I really enjoyed both episodes. A little too sticky sweet at times in terms of family togetherness but its balanced with just enough self deprecating humour to make it humble. Having Tracy Pollan as the upstairs neighbor was a nice surprise but it was bit of stunt casting that slightly takes you out of the show. If they had worked in a way to play Billy Vera's "At This Moment" then it would have been too much: but they didn't. Those 40 and over will know what I'm talking about.
I did not love it. The writing was not good. The Tracy Pollan thing seemed too contrived. Well, of course, but save that for later episode. Need to put a better mix of conflict with cuteness. Check out Modern family. There are the real issues and sarcasm that keeps if actually relatable and funny.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Overly cliched but saved by the acting.
ReplyDeleteAnother suuuper boring TV show... Wow, how stupid does the studios think the Americans are...?

ReplyDeleteI loved Michael's interactions with Tracy. But the kids need to go, they are by far the worst aspect.
