I am literally SHAKING so much right now that I can barely even type. I swear this show gives me so much anxiety. My eyes were glued to the screen during the entire To'hajiilee scene. I think that scene may be the most intense scene ever in the whole show so far but I have a feeling there will be plenty more in the final 3 episodes.

I literally just got done watching this and I am still shaking! That is arguably one of the most, if not THE MOST, intense final minutes ever. I was fearing that whole time when Walt gave himself up that Todd and his uncle would show up... and then they did. And then the shootout! How they hell can they leave it off there? How!? I've been agonizing having to wait a week after each episode because the tension is so damn high... but in the middle of the shootout!? How the hell are we supposed to wait!? Brilliant episode. Bravo to all involved!
And as a side note, loved the phone call between Walt/Jesse.
Amazing episode. I was so worried Walt would get out of his handcuffs and pull some sort of trick while Hank was on the phone with Marie, when something entirely different happened. Oh my gosh, that was tense! I predict Hank won't make it out alive and also predict Walt will be broken up about it.
I was literally yelling at my screen! Kill him! Kill him! (Hank , obviously) This was as good as Lost´s "We have to go back" Season 3 end scene. Well , different, "We Have to cook back".
There are still 3 episodes left. THERE ARE STILL THREE EPISODES LEFT. AAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
I was laughing maniacally in front of my screen when the credits appeared.
I'm not even kidding, a mixture of pure excitement and uncut stress made me lose my shit when the episode was over. Probably because I wasn't breathing for the past 20 minutes.
I have NO IDEA how they're effortlessly topping each episode week after week, but topping this, oh man, if they pull it off in episode 14 (and then 15 and 16, obviously), I don't know the mental state I'll be in when the series is over.
All hail George Masters, Michelle MacLaren, Vince Gilligan and everyone involved in this... I have no words for this, masterpiece isn't a strong enough word at this point.
This is the best show in the history of television, past, present and future, period.
Too many great highlights to go into them all, but I loved the Walt/ Jesse dynamic. Also how everyone always underestimates Jesee, this time Gomie is guilty of it.
One thing is certain to me though, as much as Walter (or Heisenberg) can rationalize doing bad things, he still has a soft spot for Jesse. No matter how many people say Walter is a sociopath I still say if he could he would consider Jesse part of his family. And "protecting" his family has been the entire reason for him breaking bad in the first place.
Ironically it is now also the reason he is making mistakes. the rational man of science has come out the other side and, now certain of his own death, he is acting on his emotions first. While not apologizing for past actions in any sincere way, he is trying to make amends the only way he can at this point. Maybe not making amends with others as much as making piece with himself.
I think this all will tie in with the flash forwards we've seen... Like I mentioned a few weeks back, I still think only one reason is strong enough to pull Walter White back to ABQ. Sure, he loves his family, but he already has done everything he can to make piece with their future by leaving behind the money, but the reason he would come back is Jesse.. Even after this betrayal I think WW will be coming back to rescue Jesse, possibly from Crazy blank-face Todd and his Uncle's neo-Nazi clan.
It will be interesting to see who lives and dies! At this point of the story it is basically 'wrap up time' in the main arc. We have seen the beginning of Walt's downfall and next week should wrap it up. Then we need to transition to whatever causes Walt to come back to ABQ. I'm not sure we need Hank or Gomie for that... either could die. Their deaths could be the reason for sending Walt into hiding, Well that and the pissed off neo-Nazis.
Only 3 more episodes left both excites me and makes me sad..... I'm feeling blue, crystal blue.
MY STRESS LEVELS ARE THROUGH THE ROOF THIS SEASON! I was so happy when Hank arrested Walt but also so nervous because there were like 5 mins left and something bad was going to happen and then Hank had that lovely moment with Marie and Jesse was happy and DAMN NAZIS RUINING EVERYTHING!
Those are the times I wish I had a time travel machine, so I can go to September 15th so I won't bare this whole week!!! One of the bestestest episodes ever. couldn't say anymore.
I have to wonder -- and I have a hard time putting myself in the character's shoes sometimes -- but why didn't he put 2 and 2 together to make 5? Walt receives his phone call just after learning from Saul that Huell is nowhere to be found. Guess who knows about the barrels? So how would Jesse know anything about them at all unless DEA? But Walt panicked when he saw the photo. When he realized that something was off, why not drive to a different location? He had to figure it out at some point. Seems like he's stopped thinking things though all of a sudden.
And geebus, Huell! Why don't you tell him about everything why don't you?
Best episode to date for sure. That scene with Huell was quite funny and then on the other hand that last scene, WOW. For whatever reason I have this feeling that Hank is not going to survive. And I don't understand, why were they shooting at the car when they knew Walt was in it? Weren't they trying to protect him? I really don't want this show to end in a couple of episodes.
I think you might be right. It seems most likely that Walt will go back for Jesse. I love the dynamic between them and I have no doubt that Walt sees Jesse as family. Even though he is pissed at Jesse for telling Hank the full story, I think he will always try to save him.
Holy Crap!!! No words can describe the last few minutes... The best series ever!!!! I cant believe its gonna end, at least they are making the best season yet!!!
I thought about that too. Especially the bit where Jesse said something like "And you can't hang up this call. I'll burn everything if you hang up." It just seemed like an obvious sign to being tracked by cell coverage. *Shrug*
However, I think the all-powerful Heisenberg is gone and the bumbling Walter White has resurfaced. Maybe it is the cancer affected how he thinks, or maybe it is the fact that this time he honestly believes he is going to die from the cancer, but his reaction to Jesse's call was completely emotional. Even when Heisenberg was panicked he thought things out to a large degree, but Walter White seems to be fueled by emotion more than logic.
This is all going down at a time when Walter's trying to distance himself from it, but he has to keep putting out these fires, which seem to be growing progressively larger.
My other thought is this -- he's screwed no matter what the outcome of the shootout is. Hank prevails and he's going to jail. Todd's uncles prevail, and they have all kinds of leverage on him and he's got nowhere to go in order to protect his family.
He's losing what little leverage he has left while his list of misdeeds gets longer and more terrible. We can now add calling a hit on DEA agents to that list, whether it was his goal or not.
Agreed! It's all gone downhill fast for him since he attempted to go straight and get out of the game.
When he was actively cooking and part of it all he was connected to everything and with that insider knowledge he could protect himself and those he loves much more easily. Now he is in reaction mode exclusively and is always a step or two behind events.
One of the best cliffhangers I have ever seen and it's not even a season finale. I have no idea how I will make it till next week. God I hope Jesse survives
* Jesse could have forced Huell to tell him what happened to the money (after kidnapping him and using some violence, whatever). * Walt panicked - the money is all he has left and why he decided to become Heisenberg.
* He didn't suspect that Jesse would cooperate with DEA at all. Look, he was so shocked when he realised, that Hank and Gomez came with him.
Huell knew several details, but not the location of the money. That's an obvious enough fact for me to start to disbelieve Jesse's claim.
My disbelief centers around the GPS data -- can you go to Hertz and ask them where a random Impala has been while a specific person rented it without being law enforcement?
When you're in a panic, sometimes you tend to overlook funky details. I've decided just leave it at that. It is what it is at this point.
agreed...if this would be a normally network show this last good bye is the final nail on Hank's coffin. But who knows...maybe Breaking Bad will surprise us.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
HOLY CRAP, BATMAN!
ReplyDeleteThat was so intense. I imagine a Butch Cassidy and Sundance ending for Hank and Gomez.
ReplyDeleteIf there is an option for The Best episode ever in the series, I would choose that! A+!
ReplyDeleteI'm speechless, I'll come back in an hour.
ReplyDeleteI thought that too but can they pull it off with three episodes left? Don't know what they'd do with the main antagonist gone.
ReplyDelete.......I have no words, but I'm going to post them anyway.
ReplyDeleteOH MY FUCKING GOD.

So, in other words, you're...shattered?
ReplyDeleteHaha, nice one. I love punny jokes. Sorry if that sounded like sarcasm, it wasn't, it's hard to convey inflection through typing.

ReplyDeleteOh don't I know it!!
ReplyDeleteomg!!! I believe that hank is going to die, but bounded Gomez will survive to accuse Walt. Jesse will escape and Walt will runaway from the police.

Really good episode, so many great moments, the final scene make me crazy.
ReplyDeleteThere's always Uncle Jack and his gang.
ReplyDeleteThere are three "awful" votes right now. My money is on Hank, Gomez and Jesse.
ReplyDeleteWow That was an intense episode!

ReplyDeleteOh, Lost times... :(

ReplyDeleteThis episode was not Awesome, nor great, nor good, nor Ok, nor Poor, nor awful. This Episode was FUCKING SPECTACULAR.
ReplyDeleteI know a lot of people say stuff like this without it being true, But it was, without a doubt, THE BEST episode of the Whole Series.
All hail Vince Gilligan. A fucking God.
I don't know what I'm going to do with my life when this show ends.
ReplyDeleteHoly Crap!!! No words can describe the last few minutes... The best series ever!!!! I cant believe its gonna end, at least they are making the best season yet!!!

Skyler? Noo... maybe Huell?
ReplyDeleteTrue. And I guess that would be the ultimate humiliation for Walt to be taken down by those guys.
ReplyDeleteHuell knew several details, but not the location of the money. That's an obvious enough fact for me to start to disbelieve Jesse's claim.
