As for how exactly NCIS will write out Ziva soon after its Sept. 24 opener, Weatherly is mum — “I can’t give away all the pinpoints,” he hedges with a smile — “but I found the first two episodes immensely satisfying. I was very surprised by the things I read in those scripts,” he shares.
Might those surprising elements involve some degree of payoff, if not closure, for the forever percolating Tony/Ziva romance? All signs point to yes.
“I think that for DiNozzo and for me as an actor, that ‘holding pattern’ has been incredibly fun to play — I love working with Cote, she’s awesome — but also it’s been eight years, and we haven’t dealt with it. It will be dealt with.” And with a resulting storyline for Tony that his portrayer has hailed as “the most exciting thing I’ve heard in a long time.” Says Weatherly, “I’m looking forward to seeing what the far greater geniuses have in store.”

Michael has been the only one happy with the "holding pattern" of 8 years of dragging Tiva. Most Tiva fans have been frustrated and upset with that.
ReplyDeleteThat's why they're called 'fans'. It's derived from the word, fanatic. People can get really fanatical over such things. To me, it's all entertainment.
ReplyDeleteThinking that dragging out Tony/Ziva for 8 years with no resolution/pay-off is stupid/frustrating is not an expression of fanaticism, it's an expression of common sense and understanding basic storytelling rules. Plus the holding pattern was definitely not entertaining for a long time, IMO.
ReplyDeleteYou make it seem Tony had all the say in this, and that is far from the truth, you are forgetting the writes the showrunner and Ziva herself.
ReplyDeleteMaybe she will some back into Tonys live when the series is about over,or maybe they will remain very close friends.Ad that's fine in my book, however they want to take it..
ReplyDeleteAs long as it is very well written, seems like the natural course of things and is belieavable, I'm in. I just think that the whole relationship desserves a dignified closure.
ReplyDeleteI only read "Michael Weatherly" and "exit".
ReplyDeleteI panicked.
Yay, finally some payoff. I won't begin to mention the frustration that was the 10 years Harm/Mac on JAG, and then at the end there was very little and left pretty ambiguous, so I hope they do this one differently.
ReplyDelete9 years actually. "Mac" didn't appear until the first episode of Season 2 :P
ReplyDeleteit was frustrating but i'd give up these 2 new eps and Ziva leaving for 2 more years holding pattern of dragging Tiva.
ReplyDeleteNever cared about Tiva. I didn't ever want to get together. I never saw them as anything more then friends and partners.
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you! I thought I was the only one.
