    I'm so pissed at the ending. I just knew Sam getting shot would make Andy go "back" to Sam and just hurt Nick. They didn't even give McCollins at chance. I felt like this season was just a tease. I got more into the show again with the undercover op, but this finale was just to damn predictable. I wish even if Andy wasn't with Nick, that they will just let her be on her own for a long while. I hope the show can redeem itself next season and make Andy a stronger female character, I felt that she was getting there before she got together with Nick and even after she got together with Nick. I felt that she made better decisions and didn't let Nick dictate the decisions she made.

    Very intense finale. I think Rookie Blue had a great season!

    I must say, i feel bad for Marlo. And omg, Nick's crying was so heartbreaking. Well, to be honest, i liked the developing of the relationship with him and Andy, but he was more into the relationship than her.

    and i knew that with Sam being shot would just bring Sam/Andy more closer in this finale, and open for a future reunion for them, and now everything is up in the air for S5.


    Oh, Gail and Holly is just too cute. The hug in the end! <3

    Damn, nine months is a long time, and i miss this show already!

    Oh man, 9 months until season 5. It's going to be a Long wait...


    Assuming Swarek makes it out of surgery will he & Andy be together now? On the same page finally & hopefully for good!
    Even though I've always been a McSwarek fan I must say props to Peter Mooney. That last scene broke my heart, watching him walk away, letting her go and then begin cry. He had to have seen it coming though? no?


    I have to say I'm a little sad to see Marlo go. I found her annoying at the beginning of the season but towards the end I really grew to like her. Glad that this season highlighted and brought awareness to mental illness.


    Love Oliver and Celery together. They're just so great!


    The Dov/Chloe/Wes storyline should be interesting. I still wonder why the writers never really finished exploring the Dov/Gail storyline but I guess that ship has sailed now that Gail's into Holly. :P


    I wish Eric Johnson/Luke would just return as a season regular already!


    Seriously though how will I wait until next summer!?

    This episode seemed to alternate between nail-biting moments and very somber moments. As many predicted, Sam getting shot would make Andy very emotional and run to his side with some kind of declaration. But the scenes that really got to me were the ones with the respective significant others: Seeing Nick crying in the end was just heartbreaking, and when Marlo emptied her locker at the end, I was almost worried that she would harm herself. I still think that they left the Nick/Andy/Sam love triangle a bit open-ended in order to gauge the reaction of viewers. Andy really hasn't had time to address how she really feels about Nick and I suspect it will be revealed more in the next season. I also don't think the writers expected there to be such a positive viewer reaction to Nick and Andy.


    Oliver surviving without major injuries was probably the biggest relief of the episode. As was Nick not getting shot. The more they focussed on Chloe, the more I realized how little I care about her character. I found the other relationships like Steve/Traci, Oliver/Celery and Gail/Holly so much more interesting than Dov and Chloe, which seemed to get the most screen time.


    The whole story surrounding the shooter's motivation was just a tragic chain of events. Not only was Marlo wrong about him, but her suspicions resulted in a neighbor assaulting him and giving him traumatic brain injury, causing all of his paranoid delusions. As soon as the brother started to discuss the dad, I figured that the brother would be the real culprit.

    I am officially DONE with the show!!! Andy is an idiot for chosing Sam after everything he did to her.
    That morning she was happy with Nick, with their mature and honest relationship , and suddenly it's over as if it didn't matter!!! I thought she had more sense than that guess I was wrong so I am done unless the writers realise that when they created McCollins that it was something perfect and make Andy realise her mistake and do bakc to Nick I am not watching it anymore!

    I'm torn about the Gail/Holly storyline because I do find them cute together and actually prefer Holly for Gail over both Chris and Nick. At the same time, it sort of closes the door on the Gail & Dov endgame that I had always been hoping for. If they had found someone more viable for Dov, I guess I'd be more OK with it, but right now, I really dislike what they're doing with Dov (the writers really don't take enough advantage of Gregory Smith's talents).

    I knew going into the episode that Andy was probably going to lean back towards Sam or be undecided, but I have to say I really didn't like the episode and while part of that's because I'm an Andy and Nick shipper, that's definitely not the only reason why I didn't like episode. In fact I think I probably could have handled the episode a lot better, but it felt like they rushed Sam and Andy in this last episode to the point where I had whiplash.


    I can appreciate a good love triangle. I definitely may not like seeing one of the people in a relationship with somebody else, but if the storytelling is good and especially if it does something like make one of the people I'm invested in grow or mature as a person I can tolerate it. But tonight I felt like all of the progress that Andy's been making since she broke up with Sam went down the drain in one fell swoop.


    She's said that wants an honest, open relationship and yes Sam did open up, but it was only one time (and once again was during a crisis-shooter on the loose). And then it was like everything that had been wrong with their relationship was forgotten when Sam was shot.


    Like I said I'd have been ok (unhappy but resigned) with her gravitating back towards Sam if it happened over a whole season or even a couple episodes, but this felt too rushed. She's been really happy with Nick, so for her to just go running back to Sam when they have so many unresolved issues just doesn't make sense. It might have made sense if she was conflicted and then next season slowly have her mend things with Sam while staying with Nick until she decides she wants to try again with him. But this felt like they had to undo her growth just to make it fit. That's what I have the biggest problem with.


    I have to say because of that I had a really hard time enjoying the episode at all. I did like that they explained that Kevin Ford was targeting cops because of a head injury and I felt really bad for Dov-I would have gone ahead with doing the surgery too. I was glad Oliver came out of the episode ok too.


    But I had a hard time seeing Andy out of character and while I was glad that Sam did seem to make some progress in wanting to see Andy happy, I couldn't help but just feel bad for Marlo who was left out in the cold in the end. And the scene with Nick at the end gutted me-I always figured he'd be the one to be hurt, but Peter killed it in that scene. It twisted my insides to watch him tell the doctors she was the one person Swarek should be with.


    I just hope that next season they don't completely undo Andy being happy and confident. And if they do push ahead with McSwarek (which seems all but certain) they better learn to be open and if it gets to be too drama filled and agnsty I'll stop watching the show-I couldn't stand that now. The only other thing I can hope for is that Nick and Andy can stay friends, which I'm pretty sure they will. Nick's the type of guy who will be there for Andy no matter what, even if it kills him.

    While there may be some upset Nick/Andy fans, I think the McSwarek fan base outweighs them by a great deal. I think they should be more concern with alienating the majority of the fans rather than the minority.

    I do agree that they moved McSwarek along quickly in this ep and it would have been nice to see a more gradual progression, however, just because Andy confessed she loves Sam does not make me think that relationship will be immediately picked up where it left off. I think we will see a slow rebuild of the relationship because a) that's how TV works, they don't want to dish out the good candy too fast, b) they built McSwarek so fast last time, without giving us the moments we all wanted to see, so I think this time they intend to do it right. I do think Andy and Nick will remain friends (it might be a little awkward for a bit) but will ultimately lead to a stronger friendship .

    Oh, I think you misread my post: I was referring to his treatment of Marlo, not Andy. for me the SamAndy stuff felt like too much too quick. and before you get all upset again, I promise you i support all three ships so my thoughts come from a place of me feeling that the characters all deserved better.

    If I was Dov I would hit Wes until he begs for his life. Geez! How selfish he is. Gosh. If the doctor says the surgery is the best chance...take it for god's sake! That part made me piss. The rest was totally predictible...the Sam/Andy part...Oliver ok. I wasnt surprised by anything.

    VERY happy with the finale…..FINALLY! Andy has never picked Sam in a finale but finally she picks him by being by his side! I loved how Sam was willing to bottle up his feelings for Andy because he thought she was happy with Nick, it's the Sam we met in S1 & S2, always putting Andy first. It's not easy for him to open up but when he does…man it pulls the heartstrings!! And boy does it mean a whole heck of a lot more BECAUSE it's not easy for him. Judging by the way Andy chased after him, it means more to her too. I loved the little things most from this ep. The way Andy kept holding his head in her hands and how she apologized to Nick for crying because she knew she wasn't able to hide her true feelings even though she should. I can't wait to see next season now and am fully invested into this show again!! I want to see Sam let go a little of the control he feels he needs to have while Andy kicks him in the ass for it. lol I want to see them learn to work together personally as well as they work together professionally. Because Sam is such a strong man I want to see Andy become a stronger woman and less wishy-washy. And I want to see some friggin' McSwarek PDA!! :) I like Nick as Andy's friend so I'm looking forward to seeing how that plays out and how Sam deals with having another of Andy's ex's walking the halls of 15. Honestly, I think Nick encouraging Andy to go to Sam is the only way they could recover his character in my eyes, so I'm glad they went that way with it. I've never seen Nick/Andy as more than friends. And IMO every lasting relationship needs passion. Sure it's important to be friends, laugh, talk, smile (all of which both relationships had) but trust me, after 12 years of marriage, passion is the spark that keeps things going. Without is, life would be boring and those are the relationships that seem to fail. Maybe that's why divorce is so high…because people are forgetting the key ingredient. The other important thing is to challenge each other, constantly living in your comfort zone is not good. You need a partner who will keep you moving forward. That's why for me there is no other alternative, McSwarek, only and forever!

    As for Gail….Andy already broke the "don't date your friends ex's" so I'm rooting to see Gail and Luke!! LOVE THEM TOGETHER!!!!

After all the trouble Marlo has caused and the lies she has told I think she deserves all of what she gets/got and more. She put everyones life in danger and I don’t recall hearing an apology once. JMO

    Totally agree with you. One second Andy was happy with Nick (kissing him at the station and telling Sam that she trusted Nick wholeheartedly - patrol car scene at the end of 4x12) and the next second she jumps back to Sam?!?! That is just wrong and shows that the whole growth she did this season went out the window instantly!!!! This season finale was the worst Rookie Blue ever had!!!! Sam is like a drug to Andy, and everybody knows that drugs eventually kill you!!!! Andy's character lost all my respect in a matter of minutes!!!

    Great finale and kudos to everyone for great acting especially Peter Mooney. I think Andy was reacting to the moment rather than a real reflection of her current state of emotion. What if it was Nick that was shot? I think she would have a similar reaction. Sam and Andy has the history an Nick and Andy is still new, they, especially Andy hasn't has a chance to process her feelings yet, but she is happy with Nick. According to Tassie, there are no plan as yet on how to proceed with the story line, and that even the writing team was divided between McSwarek and McCollins. While she said that there still unfinished business between Andy and Sam, she didn't reiterate as she often does that McSwarek is the endgame, she in fact said there door is open to McCollins! I don't know whether McCollins is a 'minority' from the various boards/youtube etc I say they are about even, but one thing for sure McCollins Season 4 has higher ratings than McSwarek's season 3!
    Anyway if you are McCollins like me, do give up, let the writing team/RB team know how much you love McCollins! Let's hope for the best when season 5 unfold! Let's hope it would be as good as this one!

    Wes was bought to the show only to separate Dov from Chloe. Dov's character become dull last episodes because he was too happy. He needs to recreate himself. (O, I'm sorry - authors need)

    Andy would have been upset if it was Nick, or any other member of the 15th. But Andy said in the ambulance that she loved Sam,she was still in love with him.I forget her exact wording but she she let him know exactly how she felt about him,there was no mistaking that for reacting to the moment... If anything this was the first time since being back where she was able to express her feelings for him,to let him know how she truly felt..



    As for what she said in the TV Guide interview,take it with a grain of salt. And i don't believe the ratings were higher just because of Nick and Andy.I think the writing and storyline had a lot to do with it,they were just apart of it..

    I have to say if you never experienced the possibility of losing the person you love,and i do mean by that person being sick,or dying then you cannot say what you would or would not feel or want to express to that person or even admit to yourself..Its life changing.

    yall are thinking too far. McSwarek didnt move quickly. this was coming since the beginning of the season, since andy and nick hooked up. Sam had soooo many moments of realization throughout this season when he saw andy and nick. Thats why he decided to let her go.. that was definitely a slow build.
    and andy didnt break up with nick, nor did he with her. it will pick up next season altho it wont be the same. McSwarek wont be a couple soon after either.

    Sam's growth was AMAZING. and it didnt surprise me either. When he told Andy that he wants her to be happy i teared up. when he said that she is happy with Nick, it almost looked like she wanted to shake her head and say "No Sam, I'm not". lol
    i am a mcSwarek fan and want them to be endgame.
    i felt sorry for nick, but he'll bounce back. its a lil unbelievable that after spending 6mths undercover that andy becomes the ONE and ONLY woman you'll ever love. she's good but not that good.
    Andy's emotions when swarek got shot were off the charts.
    Altho she is dating Nick she liked knowing Sam was always there. she looked so confused and lost when he told her that he's leaving. i believe that had Oliver's car not been in the parking lot, she would have asked him to stay.
    i dont like how they left the ending so open with Sam's status (life/death). i cant picture rookie blue without him. i jus cant see it.

    I really thought they kill off Nick but what they did do was even worse! I have never watch a TV show before and felt so heartbroken for one of the characters. I am really don't care what the do with Andy and Sam anymore, their relationship is always the same. I hoped the writers had let her grow up at the start of this season but no! The scene ambulance did nothing for me is was so predicable but we move on! If Nick is till at 15 next season I hope he is as cold as ice with Andy if he has to partner her again as most people is his situation would clear off out of it or at the very lest be as kept a safe distance way even if he loves her still. Just hope the writers have to good and happy tail next year for the others especially Nick. It's going to be so boring if all we get is about the @golden couple@.
    Just loved Nick and Andy together and I am really sorry it never got be the end game. I will keep watching although I don't think the rating will as good as this years! Hope Steve and Traci make love them too!

    It's just a tv show, you shouldn't get so up set. You know how people say you never know your true feeling for someone until its to late, I think that is what happened to Andy. Yes she may love Sam and is worried about him but I think that once she knows he is ok and she sees Nick she is going to realize she actually really cares for Nick. It's not going to be a simple as it may seem. I think love like Sam and Andy's that sets the sheets on fire will die out, but live between to friends like Nick and Andy last a life time. The writers need to let the fire die out on its own before true love can take place. IMO anyways

    That's not true, I've checked the ratings. They are slightly down from last season, which took a slight dive when things went south for McSwarek. Imagine if all McSwarek shippers quit watching....no more show.

    I loved the season finally. Finally Andy and Sam confessed to each other that they had feeling towards one another. I am so ready to see them back together. I felt really sad for Nick because he realizes that Sam owes Andy heart. I loved the way it ended so the writers left it wide open for next year. I love, love this show. Andy and Sam all the way.

    You gotta say whether ratings are down or not this McSwarek Vs McCollins has caused more hype then the previous season because there genuine competition, like was never gonna cut it!

    Iv said it before I enjoy watching McCollins but I think it was clear from the writing McSwarek was always endgame, very Meredith Grey and Derek Shepard, will they or won't they, date different ppl, a big tragedy makes them realise the

    Not a worry, I should have been a little clearer in my wording. For me, I just feel bad for Marlo because she actually has a mental illness and although she was an idiot for not taking her medication, we know that she did it because she wanted to *feel* and here she is, she completely messed up and she knows the man she loves doesn't feel the same towards her.

    But yeah at the end of the day I agree, she did endanger her colleagues and friends. It's heartbreaking. I'm just hoping Marlo wasn't simply a plot device and we'll see more of her story next season.

    I think we saw Andy is crowing up to be that kind of person that could keep Sam in line. She really stood up for herself this season by taking the lead and Sam had to follow. Kinda new setting for those two.
    I just wish they have more scenes together and we could get more Andy/Sam interaction next season.

    I am confused with all the comments, my take on this episode was different to what most people read in to it. Andy only got together with Nick because Sam had moved on, if they were meant to be they would have got together whilst undercover but Andy held out for Sam.
    Sam was only with Marlo because Andy disappeared without explanation after he told her he loved her so he kinda thought he had blown it, in a nutshell they were both in new relationships because of mis communication and both were too stubborn to admit they were wrong.
    Marlo cried because she caused all of this by coming off her meds.
    Nick was teary eyed because reality hit him and he was so close to being shot point blank and then had to take a life
    Andy cried because of the situation and she doesn't like to see people she cares about get hurt.
    This does not mean Sam and Andy are back together, just some truths have come out and next season they will need to be faced.

    If Andy doesn't want Sam - I will have him....

    I'm a Mc Swarek fan -- and there is clearly so much more to explore on the emotional side with both of them and their pasts. Collins was very noble and reacted wonderfully well but they just dont sizzle ---neither did Marlo and Sam --- he and Andy have the most amazing chemistry --- lets explore their dynamic more and allow them to steam up the screen at the same time. Together with Celery and Oliver and how both Collins and Dov handle things --- can still make an awesome story -- with loads of roads still to take. As in real life the intensity of McSwarek needs to be allowed to come through together with the challenges in sorting out the relationship long term. Sam finally takes responsibility for the part he played .. that's a big step -- especially with someone of his character. Collins is really like "the friend with benefits", very noble and sweet but Sam keeps it "primal" and so intense!

    I wonder why ppl seem to think that Sam and Andy's relationship will always be the same. Where do they base their assumption on? Sam has changed and Andy has changed so why can't their relationship change too? I think they were good together when things were fine and I want to see if they can now be good together also for the worse.

    i think he must have seen it coming! everyone at 15 knows the story of sam and andy! they always go back to each other cuz they belong to each other. i did feel bad for nick but i knew he didnt stand a chance, he is a good guy but not the guy for andy!!!!!!!!!!

    shes an idiot for choosing someone that would sacrifice his own happiness for her, he was letting her go cuz he wanted her to be happy even though it wasnt with him, sam has always been andy story and vice versa. anyone who has watched the show from the begginning has loved them together. anything thats is worth having is never easy. i wont deny that i find them frustrating and baffling at times but something bout them compells me to keep wanting more. they r truly the loves of each others lives. i think tassie sent a clear message by andy telling sam he is her story!!!!!! yeah mcswareck all the eay to endgame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    andy and sam have progressed over 4 seasons. its nick and andy who were rushed, one minute hes with gail and shes pining for sam the next minute there in bed together. andy didnt want to admit she was even with nick to chloe, she knew they were just bed buddies. nick was only a distraction to take her mind off sam and try to move on. clearly that did not work, when sam got hurt her true feelings came out. as she clearly stated noone has never made her feel more loved and he is her story, if that isnt clear to the mcollns shippers then their is a word we call denail!!!!!!!!!!!!

    i agree make them work towards a more healthy relaionship. sam admited he screwed up and i think he knows he needs to open up and be a diffrent man. when u have to struggle to achieve something you r les likely to take it for granted

    I did watch the show from the begining and I used to be a McSwarek fan!!! I swichted to McCollins cause what they had was a real, mature, grown up relationship based on trust and honesty not just chemistry like it was with Sam!!!

    I'll admit that I'm an andy and mcswarek fan but thats not the only reason I disliked this season. I disliked Marlo and Chole. I wish that this season had spent more time on the main cast and that Noelo came back. I don't like Peck's brother, disliked the whole predictable mess with Chris's son and don't like Peck being a lesbain out of the blue.

    I hope they don't jump forward 6 months but actually follow this story line. It would be good to see how Sam and Andy repair their relationship and how Sam recovers. Maybe bring in Sam's family? I don't normally wish time to fly by by I hope the next nine months go quickly

    Me too! It would be such disservice to the actors,their characters and us,the fans if they time jump.Since they don't have a full season ( 22,24 episodes) i can see them picking up a little later but only days or weeks but not months.


    At least we have the new season with returning and new shows right around the corner,it will make the months fly by! Then we'll be depressed because we have a 4 month wait until the next season! We're never satisfied when it comes to our shows,lol... ;)

    Loved this episode. I cried so much. Tears of joy and tears of heartbreak. I know this is just a show although it feels real life. I am so happy they made a mini reunion out of sam and andy. This show proved they have a ffighting chance. They have each changed this season. So I believe next season they will use that and make them a better couple. Yes she was happy with nick which was awesome but her heart and head was with sam always. I love how they made sam hurt as much as andy was. It wouldve been nice to see gale and Chris reunite as well. Dovs situation is scary I pray wes does what's righyt and lets chloe have the surgery and she can choose who's her heart more. Lomg and Noelle please bring her back more! I hope Oliver remarries :-) and traci so happy they're making her move on but she's made a better detective .

    Plus Tassie admitted in an interview that the writers set out on an experiment to create a new love interest for Andy. They basically wanted to see how easily people can be swayed. But they knew the only way they could be successful would be to take Sam out of the equation. So they sabotaged his character so Nick would stand a chance. Congratulations McCollins fans. You've just been successfully manipulated.

    well theyve learned alot and hurt each other but like i said they keep going back because they r the loves of each others lives, when u find that someone there is no letting go. nick was just a friend with neefits someone to have fun with, there in no depth to their relationship, its kinda boring to watch. sam and andy will always be where the true love story is.

    and at the beinning of season 4 she was pining for sam and would have taken him back in a heartbeat if he was not with marlo. sam poured his heart out to andy in the season 3 finale and she left that told sam she was done so he tried moving on. andy is not the innocent in this relationship, she has made mistakes as well. so then andy turns to nick and hurts gail just to try and foret sam but there is no forgetting the love they share, they r soulmates.
