  1. Whoa, that was intense! (Still don't understand why CBS started the show late and didn't cut the TBBT rerun, tbh).

Ugh, Big Jim. I hate him so much. And awww, Barbie loves Julia! Those two are moving way too fast, but they're so cute I forgive it. Angie's decision to go back to the hospital was a good one. Hopefully Junior's finally waking up to the truth.

Loved this episode! Barbie's "fuck you" to Big Jim at the end was A+. You tell him you're not guilty!

  2. I liked that radio station woman. I can't believe they killed her off. Can't wait for Big Jim to go down. He's gotta go. Definitely an intense ep. I hope the dome does something fast.

  3. Hallelujah! Junior's been Saved. He's seen the light! He's turned to the Dome for guidance! I really hope they turn him into a good guy. He knows his dad all too well, and finally, his suspicious nature is serving him. I miss Dodee. I wonder if she had put up a fight if she could have saved herself. Dodee's right, though. Big Jim is going to be the one to bring himself down, as people get to know his true nature. Great episode!

On another note, I'm at the 25% Kindle point of the book, and I recommend it to everyone. The two stories are different enough that you don't feel any repetition, just another great story.

  4. decent elements in the ep that moved the story along well enough, but some the same big things making the ep and show very frustrating: worst of is Linda continues to disappoint as a sheriff and apparent BJ lemming as she just buys into everything BJ says without even trying to be objective - she didn't even question why Joe and Norrie were locked up it's her jail, not BJ's.. oh really bad editing/writing as Barbie forced Angie to drive the ambulance with Julia away and out of sight before Linda/Phil showed up, and she put out the call before she even knew what happened...ugh, Dodie was frustrating as well as even when she heard that BJ had murdered the crazy reverend, she so easily bought into BJ's story and gave him her trust without any suspicion and paid the price... I'm glad that Barbie subtly told BJ to suck it, because if he caved to BJ's blackmail, I would've quit the show.... as it is, this show has some pretty good elements to it, but unless the finale blows me away, I might be done with the show after that. we'll see

  5. Dodie didn't believe Big Jim at all, she basically told him to go to hell before he killed her. She knew she was going to die and that she couldn't outrun him, so she looked him in the eyes and called him out on his bullshit.

Linda is much more frustrating. Sometimes I wonder if she's just pretending to go along with Big Jim. At the very least at the end she was following Joe and Norrie because she wanted answers, not because Big Jim told her to. But yeah, quite a few people seem to go along with Big Jim without any questions. Even after he told Junior that Barbie confessed, it still didn't answer his question of why they needed to bring Julia back in.

  6. my point with Dodie was she heard the murder report, fell for BJ's story about the reverend and should've been more suspicious of him because it was an obvious lie, but she "wanted to be useful" so she divulged all she knew about the egg, it's location before BJ pulled his gun and then she called him out, because it was too late and she had been played

  7. I think Dodie was trying to make Big Jim believe she believed what he was saying to save her life as with being helpfull so that he woud not kill her when that failed she told him what she tought of him that is how I saw it.

  8. that's a good point, I hadn't considered that and that makes more sense

  9. I didn't think Dodie could be this dumb, why the hell would she tell Big Jim everything? If I was her, I would run as fast as I could after finding out that Big Jim killed the reverend. But at least she told Big Jim to suck it before he killed.

Ugh, Linda continues to be stupid, buying into everything Big Jim says, and doing everything he tells her to do. At least Junior is getting suspicious of his dad.

I totally knew Barbie wouldn't plead guilty.

Big Jim is totally power crazy and unstoppable, I hope he dies in the finale, but I can't see how they get do another season without him in it.

  10. I just finished the book and I agree with you. And it is a great read.

  11. I read the books years ago. Very good read. Stephen King does best with his 1000+ pagers, I think. So many characters and journeys to follow. Always fun. I always find the journeys more exciting than the climax. That's where he usually suffers a bit imo. Anyway, I'd definitely rec it as well.

  12. I don't understand how Linda believe the Barbie Kill Dodie, is impossible because Barbie was in the hospital with Angie all the Time and Linda still believed, she don't think nothing at all. and the worst thing?? Linda believe everything that Big Jim say, Junior is more Smart that Linda, even Junior knew that Big Jim is a liar...

  13. I'm sorry to say it, but that was just not a good episode to me. This time they dragged out too many of the storylines onto next episode, and I don't like that. I like a fast pace, and so far in the series we have gotten multiple questions answered in every episode. We didn't get anything here, at all, we only saw enough of the Egg in the end to want to watch the finale. I could go on with a long list of what I thought was wrong with this episode, but in the end, I can sum it up by just saying "Can we forget any of this ep ever happened and go straight to the next ep?"

  14. You obviously couldn't have liked her that much when you can't even remember her name...

  15. Actually I thought it was not such a bad episode. Many of the events were more convincing than last episodes. Dodee's end was moving and unexpected. Carolyn is back and sceptical (both good things). The rest was quite intense. Just two things I didn't like: Linda (obviously - her role needs a makeover in season 2) and Junior finding out something's wrong (cigarette taste? come on). I'm curious about the finale.

  16. Oh god, now Linda is in the egg storyline. I just can't deal with her stupidity getting even more screentime.

  17. That cigarette thing was total crap. Angie smoked before the dome came down, hence why she had cigs to share with Barbie on day one.

  18. In the first ep, Barbie gave her a cigarette, she didn't share one with him, it was the opposite way, hence her saying "Can I bum one?" So I don't exactly know what you mean..?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Huh. Could have sworn it was the other way around. But still I maintain it was dumb, Angie could well have been a smoker but was just out of smokes that first day under the dome.

  20. Loved this episode.

but I'm so sick of Linda being so stupid. I was never a fan of her character but in the beginning she was believable now she only turns up when they need the stupidest cop ever. They have totally recked her character and she either needs major redemption or to be killed off.

I'm glad the killed off Dodee she was a horrible character and now they can spend more time on the good characters.

  21. Tried reading the book and had to restort to skimming it because it was awful. Its full of murder, sex with dead bodies, drugs, big jim goes crazy and the ending is horrible. I don't want to spoiler anything for you but its the worst possible ending. This is one of those book where stephen king shows humanity doing the worst things possible and says that humans turn into monsters.

I almost didn't watch the show because the book was so horrible but I'm glad I did because the show is a 1000 times better and I seriously doubt the show will have the same ending.

  22. I haven't seen Monday's episode yet so I'll offer my two cents on this one.
It was a definite uptick, after the last few lackluster episodes...
