  3. I liked this sneak peek better, I could really feel the chemistry between the two characters.

  4. It was doing well until we got, "When you really love someone, you don't need proof. You can feel it." Then this promo was over for me. This is the hokey, over the top, "true love conquers all" trope that I hoped this show would avoid.

  5. Well I don't think we can avoid it, since it's OUAT's over all message. -But I think it's pretty obvious that Alice is going to be proving her love to Cyrus during the 'current' part of the season not to mention that the scene then highlights the idea that Alice might be wasting her time with her father, because of the idea that she is trying to "prove" to her father that she loves him by bringing back this root. There might be a rhetorical debate in this series about love/compassion verses symbolism/action.

  7. Since I dropped OUaT before the first season ended, I have been hoping that Wonderland would not have the same problems as the mothership. I actually think her desire to prove she is not crazy is a more engaging reason to go back to Wonderland than all the true love overkill. Quite frankly, Snow and Charming's relationship was never a draw for me on OUaT either.

  8. Oh but it is NOT OUAT's message.

True love is powerful, but its not a "win all be all" thing. Its something to be fought for, not something that is to be taken for granted. That's the message of OUAT.

OUATiW seems to be taking a simplified version of that message.

  9. I disagree, because the point is that none of them know how to use/constantly tap into true love, so the story is about them learning to love each other.
