Friday was a great day for me with only 2 quotes I dislike out of 8 going to the sweet 16. Things were overall pretty close with Dean's "screw hunting" speech from Yellow Fever losing by a mere 5 votes. Humming Metallica lost by 8 votes and drinking the liquor store received 46% of the vote. Today has some real winner quotes as well with only 3 on my blech list. Polls close at 22:00 CST. 9. No contest at all. The driver and shotgun quote is one of Supernatural's defining quotes. It doesn't get any more classic than this. The Sacrifice quote looks good on paper, but after all the junk season 8 threw at us, it faltered big time in the delivery. The words just weren't believable after all the brother junk we had to sit through.
ReplyDelete10. Two classic brother moments, both adorable. However my vote goes to WiaWSNB because it showcased how much of an alternative world they were in but how much still stayed the same, given that Sam was not going to let Dean face danger alone. Awesome quote in an awesome scene.
11. Two very long brother quotes. Each have their moments so I'll tip my hat to Sam this time.
12. Fudgin' is one of my absolute favorite quotes so even Jefferson Starships can't make me vote against it.
13. Don't get me wrong. I love pie, but this quote is nothing special compared to Bobby's great speech right before he died. They were family and that's what it's all about. One of my favorite Bobby lines!
14. The angel/demon porn conversation had its place in the beginning of this contest, but for me it hasn't earned its place this far into it. I much prefer Sam's declaration of brotherhood. It's my favorite serious Sam line.
15. Kick butt Dean towers over heartbroken and repetitive Dean every time. I actually do not like the AHBL1 quote near as much as the one in AHBL2. Frankly I am dismayed that it has made it this far, especially if it takes out one of the best purpose statements in the series. Killing SOB's is what hunting's all about.
16. The perdition quote never should have won last round so it definitely will not get my vote here. I love the "clowns kill" part of this dialogue. Kudos on the delivery that sold this and made it a SPN classic.

ReplyDeleteThe bros were too OOC from the begining to the end of Season eight for anything they said to make any kind of logical sense. Kudos to the acting though.
2) Alt universe bitch-jerk was just too funny, wins a nose ahead of Batman.
3) I love Sam's heart-felt little speech here, the sincerity that Sam puts into ithe words, and how it stops Dean from rushing into danger.
I like the other quote too but Sam wins here.
4) Fudgin' shoots down the Jefferson starships.:) Photon torpedoes away! :)
5) Bobby's quote gets it.
6) I love, love, love Sam's quote here and I dedicate it to Jeremy Carver. This is Sam, not your OOC version, sir!
7) Sam dying in Dean's arms gets me every time. I love the other quote though too;.I wish I could vote both.

Ha! We voted the exact same way this time. That's unusual. I agree that the Sam quote in #14 should have informed Jeremy Carver when he decided to butcher Sam's character this season.

ReplyDeleteI too meant to point out that the acting was good in season 8 but that the writing was so off it was unbelievable. I give all kinds of kudos to Jensen and Jared for doing what they could with that mess. I also share your sentiment in the last poll although I remain skeptical.

that are going forward I have to pick between these two! --- I picked the fudgin line
cause it's silly and short. But I'd like to officially request that Dahne swap the Starship line for
a line *I* don't like in the next round. :-D
13 - Love both but it was an easy pick. I went with Bobby's like. Mostly because it is one line.
14 - skipped this one. Just didn't want to pick either.
15 - year to live. I'm still avoiding voting for speeches.
