Not as good as the first half, but still good. Mother is totally adorable and can't wait to see more of her. In fact, JUST show lots and lots more of the mother and Ted with Marshall and Lily interspersed please...I like to see ACTUAL romance.
Great pair of episodes to open the final season. Really liking the mother character and how she clicked with Lily and later with Ted. And on a smaller note, loved the callback to Marshall and Lily's wedding "it's for the bride!" :)
This, by far, was the better of the two eps. I loved how Barney decorated James' room to celebrate his anniversary and how they then cleaned it up. And the Ted and Mother scene was fabulous!
Really loved this episode it was my favorite out of the two. B/R were just so cute, I really like The Mother, Ted annoyed me in both episodes but I like Ted with The Mother. Sherri's character had me lol she was great but poor Marshall I wonder when he'll get back to NY.
keep up the flash-forward because that is something we need if they don't plan to meet till like episode 16, long way to go. and yea they were good together.
Funny episode, and I loved the little flashforward of Ted and the Mother. It still annoys the hell out of me, and that scene only solidified the point, that this last season would've been exceptionally better if Ted met the Mother at the end of season 8 so we could see a full season of them together... not just little snippets. Because while the episodes may still be funny (lots of good moments in both), some of the scenes just drag a bit too long just to make it last the whole season.
The 2 things I didn't like were James getting divorced. Still think it's just the writer's just trying to throw a kink into Barney/Robin, even though it was nice to see Barney have faith in someone else. And Sherri Shepard's character... I am going to hate her for however long she's on (pleas only be the next episode...)
Ugh... I am not looking forward to Marshall's story for the next 6 episodes then. I never heard of Sherri until she was cast for this season, and I look forward to going back to not knowing or seeing her.
Already loving Ted and the Mother. The flash forward was so good, need more of it. I wish they focus a whole lot more on them this season.
Barney and Robin were good too. Sherri Sheppard may be hilarious but the whole plot with Marshall and her annoyed me a little. Lily and the Mother were so good too.
I hope they make this final season really worth something.
The only thing I thought was overdone was the joke with the receptionist, didn't work for me. And I kinda missed seeing flashbacks!
But the scene with the mother was just so beautiful, a tad heartbreaking but it the good way. The idea of the mother actually imagining Ted there was just so great with how Milotti acted it, almost wistfully sad.
Also, I'm really loving Marshal and Daphne, but I hope we get more flashbacks to see Marshal interacting with the gang!
I kinda understood his attitude, not right away, he was pretty nonchalant about it on the table; but when he tells Ted he doesn't know how he feels, it made me feel he just feels resigned to the whole think, and Wayne even acts/looks tired on the scene.
If it was intentional, I think it's a pretty subtle way to go about it. We are not going to see remorse from James at that stage (it seems it happened a while ago) or any other strong emotion, he just seemed really burned-out.
Also very good. Cristin Milioti is selling it really well. I agree with someone who said the receptionist joke was overdone though, but I think the point was to highlight that Ted really was alone. Everything else was awesome, I think we are in for a tremendous season!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
This one was really funny.
ReplyDeleteand that Ted and Mother flashforward was really sweet. Aww

ReplyDeleteI loved the end with Ted and The Mother. I think he's taking her to Farhampton a year from now to propose.
ReplyDeleteEw, gross, James. It's like you don't even feel bad about what you do. Grow up! You're a father.
Barney and Robin were cute. Loved Lily getting drunk.
Great episode! And whoa at getting a promo for next week already.
Yeah, James cheating was kinda random.
ReplyDeleteTed and the mother are so great!!!! I can't wait to see more flashforwards with them.

ReplyDeleteThe scene between Ted and The Mother was something worth waiting for eight years!
ReplyDeleteAfter 8 years we need more of the Mother, and less everything else. The Mother is awesome btw!
ReplyDeletekeep up the flash-forward because that is something we need if they don't plan to meet till like episode 16, long way to go. and yea they were good together.
ReplyDeletewonder how serious is it when you cheat as a gay couple/gay man, no off/ just curious.

this was real good loved it !! :)
ReplyDeleteLoved it, the scene with Ted an the mother was great
ReplyDeleteI agree, I liked Sherri's character. Loved her in 30 Rock and she's super funny here as well
