Okay I cannot possible say so little for such an awesome episode.
Walter saves the day and ends the reign of Crystal Blue. Absolutely satisfying. The man finding a way to do the one thing he always wanted to do from the beginning of the series, provide for his family, was another pitch perfect end note. Even when WW got caught up in his Heisenberg-ness, he always cared about and for his family. I'm glad he found a way to give them something after everything he did to them and for them.
On top of that he saved Jesse. Of course. I still Jesse was the only reason strong enough for him to come back. Whether the viewer feels Walt felt he owed Jesse for everything he had done to him, wanted to do it of real emotion, or he just wanted to take Crystal Blue off the street, Walt accomplished all 3 in one genius act.
I loved that Jesse got to kill Todd! Handcuffs! Yeah, bitch!
Using Gretchen and Elliot was an amazing twist! I never thought Walt would be angry enough to go after them honestly, there had to be more to it. I did not see using them as a means to get the money to his family. Just awesome.
The way Walt looked at his reflection both literally and figuratively was incredible! He finally admitted to himself, no matter why he started breaking bad, he did most of it for himself because it felt good to be respected. To be good at something. To be appreciated. One of the first times he has not lied to himself in the series.
Walt is the perfect anti-hero.
Kudos to all involved in creating the series and its brilliant finale. One of the best series ever ending in one of the best finales ever. A rare thing indeed!

That was simply the definition of a satisfying, incredibly executed series finale. Such a rare occurrence... They really stuck the landing on this episode!
But it was so nice to see Badger and Skinny Pete again
After feeling so odd watching both of them the last 2 weeks in their new TV shows, seeing them as our old ne'er-do-well friends was like comfort food! Like un-sliced pizza.
Absolutely loved it. Wrapped up exceptionally well. I'm sure some will complain that the events played out how a lot of fans wanted (Jesse living, Walt dying, Walt's kids (hopefully) getting the money), but the way it played out was an absolute joy to watch. Fucking Jack and his crew are dead, Jesse got to strangle bitch ass Todd (I apologize for the cursing). Phenomenal ending.
Perfect. As Vince Gilligan said on Talking Bad, it was the right ending for this particular show. It was absolutely beautiful, especially the way Walt and Skyler said goodbye, Walt touching Holly's hair, watching Junior walk home, I just loved it. I loved Marie still caring about her sister and making the warning call. I had guessed a whole lot. I knew he would manage to poison the Stevia, but hadn't figured that he would know her routine was to sit in that particular spot at that particular time. I guessed he would off Jack and crew, but never in a million years would have guessed how he did it. And I was happy to see Jesse go free, finally. Great show, great ending.
What a finale!!!!! Absolutely PERFECT. I'm so sad it's done, it's like saying good-bye to a close friend, but I am SO glad BrBa got to go out the way it did. "You wanna leave the party with people saying, 'Oh man, they were so much fun, why did they have to leave so soon" [not when will they leave already]" --Vince Gilligan
One of the best series finales I have ever seen, from beginning to end. It was fitting, definitive, and introspective in some ways. The way it ended for Jesse was exactly how I imagined it would end for him. Love the final scene with Walt walking around the lab touching the equipment with a sense of nostalgia and pride before dropping dead. The song was a nice touch.
Absolutely phenomenal episode. Masterly crafted and well deserved and fitting. I'm sure some fans may complain that a lot of us got what we wanted (Jesse alive, Walt dying, Jack and his crew dying, Jesse killing Todd), but the series and the season built to that outcome, so as I said, it was well deserved and fitting. Brilliant and so glad to witness it. I literally said aloud at the end "Goodbye, Walt."
Dear Dexter writers. That's how you write a show. Dear God, I'm going to miss this show. Almost perfection. With the couple flashback scenes I was really hoping we'd see the home video of Walt talking to Holly at her baby shower. Other than that, it was about as perfect and fitting as you can get.
It may sound like a weird thing to say but it was so damn satisfying pretty much ticking off what I wanted, Jesse living, Walter cleaning up his mess, Walter dying, Oh Jesse living. Did I mention Jesse living? Because I've been clinging onto that for so long and really didn't expect it and yet there he is racing away to freedom, a new life and hopefully a shave.
I think Marie felt more manic and panicked than upbeat to me, but that scene did feel odd tome for some reason. Maybe because I kept waiting for a shadow to appear on the floor as Walt stepped out from somewhere! XD
I thought he might be behind the column, but I did not think he was on the other side of the kitchen in a blind spot. Always the best cinematography on Breaking Bad!!
I still can't believe it's over. Such a great finale to such a great show. One thing that I was hoping for during Walt's and Skyler's goodbye was for Holly to walk into the room. Walt getting to see his baby girl walk for the first time and breaking down in tears just seconds after he admitted that he liked being a druglord. I think that would have been a great opportunity for the show to depict the duality of Walt/Heisenburg one last time. I'm gonna miss this show so freaking much! #GoodbyeBreakingBad
Average. I found myself incredibly bored throughout the episode, before the final scenes with Jesse, Walt and the Nazi's. Expected so much more from it.
And a callback to how Krazy 8 died, strangled by the bike lock that tethered him to the pole. Only this time, the captive killed his captor, and it was beautiful.
I had a different take on Jesse's survival I guess.... He HAD to survive to validate Walt's rescue.
From the beginning of the season I knew Walter was going to go back for Jesse and if he died it would have made Walt's rescue less powerful. So I never thought Jesse was going to die.
IMO the only ''win'' he got was the realization that he had done all of this for himself the whole time. He's lost pretty much everything else he once cared about!
I agree about everything else. This show was something truly special.
Hank wasn't just missing to her, Walt told Skyler on the phone that they were never going to see Hank again, and everyone in the room heard him say that, and we saw Marie react to it. I think it's safe to assume that they all got Walt's meaning when he said that.
He didn't take them out because they took his money, I think it was much more about Jack killing Hank. I think Walt blowing Jack's brains out before he could finish his sentence pretty much summed it up.
I agree with you. Also had a friend lose a family member who just disappeared and the not knowing eats people alive. But yes, I have no doubt she knew he was dead but there still wasn't that closure.
Well, I think Marie knew about the involvement of Jesse Pinkman in the whole Heisenberg thing, and I doubt that she would choose not to tell the DEA about him
After the disaster that was Dexter's finale, I'm so glad that BB's finale was that good. It was simple and yet explosive. Almost to loose ends, closure for the storyline, all I wanted and expected. Obviously I expected Walt to die but I thought It would be of cancer or that the cops would kill him, not expected him to be wounded or to save Jessie. Perhaps he did redeem himself at the end by not killing Jessie and by freeing him. What I also loved is the lack of dialogue. No need for long rants or conversations during the characters( especially during the scene with Jessie), the characters actions and body language are enough... Brilliant show, will miss it. What ever the show runners or the actors do next, i will follow for sure!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Perfect.
ReplyDeleteThat is all.

Mission accomplished Vince Gilligan. THANK YOU!!!!!!!
Goodbye Breaking Bad one of the best series ever. You will be missed !!! Epic series finale hand's down !!!!
ReplyDeleteJesse's outcome was so fun!
ReplyDeleteTodd outs Jesse in chains.
Jesse uses said chains to kill Todd.
Symmetry. XD

ReplyDeleteYES. This whole season I was basically like "Let Jesse Live."
ReplyDeleteThought it was weird that Marie was as upbeat as she was with her husband missing for a month or so. I would have thought she;d have been a wreck.
ReplyDeleteShe was more upset getting pinched for shoplifting that she seemed to be tonight.
But that was my only nitpick
And in the end, Walt was STILL smarter than 'em all!
Jeremy Carver take note.
ReplyDeleteKind of wished he switched the Volvo with the Bentley.
ReplyDeleteAnd then give it to Skinny Pete and Badger.
Wish Andrea would have been alive for Jesse to go back to. Jesse couldn't catch a break for six years. Just would have been nice.
ReplyDeleteI think Marie felt more manic and panicked than upbeat to me, but that scene did feel odd tome for some reason. Maybe because I kept waiting for a shadow to appear on the floor as Walt stepped out from somewhere! XD

Same and every episode his situation got so dire I thought no way can he survive this!
ReplyDeleteI still can't believe it's over. Such a great finale to such a great show.

Awesome WOW
ReplyDeleteSuch a satisfying finale. Absolutely amazing. And i was so heartbroken after the last scene, even tough that was the perfect ending.
ReplyDeletethank goodness! Jesse lives! i can watch the show with that relief in mind. :)
ReplyDeleteAverage. I found myself incredibly bored throughout the episode, before the final scenes with Jesse, Walt and the Nazi's. Expected so much more from it.
ReplyDelete9 awful ???!!!. .seriously?!!!! How
ReplyDeleteIt was spot on, perfectly executed, brilliantly directed.
ReplyDeleteI will never forget "The special love I have for you, my baby blue".
There's one.... Lol ;-)
ReplyDeleteAnd a callback to how Krazy 8 died, strangled by the bike lock that tethered him to the pole. Only this time, the captive killed his captor, and it was beautiful.

This show was like good, quality wine - it only got better with age.
ReplyDeleteYou gotta love when shows do that, instead of the usual decline in quality. I don't mean to bitch about Lost's ending but I was one of the people who wasn't satisfied with sending a beloved show off like that; Fringe finalé was very nice but nothing I'd rewatch a hundred times.
That being said, I am so glad Breaking Bad went out the way it did. I can honestly say this is the only show I have loved from minute one until the very last fraction of a second.
Vince Gilligan is an artist - he created a TV show with as high purity level as Walt's meth - 99.7%
I was SO WORRIED about Jesse. I just wanted him to live!
ReplyDeleteGREAT ENDING! good for Walt going out the way he did by letting Jessie live and taking out the people that took his money Awesome. RIP Walt!
ReplyDeleteHank wasn't just missing to her, Walt told Skyler on the phone that they were never going to see Hank again, and everyone in the room heard him say that, and we saw Marie react to it. I think it's safe to assume that they all got Walt's meaning when he said that.

ReplyDeleteBut I've always been told I was odd!!
Would suck for Huell if he couldn't find the remote.
ReplyDeleteDidn't all the evidence against Jesse die with Hank and the Nazi's?
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think?
Well, I think Marie knew about the involvement of Jesse Pinkman in the whole Heisenberg thing, and I doubt that she would choose not to tell the DEA about him
ReplyDeleteI also don't think we saw enough of her in the episode to really get an idea of how she was coping with Hank being gone.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect ending! When that music started to play in the end i couldnt hold my tears! Brba never dissapoint, the best series ever!
ReplyDeleteAn incredibly satisfying, and truly perfect ending to one of the very best shows in television history!
