Not a good season premiere. A decent episode overall, many jokes I literally laughed out loud at, but I did not think the story fit for a season premiere. And I also want to critize the way they handled the death. I'm not trying to be too sensitive here (after all, it was a television death and not a real one), but since when does business go up when someone literally dies because of it?
In their old shop, they had a celebratory opening day. I feel this store did not have one, and that's not a good start. Yes, yes, it was a "soft opening", but could they not even be bothered to put up a sign? Seems that even with her businessy background, Caroline has no clue on how to do business after these 3 seasons, a lot of rookie mistakes and poor judgement on her part, which would not have happened with her fancy background and father etc. That's what I miss the most with this show. She spends most times checking her cellphone (how can she afford a mobile subscription, but not toilet paper?), rather than handing out flyers, putting up signs, doing statistics on which cupcakes sells the best. Frankly, even just having a notebook and a pen and writing down important information is stuff I thought we'd see from Caroline, and none of that has happened.
Don't get me wrong though, I love the show. I just find a few gaps here and there in the writing...
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
