This is a spec whose name would easy to remember – Spec. NBC has bought the drama project, from writer Michael Alaimo (Major Crimes, The Closer) and producer Aaron Kaplan. Developed by Kaplan through his Kapital Entertainment, Spec, which is being laid off at Universal TV, centers on a mysterious alien life form recovered from a derelict spacecraft who escapes into the woods outside a small Oregon town. The show explores the characters of that town – and one family in particular – as they are forever changed by the discovery of this new visitor.

Sweet, I like the sound of this.
ReplyDeletesounds kinda interesting, kinda ET-ish
ReplyDeleteSounds Alf meets E.T. and that is pretty much the 80s to me.
ReplyDeleteI loved the movie Paul, but it was a whole diferente scenario.
Hmm. It will be interesting to see which way they go with this story. Are we supposed to be rooting for the alien or is it going to have sinister intentions?
ReplyDeleteI'd rather it had sinistre intentions but played nice. Like an evil Alf.
ReplyDeleteI would rather it be evil too. The idea of yet another corrupt government agency harming the innocent allegory does absolutely nothing for me.
ReplyDeleteET , Star Man, and Alf? Could be alright with the right cast, but there's not enough here to let us know what kind of alien story we're getting into..."Alien" or "Superman"?
ReplyDeleteHa! We had similar thoughts there with the 80's!
ReplyDeleteThat is the first thing I thought of and I LOVED ET.
ReplyDeleteAlien is still the scariest movie I have ever seen, so would be fine with that, but also loved E.T. and going that way would be ok with me also. One I would give a chance for sure.
ReplyDeleteI wish there were more shows exploring the SPACE, not the impact of alien life on EARTH. That's what... the 3rd? 4th? show with a similar premise this upcoming season? I love sci-fi but there is not one space based series at the moment. It's all earth-bound and "human" drama, not really action driven. I miss the good old days of Babylon 5 or Stargate: Atlantis...
ReplyDeleteSounds like ABC's "Invasion."
ReplyDeleteOoooookay.... I think I might need a little more information....
