  1. Oh, come on!

How many women is that now that have been mentioned ,and we're only at ep 8?

Carver's certainly making up for the lack of females in the past.

We were missing a chastity counsellor. Dawn Ostroff would have been proud.

    A positive----the cool title.

  4. Newsflash, Supernatural has always cast women. Been doing it since the first season, Looking back at that first season, at least half the episodes had a strong female character presence.

  6. whats with all the female character bashing on here? There are female characters in pretty much every episode of the show.
Anywho this sounds like an iteresting MOTW episode based on those little snippets, I do vaguely remember it being mentioned that Jody Mills would be back in episode 8 wonder if that is still true?

  7. Found this : To say that one is stuck "between a rock and a hard place" stresses that there are two forces which are restricting one's movement. Often it is the opposite direction of these forces that causes the sticking point. One is unable for some particular reason to do something that one would like to do, such as act or not act in a certain way. "I'd like to help you but I am stuck between a rock and a hard place." To have someone between a rock and a hard place is to have them in a position that causes them to make a choice that they don't want to make.

  8. I have no problem with female cast.On the contrary. It's just the way they describe the majority of them is as if they all are going to be used as potential love interests.I would love to see some strong female figures who are not in the episodes for the romantic element.I do want the boys to get some action,I've supported this in another post of mine but I also want some interaction that does not involve flirting and whatnot. Is that so bad??

  9. True, but in the early seasons those women were seamlessly woven into the story of the episodes.

Halley on a search with the Winchesters for her brother; Andea with Lucas; Ellen and Jo with their hunting background and part of the bros world; Meg; even Sarah Blake, Ava and Madison were women who remained in one's memory, despite their brief appearances

There are many others in later seasons too ,for example Jody Mills.

In season 8, first of the Carver era, how many of the women were memorable?

A large slice of viewers probably would like to forget about the badly written Amelia, then the whiny werewolf girl, or how about Prometheous' girlfriend. I bet nobdy even remembers their names; then the dog-girl; what was her name again?
Krissy and her band of teens were eminently forgettable. too.

I bet more people were upset with poor Sarah being killed off than with Naomi who had a much bigger screen presence. Did Naomi's death provoke the emotion of Ellen's death?

This is not a sit-com where we need to see sexy women lined up every episode.
It's supposed to be a horror genre and the women have to fit into the Winchesters' world and form a bond us the audience who watch.
Just to have the beauty of the week passing through, means nothing and that's what this long list of women we have had up till now transmits to me.

  10. It does seem like the blurbs are focusing on the female cast. I wonder if this is Carver & writers trying to answer some of the complaints from the past, that there aren't enough significant female roles.
I personally didn't agree with that complaint, though I did want the women to be present more, like Meg, Naomi, Jody, Ellen & Jo in the past.
I just hope these women are well written, and not just an obvious attempt to answer complaints.

  11. How does "chastity counselor" sound like "Love interest"? Or "teenage girl possessed by an angel"? Even Nora didn't really have anything about her character side to suggest love interest except that she was a single mom (like many other women on this show have been) and that she is potentially recurring.

We know that Dean is going to have his past fling with Robin come up, and we know that Cas is hooking up with someone, but that's two people. There's nothing to suggest that all the rest of these women are going to also be "love interests".

  12. I think something sneaky is going on.... :D :D Still think Robin is going to OUT Dean rather tha make out with Dean lol
