I thought it was awesome!! I can't stress how much i love this show!! I laughed when there were post its everywhere so he could know what the use of everything was. But when he turned on the TV and saw Planet Of The Apes, i LOL....his reaction to how good the doughnut holes were (i was soo waiting for him to taste food in this time) was adorable and so was his reaction to the tax. His outrage was hilarious!! "We must do something!" LMAO if only that were possible. John Cho when he came to, and "saw" himself in the mirror, i laughed thinking that's gotta suck! Lol. I liked Abbey's back story and geez i wasn't even thinking about her sister still be locked away. I wonder if she visits her? Hmm One other part i loved was Ichabod and that cop, what was his name Lee? Luke? W/e Abby's ex. Aww man Ichabod held his own there was some major testosterone facial war going on there. Lol Can't wait for next week.
I loved this ep. Zombie Cho! And I really liked how they showed Ichabod trying to learn how to use modern stuff. I loved the history and the mythology. And Clancy! Great show.
I thought the second episode was as fun as the first!
I was a little put off by the ridiculous prosthetics for Officer Dunn's (Cho) broken neck, but the scene was there for comedy I guess. As was his channeling his inner Heratio Caine from CSI Miami! XD
I'm still very amused by Crane's musings about the modern world, although I worry that it might get old at some point. For now though it is very fun! XD
So anyone else think that Ichabod's cover story will be a adjunct professor of Revolutionary War history? Ahh yes, indeed! XD
to be honest Crane should almost never stop being amazed or intrigued by the modern world, that part of him should persist. since for his whole life his world was the old world.
same with in Bones, Bones whole life was being that awkward fact girl, and till now that part of her has still pours out every episode, but progress has been made
the point is when you have lived 30+ years in one way, and your suddenly forced in to a new world/ new work attitude the old ways should always remain to an extant.
while i liked the pilot quite a bit i found this second episode a bit underwhelming. it would seem, or feels, as if they filmed the pilot and then much later on filmed the 2nd episode a there seems to be a disconnect a bit and a lot of dialogue recapping of the pilot. there also seems to be a static-ness and generic tone the show has that i can't quite settle into. it could be how it is shot but much of it feels very "tee vee", on sets and lacking a good atmosphere/aesthetic.
this episode itself wasn't very gripping or interesting and the bit with the generic tunnels, gunpowder and sometimes bad CG just made for an obvious setup and weak payoff. i hope it gets better but right now it feels more like stale bread and a quirky take on an x-files type paring then anything else.
FOX give it a chance? If enough 18-49 year old watch it FOX wont have any problem keeping it around, if people dont tune in then FOX are not obligated to 'give it a chance'.
Well...pilots are filmed anywhere from March to late April/early May and production on the regular series if it's picked up doesn't start until mid to late July, sometimes the length between filming pilot and episode 2 is even greater. It's like that with any series that isn't directly picked up for a full season from the script stage.
Awesome episode. Funny and creepy, great set design, excellent writing and directing. Despite the lack of the Horsemen (aside from a dream) it was still completely excellent. Also, I ***LOVE*** the opening credits and I'm SO happy they didn't go with the common title cards that everyone uses lately.
Not as great as the pilot but good nonetheless. - Loved all the notes spread throughout Crane's hotel room and the upside shot at the beginning.
- Deformed Andy was more disturbing than it was creepy. - Having Clancy Brown and John Cho back after they died during the last episode makes me kidna worried that death will as meaningless as it is on certain other genre shows. - I'm glad to see that Katrina will be a big part of the show. It makes it easy for me not to worry about Ichabod and Abbie ending up as a couple. I kinda like the name for the good coven "Sisterhood of the Radiant Heart". Am I the only who's curious what the evil coven is called?
- I was kinda disappointed by how easily Serilda of Abaddon was defeated, thought it would take more than just setting her on fire to kill her. - Giving Ichabod a photographic memory kind of seems like lazy writing to me. I just hope they won't resort to it too much. I like the current pace of the show but the photographic memory just seems too convenient for me.
OH GOOD GOSH! I just started the ep and John Cho's return COMPLETELY FREAKED ME OUT. That is a very difficult thing to do (when bugs are not involved.)
"I will literally pay you to stop talking. - I would happily accept because I'm in need of currency."
Also, loved Crane's "won't-be-a-moment" slam on the wall. Overall, good follow-up episode. The show is awesome even after two episodes, I can't wait to see what they have in store for the rest of the season, when they establish the story and the characters even more.
The dream at the beginning/first shot of the horsemen together was great. So was Crane in the motel room and talking about taxes lol. So much to learn about the modern world.
While I can't really care about the leads yet (not enough backstory nor emotional scenes for that), the amount of lore and depth they added to the town in this episode alone is staggering and thrilling.
If there's one character that REALLY interests me currently, its Katrina - she is such a mystery, both in terms of goals AND history.
And yeah, this REALLY does feel like some of the best dark fantasy shows of 90's, ala Hex, etc, with just enough Fringe in it to make it freaky
haha I thought exactly the same about Ichabod's memory! It doesn't bother me a lot but death being not such a great deal does. Even if Ichabod's wife is a part of the show I still sense a chemistry between him and Abby so I'm not sure we'll escape the love triangle (or something like that). I agree with you about the Sherilda thing but the same way John Cho is back I'm not sure she was REALLY defeated. I really loved the hotel room scene, it was hilarious!
Loved the Pilot a little bit more than this second episode, but it was still a fantastic episode! Nice that John Cho is continuing on and glad we didn't have to wait to meet Jennifer!
Little shout out to LOST with "subterranean tunnels"?!
And nice to see that Ken Olin is back with Orci and Kurtzman!! (I was sad that his and Abram's Electropolis didn't get picked up on the CW)
Maybe it's cause I study Law, but man, do I love Icabod's outrage about the Constitution, taxes and everything modern, hahaha! And it's a very good balance to the creepy/scary stuff. I must also say special effects have been incredibly decent so far. Kudos for that.
I really like the show although I usually hate horror, but this one compels me til the last second! But one small detail though, this Abbie girl. there's this a hint of bitchiness in her general facial expression. Like, "F*** you Ichabod..." the whole time. This is my personal opinion, and yeah it's too late already, but I wish they chose another woman to be Abbie.
But the looks of things i'm guessing the naked looking Ram Creature lol has no idea that Crane and the Horsemen are linked and considered Blood Bros lol in other words if the creature wants Crane dead he will no doubtly kill the headless horsemen in the process and now there was a reason why he needed a witch lol
Secondly how stupid was the nurse really she couldn't ask her to lift up her tongue lol
Probably. I mean with The Following by 3rd episode it was already renewed for a 2nd season (never seen that before in my life, not that fast). I feel SP, is just as big!! I can't wait til we see it. And I just want to say i am PROUD that Tom is using MY term. the term i came up with right after the pilot ended. So i'm taking full credit for it. LOL Idk if it'll stick, but just as long as he heard it and said i, i'm good!!! Team ICHABBIE!! = )
Excellent episode. I enjoy the character humor between Abbie and Ichabod (taxes and human rights.....lol)! The intro of Abbie's sister (Lyndie Greenwood - Nikita/Lost Girl) reminded me of the Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) hospital scene in Terminator 2. By the way who believes "Evil Witch No. 1" is dead and gone....................me neither. Walking Dead Cho..............priceless! 4 A RIDE THAT WILL LEAVE YOU HEADLESS, I am Nobody!!!
Just because his socalled married doesn't mean he is not going to end up with Abbie as a couple. i am definitely looking at you with a side eye.Its like your looking for an excuse married right!!! when has that stopped writers creator from putting couples together, and just so we are clear the creator of the show has said it will be like (a will they won't they scenario) so you cannot rule out Ichabbie.
I certainly hope they don't ruin a great show so far by resorting to yet another will they-won't they situation that has become more tiresome with every show that goes there. There is plenty of action, mystery, and mythology to this show already without throwing in cliched plot devices.
What are you for really!!!! Is she too dark for you, maybe your looking for someone a bit lighter get the heck out of here with that comment about Abbie, she has never looked bitchy once and Nicole Behaire is the right person for the job..
I actually noticed the same thing, but more so in the pilot as I recall.
I just chalked it up to how the actress was choosing to show her disbelief and shock at the situation. Some actors give layers of subtlety, but it seems like this actress makes more obvious and one-note choices that can come off as just "bitchy" to some people.
I did not see anything regarding Nicole's race personally. We all interpret looks differently. No reason to interject race into it when it doesn't appear to be in his comment to me.
I interpreted it to her wanting to deny the supernatural in her life again after getting burned by it originally. It feels like she is transferring some of those feelings onto Ichabod and hopefully after they get rid of the soon-to-be-tiresome skeptic vs. believer chasm, I hope it will resolve her facial expressions towards him as well.
Yes, exactly, it's like she's choosing to be bitchy to react to the whole situation which might actually be something else. I know it might be too soon, it's just I wish she just accepts the truth by now, because she has seen the freaking headless horseman! But she just acted skeptical the whole time. Ichabod deserves a better partner.
I can understand that. It's just, I think it's much easier if she just could get over it by now. BTW, she's nice when she's believing, but when she's looking at Ichabod like he's crazy, that's when the bitchiness comes out.
Yeah, me too. And it would piss me off, cause I really like this show. Just so darn tired of triangles dramas! Can´t a man and a woman be friends anymore?
Right.... I see an orange in front of me, then, my mother tells me that I'm crazy and there's actually no orange in front of me... My God, my mother must be truer than what my eyes see!!
I get it, it's not as simple as an orange, it's a headless horseman. But she's a police officer (one that will get promoted that is) so she must be trained to trust her own instinct and gut. She was OK when she insisted her boss that she got to interview Ichabod in the first episode, but then, suddenly, Ichabod's crazy, I'm crazy and my boss is right...
Not sure I agree with your logic... To Ichabod, he woke up the day after he was in the field hospital.
It is not 250 years in the future to him, so his feelings would be fresh. I personally would think he would love Katrina the same way he did during his life 250 years ago.
Listen i saw that Ichabod had feeling for his wife in episode one, but since then he seems to have waived a little, sure he might mention her now and again but episode 3 made me question this when he seem to be prepared to die with Abbie in the dreamworld.
They will however as a team try to get Katrina out of the limbo world which if they manage to achieve this will be interesting.P.S love Katrina tho.
If its said enough times (there is no orange) you would eventually believe it, its like propaganda coming from the media said enough times you believe it and start to question yourself just an example, going by episode 3 i understand her misgivings..Oh and by the way she has never shown any bitchiness toward Ichabod.
The creator of the show has already confirmed it, i for one love this idea it makes the show even more interesting but as i've said before it probably won't be until around season 3 or 4.
This show would definitely not be ruined they have a huge fan base for those two and i mean huge, it might ruin the show in your eyes but not for the majority.
Personally i think any show that doesn't have any form of romance in it becomes boring.,
For example i used to watch POI religiously but stop when it got to the 2nd season why because there was sparks between the two leads but it became clear to me they were going to turn it into a guys show with no romance no sparks nothing.
I was pretty much done with the show at that point needless to say i will never watch that show again unless changes are made funny enough they seem to be losing viewers hmmm i wonder why!!!
People often confuse vocal online communities for representing the entire fandom. Sleepy Hollow, just like every other show, has more fans that do not go online about it than that do. Since there is also a large group of online fans who are not at all interested in a love triangle, even the small online minority is split. As for Person of Interest, shows typically drop year-to-year and it moved nights. I highly doubt it would suddenly raise by throwing in a love triangle.
I understand that you are excited about Ichabbie, but I am equally unexcited about it. As many times as you drop a show because it does not have romance, I probably drop 2 times as many when they go to the inevitable love triangle or will they/ won't they. We will never agree here. That however does not mean "i am definitely looking at you with a side eye." like you disrespectfully said to Little Dreamer.
His marriage died when he died 250 years ago (until death do us part) so please stop trying to use this as an excuses, Ichabod is free to move on if he wants to,
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
This show is amazing and I love it. Please get picked up for a full season.
ReplyDeleteIt's already really creepy. John Cho is freaking me ou
More Zombie Sulu please.
ReplyDeleteI think he is going to keep coming back and forth as all the other characters that are gone...looks great!
ReplyDeleteOh man,i'm loving this show!!!!! Loved when Cho came back from the dead, then was rudely interrupted.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was awesome!! ReplyDeleteI think it will be picked up for a full season. I really think we have a winner here. = )
ReplyDeleteThis show is a winner on Mondays at 9, I'm sure it will get a full season, such a funny and interesting show
ReplyDeletecreepy...
ReplyDeleteI like how clingy Icabod could get to Abbie one minute, and the next the autonomous soldier would kick in.
ReplyDeleteLove this show hope Fox give it chance
ReplyDeleteWill Keep Watching. Is that the Devil the thing that was in the mirror the thing that killed the cop then brought him back?
ReplyDeleteI loved this ep. Zombie Cho! And I really liked how they showed Ichabod trying to learn how to use modern stuff. I loved the history and the mythology. And Clancy! Great show.

another fantastic ep. the dialogue, and writing so far have been excellent as have the performances. zombie John Cho was great..

while i liked the pilot quite a bit i found this second episode a bit
ReplyDeleteunderwhelming. it would seem, or feels, as if they filmed the pilot and

For now he's just known as "The Blurry Man" but we will find out his real name in episode 4.
ReplyDeleteOH GOOD GOSH! I just started the ep and John Cho's return COMPLETELY FREAKED ME OUT. That is a very difficult thing to do (when bugs are not involved.)

Love the title sequence for this show. :D
ReplyDeleteThe dream at the beginning/first shot of the horsemen together was great. So was Crane in the motel room and talking about taxes lol. So much to learn about the modern world.
Love, love, love this show.
Icabod is so old fashioned when it comes to have a crush on somebody it actually makes sense that Abbie wouldn't notice yet.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, LOVE this show so far.

Good catch! He's such a great actor in this role, I completely forgot he also played the new Sulu.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait next week ! Lyndie Greenwood is finally on. Love her on Nikita !
ReplyDeleteI really like the show although I usually hate horror, but this one compels me til the last second! ReplyDeleteSo called married? Uhm, what? He IS married.
ReplyDeleteAnd please, pretty please, writers, I beg of you, don´t go down that road. Not another triangle drama!
If it goes down the love triangle route I am out!
ReplyDeleteYeah, me too. And it would piss me off, cause I really like this show. Just so darn tired of triangles dramas! Can´t a man and a woman be friends anymore?
ReplyDeleteHeh, shippers gonna ship.
ReplyDeleteI love platonic friendships on TV but they are so rare *sighs*
ReplyDeleteI know right? Sad.
ReplyDeleteOh, I do know that, believe me.
ReplyDeleteas far as i'm concerned she wasn't being bitchy more like weary of him, due to the fact her boss had put doubts in her head
ReplyDeleteRight.... I see an orange in front of me, then, my mother tells me that I'm crazy and there's actually no orange in front of me... My God, my mother must be truer than what my eyes see!!
ReplyDeleteI get it, it's not as simple as an orange, it's a headless horseman.

It is not 250 years in the future to him, so his feelings would be fresh. I personally would think he would love Katrina the same way he did during his life 250 years ago.
I think the skeptic versus believer schtick is getting old too. Here's hoping that after tonight's episode she will be more on board.
ReplyDeleteI second that. There very last thing TV needs is yet another tedious love triangle.
ReplyDeleteListen i saw that Ichabod had feeling for his wife in episode one, but since then he seems to have waived a little, sure he might mention her now and again but episode 3 made me question this when he seem to be prepared to die with Abbie in the dreamworld.

ReplyDeleteI guess we have to agree to disagree about Ichabod and his wife. Oh, well.
ReplyDeleteI do hope that they get her out.
The creator of the show has already confirmed it, i for one love this idea it makes the show even more interesting but as i've said before it probably won't be until around season 3 or 4.
