Unlike the previous round, most of yesterday's polls were not even close with Dean's pathos in AHBL1 toppling its opponent by a whopping 72.6%. Alas, Sam's great quote where he vows not to leave Dean got beat out by 5 votes by the angel-demon porn line, which I never expected to get this far. So sad. Coming in with 43% of the vote were Dean's Aquarius speech and Cas' perdition line. That leaves only Dean, Sam, and 1 Bobby quote left to finish the competition as seen in the polls below. We've entered the Sweet Sixteen, where only 8 quotes can move on. Make your choice and happy voting!

1. I love protective Dean with a passion but the first quote sums up the Supernatural experience in a nutshell. I simply cannot vote against it yet. It may be the single most perfect SPN quote of them all.
ReplyDelete2. No contest. I have been rooting against the WiaWSNB quote since the beginning polls. It's overly sappy and the only scene I do not like in my favorite episode of them all. If I have any chance of seeing this emoangst speech booted, this is the best shot.
3. I'm very excited that the only season 8 quote that made it this far was one of brotherly teasing but nothing from later seasons surpasses the fabulous brother moment that was "I lost my shoe."
4. Again no contest. The Mystery Spot tandem speak is another one I've rooted against since the beginning. I never saw the appeal of this juvenile humor. Again, today is the best shot to get rid of this quote since it is going against one of SPN's most classic brother sentiments. This quote even has a petition for it to come back. Hopefully that will be enough to move to the next round.
5. I love both of these quotes but for me the driver-shotgun quote defines Supernatural. It doesn't get any more classic than this one. Should be interesting to watch how this battle turns out though.
6. I will probably be in the minority on this one but fudgin' wins by a landslide here with me. I am not a huge fan of the long dissertations (except for Dean in AHBL2) and I adore this scene in A Very SPN Christmas. Long live the snark over the emoangst.
7. This one contains another quote I am rooting against. The angel and demon porn line has gotten a few rounds too far in my opinion and Bobby's awesome quote about the Winchesters being his family and heroes always resonates with me. It was such a poignant line in an excellent episode.
8. I'm going against the grain on this one and voting for the short and snarky "Clowns kill." I adore the AHBL2 scene and it is to this date the finest acting in Supernatural in my opinion. However this quote was actually an entire scene and in the spirit of "Ultimate Quote" I give it to Everybody Loves a Clown.
poll five is the hardest one i've faced in this comp. i love both too much to vote for one over the other. both are such great quotes. i wish one of these was in a different poll coz there a quite a few left that i'm not such a fan of. i guess i prefer short and snarky/funny quotes over the longer, emotional ones. but clearly thats jsut me for most of these

ReplyDeletePoll 5 was a tough one. Both are awesome. I am with you on preferring the short, snarky quotes and I would love for some of these dissertations to hit the road after today's polls. Sadly, we are in the minority. However, there are only 3 quotes I am actively rooting against right now, which is far better than I usually do.

6) Love both again but the Sam quote is getting it this time. It's one of the few times we get an insight into Sam's thoughts.
7) I go with Bobby's heart-felt words, anything with the mention of angels gets the boot for me.
8) Another difficult one but This time clowns and planes gets it, Sam's snappy reply with the 'clowns kill' was so good.

1. Oh it is starting off badly, I want to go with protective Dean, but Family Business IS the show.

3. As much as I loved the I lost my shoe and Dean's look, going with Jason Bourne, it was just to funny.
4. The pilot Jerk on this one.
5. Driver picks the music, nuff said.
6. It took me a long time to decide on this one, but went with Fudgin'.
7. No thinking on this one, Bobby and his boys win this one for me.
8. I try and NOT vote for scenes instead of quotes, so going with planes crash and clowns kill.

I tend to go for the emotional quotes so my picks were:
ReplyDelete1) Saving people, hunting things, the family business - It sums up the show and the boys!
2) Dean's speech over Sam's corpse - This was difficult b/c I love the speech at John's grave in WIAWSNB too.
3) Lost my shoe - Never been a fan of this line, but it was better than the Jason Bourne one, IMO.
4) Bitch. Jerk. - I wish the boys would do this again . . . at least just one more time before the series ends.
5) Driver picks the music - I've always like this quote, and it's much better, IMO, than the Batman line.
6) FB speech - I love that speech. It was well-delivered and heartfelt! I do like the AVSC line too.
7) Death's Door speech - I actually hated DD, and don't really care for this line from Bobby, but it is better than the H&H talk.
8) AHBL I speech - That was a good, sad moment. It's more memorable, IMO, than the other choice.
We're going to be in the minority in hoping the short quotes beat the emoangsty scenes. At least one will be out by the next time though.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't heard the "Jerk" comment since season 2, I believe. I think this WiaWSNB quote is the last time it's even referred to although it is still used in fanfiction today.
