete
  46. No. Why is this even a discussion?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Have you seen the movie Definitely, Maybe?

    ReplyDelete
  48. Wow, that's still a question? I thought it was a given at this point hehe... But, yes, they should be together, IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  49. It is to crap. Don't you think Robin's children would know she isn't "Aunt Robin" if she was their mother? I mean come on now. Ted has called her "Aunt Robin" at least 50 times over the course of the series. Do you call your mother "Aunt"?

You're not loving the show so much, you're loving Ted and Robin. The show is called How I Met your Mother, and it's the story of a group of friends and how a man become the man needs to become to be ready to met the mother of their kids, who's not Robin according to the pilot and thus far he still called her the "Aunt Robin" so how do you love so much a show called "How I Met Your Mother" when you wanna kill the main premise of the show. After all this years and finally met her just to get killed at the end.

Somehow Ted owns Robin or something, is it Robin somekind of Ted property? Isn't she a human being who can decide what she do with her life or who she slept with?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Well You Make A Point But I Really Love This Show So Much So Stop Judging Ok.

That movie won't last 9 years. Making a twist in a movie is a good used resource, but after 9 years of Ted still pinning over Robin, from stalker her, being friends, dating, being a couple, being friends, friends with benefits, making a 40 years pact and then let her go like 3 times, their relationship is so damaged and that's tiresome, be obsessed with a girl for 9 years is not healthy, and there are many points the show throw at us telling why they simply won't work together. Watch the show again and you will see it.
Just enjoy the story and stop rooting for relationships that are doomed from the very beginning. This show at least is more interesting, i don't think they would pull a Friends 2.0 on the audience in the end.

There are more interesting things this show has that goes against traditional sitcom crap.

1.- A couple don't need kids to be happy
2.- A guy sees girl, he's destined to get the girl.

The writers so far have balls would they still got them until the end, we will see. IMO they would pull a LOST on us and Ted and Robin would end up together contradicting all this show has telling us for years, in episodes, on quotes and characters actions and references to the first episodes.

  54. GO DOWN LIKE TITANIC!

AUNT Robin and Uncle Barney 4 ever!

    ReplyDelete
  55. ya, because they will give us something no one but the most deluded shippers want...

    ReplyDelete
  56. Of course. I don´t get what you are referring to?

    ReplyDelete
  57. NO absolutely not!!!!! It has been clear throughout the years that for Ted the mother is the woman of his dreams!!! I never liked him with Robin plus it was cleared from the pilot tha she is not the Mother!!!The argument that the mother could be dead by series end is just wrong!!!The whole point of the show was to tell the love story between Ted and the mother!!!

    ReplyDelete
  58. What he's referring to is the fact that Robin's not this toy Ted can go and pickup anytime he want's...

    ReplyDelete
  59. Don Teofilito MelquiadezSeptember 12, 2013 at 2:54 PM

It's a love story (why am i explaining about love to a girl on 1st place), a solid 6, a 4, what the hell is that? You simply cannot judge people by their looks, i guess they make this pretty solid when Ted say that Nick was a 4 and he's a 8.5
Ted just fall in love with the mother only with the things Cindy told him about her, and she still not even met the woman. It's about personality and not looks, and Cristin is cute and gives you a sensation of tenderness. a normal girl you could date everyday.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Seriously, when did that ever happen.

Ted never used Robin like a toy. He deeply cared for, whenever she was in trouble.

He was there for her when she sad because she couldn´t conceive children anymore.

He was there when she was looking for the old locket.

He accepted, when she wasn´t able to reply his feelings.
He never used her a toy.

    ReplyDelete
  61. When he was dating Stella, he got mad at Barney because he dared to pickup "his" toy. It's not like he blackmailed her into it.

    ReplyDelete
  62. not anymore. In the first few seasons, I was rooting for them, but as soon as we saw how good of a match her and Barney were, I was over it.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Look at the poll, it's a pretty good indication of what the fans think of this glorious idea...

    ReplyDelete
  64. OMG! Only now that I read it right... I thought the question was about Barney and Robin. That's what I said what I said. Cause I think it's obvious that they should be together. Robin and Ted definitely not, IMO! Sorry about that!

    ReplyDelete
  65. OMG, I thought the question was about Barney and Robin, not Ted and her. I don't think Ted and Robin should be together, I said what I said thinking about Robin and Barney. I'm sorry about that.

    ReplyDelete

Ever since Robin was first Barney's wingwoman in Season 1 I've been rooting for them.
