The Mentalist - Season 6 - Bruno Heller Interview

Teresa’s clearly more obviously developing feelings for Patrick. How will that come into play this season?

Oh, absolutely. That’s the backbone of the show, that relationship and how they feel about each other. Just like in any real relationship over time their feelings about each other change and develop and we’ll see where that goes.

Do you have anything specific in mind for that?

Well, here’s the thing. What, when this is a question rather than an event, if and when Jane catches Red John? The reason for being in the CBI is gonna change and his whole sort of ‘What’s he gonna do with his life?,’ ‘What’s she gonna do with her life?’ [changes]. So as time rolls on, rather than them changing, life is changing, the world around them is changing, and they have to change too. And that puts them in a different relationship with each other.

  1. I really don't understand why RJ knowing who the suspects are is a big deal. He used the same process of elimination that Jane did, the main difference is that RJ knows who is and isn't well...him. He deduced the same suspects by picking the most logical people who could be RJ.

RJ is a sociopath, but from what we've seen he's a lot like Jane in that they're both very logical thinkers. It simply would not be difficult for RJ to know who the suspects are.

  3. If Kirkland is not RJ, he's gotta be an accomplice, at least.

  4. It s a big deal, because how could RJ know of all the people Jane shook hands with within a specific period of time? He would have had to have him under constant surveillance, and I mean constant, 24/7. In order to determine those 7, he would have to start with the same initial group of potential RJ suspects.

  5. I think almost all the suspects are accomplices, that would perfectly explained why they are in RJ and Jane's list.
