At least we got something during tonight's episode. Carver/Singer are extremely stingy with "Premiere Spoilers" and I doubt we'll get anything like creative "The Lucifer is Coming" style promos we had for pre-S5. At best we might see a variation of the "S8 recap" that aired at the SDCC this year.
Most handsome, charismatic, caring brothers ever. :)
I hope their awesomeness will be justly valorized in this upcoming season. Even if they are less on-screen, I hope what we do get is stellar. Well, a girl can hope, can't she! ;)
I'm actually far more excited about the sound of the early S9 spoilers we do have so far than I was at this same time last about S8; this time Jared's enthusiasm is infectious, lol - I'm crossing my fingers that the early episodes that he had such high praise for delight most fans as much as he hopes; I also hope JA gets amazing stuff to do, too, because "Dean's in the driver's seat" as far as "the secret goes" and we have OTS pics of Dean doing "dynamic activities" like joining with the female hunter presumably trying to free the captured hunters (from OTS pics of 9.02). My primary concern as is yours is if these first two episodes especially with respect to "how Bobby is 'bought back'" and "how Sam is "healed" are as "new/original" as Carver/Singer say they are.
If I hadn't seen the very poor showing the writers made of season eight, I would be more optimistic, but I don't trust these writers in the least. X
Then I would suppose that the actors are bound by contract to say nice things about the show, so I wouldn't put too much hope on what they come out with. Jensen was so enthusiastic about the Purgatory sl last year and we saw how that just fizzled out.
Jensen didn't seem to be quite as enthusiastic as his co-star this year, but only time will tell. X
However, I really hope the brothers will have great stuff to do. I really miss the epicness of the earlier seasons and I'm convinced the show could still give us so much goodness if it had creative and competent writers
For me the Purgatory part of season 8 was the best part and I could understand why Jared was not happy last year, his 7 years of story was ripped apart and thrown away. So if he is happy this year, it makes me look forward to s9.
It took Sam how long to get to the state he was in during Sacrifice? Eight episodes or so? I really hope they don't wrap it up in one shot. But a lasting effect may not be the answer as they've kind of done it before.
Maybe Sam got as close to god as Crowley got to normal?
I suppose nothing could have been worse than being forced by the writers to abbandon any search for Dean plus having to suffer through the relationship with the unpleasant Amelia; so finding out that Dean has been keeping a secret which will be the cause of another brother rift, probably seems better to Jared.
So far Carver and co. have messed up most things, so we'll just have to wait and see. X
I agree Purgatory was a good idea ( it was Sera's after all, who comes off as Shakespeare compared to Carver!); it was just badly done.
Having a sexy Dean covered in mud killing souls was the best bit, the rest not so much. Then it felt that Carver re-set everything half-way through the season ignoring all that went before, except of course to take every occasion to throw in Sam's face the factt that he didn't look.
Ooo ... that was excellent! Happily, I was wrong about an official promo, The CW aired a promo for the first two episodes last night and then today (9/11).
Oh I like what you said about the relative conditions of Crowley and Sam... the Trials were set by god and Sam was near death (and therefore 'near god') when Dean stopped him. Sam is going to be back on his feet by 9.02 but there will be a twist; I can live with it as long as Sam's healing doesn't involve 'transferring his illness' to Dean or having Dean start the hell trials himself to lift the "trial illness' from Sam.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Well, they look good.

Yeah, spoilers have been very rare ,but if it means that there is an uber-great story being hatched up, I'm great with that.
ReplyDeleteI just hope it's not because the writers have no original ideas to spoil us with.

You made me snort banana yogurt through my nose.
ReplyDeleteI sooo wish Supernatural would do a cool promo every season like they did with that folk song in season 5. O Death or something. Loved it.
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure
ReplyDeleteWell it's nice to see the CW's image campaign footage.... now if only we got show footage...
