The penultimate episode of AMC’s Breaking Bad broke more records for the award winning drama last night. In a crowded night of the Emmy Awards, the Dexter series finale on Showtime and NFL Football, the Vince Gilligan-created show pulled in an all-time high of 6.6 million viewers total for its 75-minute airing on Sunday at 9 PM. Last night’s “Granite State” titled episode also broke the show’s highs among adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 with 4.3 million and 3.7 million watching in the respective demos.

Don't get me wrong I love the walking dead but I never understood how the show could gather 14 millions people while breaking bad gathers 5-6 millions...
ReplyDeleteI guess zombies are more appealing to a bigger audience. Breaking Bad is the kind of show you really have to think about, I think its impressive just how much the show has grown in ratings over the years.
ReplyDeleteYes, it has grown, just like Dexter or other cable shows but unlike dexter it gets better every single week. I think you're right, you only need half a brain to watch the walking while breaking bad makes reflect on a lot of things...
ReplyDeleteYeah Walking Dead is popcorn TV something to enjoy but is the depth really there? Probably not though there is nothing wrong with that. Just that Breaking Bad for me everytime I watch a new episode I spend hours/days thinking about it and its importance and it has something to say.
ReplyDeleteI hate zombies but I love Walking Dead, more than Breaking Bad. Walking Dead makes me think just as much as Breaking Bad does. I really like Breaking Bad though, but most of the characters are underdeveloped, and I thought the earlier seasons were kinda weak.
ReplyDeletezombies are liked by lots and lots of people, drugs are not, but sometime its cool to watch shows about drugs like weeds, so those who think its cool watch it, but then there are some like few of my friends who I can't blame due to family problems feel drugs are bad so they won't watch something primarily about drugs. so maybe there is this kind of feeling in every town? vs zombies , everyone is scared of them, it ain't real but you sure would like to experience it, but can't so why not watch it? iwono something like that.
ReplyDeleteSeason 2 was the greatest TV season ever. Most of Breaking Bad characters are underdevelopped? Really? Are you fucking kidding me?
