Supernatural - Ultimate Quote - 3C - Poll
2 Sept 2013
Polls SupernaturalHey guys, I know it's been a long time what with the Best Show Competition and me starting a new job, but it's time to get back to our quotes contest so we can finish it before season 9 begins. As always, we will work around the Best Show Competition but I think we can get pretty far pretty quickly. So here's where we left off....
Ugh, that last set was brutal! Many of my favorite quotes are gone and the two I really dislike made it to the next round. Hope your favorites are doing better. Comparatively, nothing was even close in the last round although the awkward family road trip got 44% of the vote and "fugly" got 43%. This round is interesting for me because there are 3 quotes I can't stand (1 of which will be out by next round) and 3 that I adore. Could be another painful day. Here's hoping your choices are easy and your favorites move on. (As long as they are my favorites too - just kidding.) Happy voting! Oh and for those in the US, happy Labor Day. I hope you're enjoying your holiday.
Edited to add...Since this poll is being posted early, it will also end early. Noon CST on Tuesday.
Quotes Too Long for Poll:
Poll 18 - Dean: "Sam, you and dad…you're the most important people in my life, and now…I never should have come back, Sam. It wasn't natural and now look what's come of it. I was dead and I should have stayed dead. You wanted to know how I was feeling…well that's it. So tell me, what could you possibly say to make that alright?" (Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things)
Poll 18 - Dean: "Just hold on, hold on. You seriously think that because none of it…none of it is true. Listen man, I know we've had our disagreements. Okay hell I know I've said some junk that's set you back on your heels, but Sammy come on. I killed Benny to save you. I'm willing to let this b** and all the SoB's that killed mom walk because of you. Don't you dare think that there is anything past or present that I would put in front of you. It has never been like that…ever! I need you to see that. I'm begging you." (Sacrifice)
Poll 21 - Sam: "Yeah because I've been following you around my entire life. I mean I've been looking up to you since I was 4 Dean. Studying you, trying to be just like my big brother. So yeah I know you. Better than anyone else in the entire world and this is exactly how you act when you're terrified. And I mean I can't blame you. It's just…" Dean: "What?" Sam: "It's just I wish you would drop the show and be my big brother again cuz…just cuz." (Fresh Blood)
Poll 22 - Dean: "My name is Dean Winchester. I'm an Aquarius. I enjoy sunsets, long walks on the beach, and frisky women…and I did not kill anyone, but I know who did or rather what did. Of course I can't be for sure since our investigation was interrupted, but our working theory is that we're looking for some kind of vengeful spirit. (The Usual Suspects)

1. Not even a question. Driver-shotgun is the best quote still in now that "No chick flick moments" lost. Plus I never liked the Sam dream about the woman who shot him (even if I liked Bela) nor the dumb quote.
ReplyDelete2. Neither. Absolutely dislike both.
3. How much do I wish the ones in polls 2 and 3 were switched because I love both of these quotes. Once again I'm rooting for a tie.
4. I haven't liked Batman so much since Adam West played him. The other one was funny but nothing spectacular. The Batman quote had both brothers being awesome.
5. Dueling brother awesomeness. That's unfortunate. So just going on pure emotion, my vote goes to Sam.
6. This contest is getting really difficult. Again two fabulous choices. Since I chose Sam last time, I guess this one goes to Dean.
7. Mary was a babe but she certainly doesn't beat fudgin'. I think this one will be very close but if the Very SPN Christmas line doesn't make it in, we'll have lost one that should go against the driver and shotgun quote as the ultimate quote battle.
8. "Crazy works" or Jefferson Starships. Both are equal so when I take into account "pudding" and Bobby, Bobby wins big time. Go Starships, you know you are hard to kill.
Congrats on your new job, Dahne!
ReplyDeleteThanks. It's actually the same type of job but in a different school with a more challenging setup. It's keeping me busy but I'm a lot closer to home so I'm happier.
ReplyDelete1. Driver-Shotgun, classic SPN
ReplyDelete2. The Dead should stay dead
3. Stone one and build on it..hate it is losing. That was one of my favorite scenes.
4. Batman
5. Dean not wanting Sam to turn into a monster
6. Sam and Tuesday
7. Mom's a babe..that was so funny, but will not be upset if fudgin' wins.
8. Jefferson Starships
Gosh, I am not doing very well in this poll, most of mine are losing.. :(
Thanks for this poll, had about given up on it. Glad you are closer to home and you like the new job.
ReplyDeleteBeing closer to home is always nice!
ReplyDelete3.17) 'Driver picks the music' wins for me. I really don't understand why the 'dream' scene was there at although I'm glad Sam gets to be 'happy' in his dreams at least! :)

3.18) Neither of these quotes do much for me, but I like to cast a vote so I'll give it to the first one from CSPwDT. I didn't like anything about ?Sacrifice' not even the brother exchange.
X
3.19) While I like the first quote, the second one of the aborted 'jerk-bitch' gets it. That little scene was just so funny with Sam's confusion. :)
X
3.20) Love both ,but Sam gets it. The quote is more complete and funny.
X
3.21) Another two great quotes.
I'll give it to Dean , because for him to say something like that when he had already sold his soul to keep Sam alive, had to be so heart-breaking for him..
X
3.22) I loved Dean's 'confession' , but then I liked that whole episode.
Sam's realization that it's still Tuesday is cute too though. :)
X
3.23) 'Fudging ' was just too funny and has to get my vote though young Mary really was a 'babe'.
X
3.24) Don't really like any of these two. 'Pudding' does nothing for me and I've always thought 'Jefferson Starships' while very inventive, was too much of a mouthful. If he had called them something shorter 'Ewoks or 'Droids', it would have been handier. :)

I just want to thank you for continuing with this poll.
It makes me so nostalgic for the way SPN used to be, and is an oasis in the arid desert that it has now become.
I get that last year there was an overabundance of theories woven around the spoilers that had been leaked out, --Sam not looking, Amelia, Purgatory etc, but at least there was something to discuss.
This year whether by choice or by accident ,there hasn't been a spoiler except for Castiel's future 'pooping', the occasional guest star, and the 'big' secret that will give the brothers more reason to be at each other's throats.
I hope that this is because there is going to be such a marvellous story-line for season nine that TPTB don't want to leak anything, but logic tells me that it's probably because it's going to be such a bland season that there's nothing to spoil.

I hope I'm wrong, but with such incompetent writers, one can't expect very much unfortunately.
17 - Not sure how the dream on got in myself but it has been pretty popular until going against one of the most iconic SPN quotes of all-time.
ReplyDelete18 - I liked Abaddon in Sacrifice. Yeah, that's about it.
I'm glad you enjoy the polls. It is refreshing to look back on SPN history. There was so much great there. I am choosing to believe that no news could be good news as far as season 9 goes. The very best news would be if the writers would stop devoting so much time online and use it instead tuning out the most vocal fans, watching the freaking series from the beginning, and writing a fluid, canon-embracing show Bible that no one, even Carver, can break. Then maybe they would write a season 9 that more matches Supernatural's glory years.
AMEN to the canon Bible.
ReplyDelete"He's got...Lollipop disease." NEVER MAKES IT!!
ReplyDeleteWHY? WHY? WHY?
I'm glad the bitch/ jerk got through as it's such an wonderful quote.
ReplyDeleteI thought the Sacrifice quote would have won by a bigger percentage; there are almost half of the voters that don't prefer it. Strange.
I love brother moments, even the most emo, but that was just off and unconvincing.
The dream quote has finally hit the dust, well-beated by the great 'shotgun' quote.

I agree Abbadon was the best thing about the ep but then evil is always very fascinating! Of course the angels can now be classified as evil too, but boring evil in their case!

I'm with you about the writers as well; more dedication to their work and less flitting around on twitter etc, would certainly make for better thought-out and well-written episodes.
Ha! I share your suicidal teddy bear. Sadly, nothing from Wishful Thinking made it, but then again very little from season 4 did.
ReplyDeleteI imagine the season 8 quote will go far. It was just up against a similar, emoangsty quote this time.
ReplyDeleteThe quote from Sacrifice sounds "clunky" to me. I think it's the word junk that does it for me. Quotes have to flow.
ReplyDeleteI think Crowley was much more quotable in that episode.
Too bad. Castiel and Uriel were very quotable.
ReplyDeleteJust so you know, I posted a new poll yesterday but was multitasking and posted it without the labels. Because of that I've extended the poll for another 15 hours. I realized something was wrong when I didn't see you guys commenting on it. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the whole quote was badly put together, IMO.
ReplyDeleteThey could certainly have found a better word than 'junk' to refer to all the hurtful things that have been said, but then saying that Dean ad killed Benny for Sam wasn't exactly a turn on. I t wa making ing Benny out to be this cherished person that was on a par with Sam
Your last paragraph hits it EXACTLY!
ReplyDeleteThank you, It's nice to know you agree. :)
