Warner Bros. TV and DC Comics are on a roll this development season with a third high-profile project. Constantine, a drama based on the characters in DC Comics’ John Constantine stories, has sold to NBC with penalty. It is written/executive produced by The Mentalist executive producer Daniel Cerone and David S. Goyer, the go-to writer for Warner Bros.’ feature DC adaptations. Constantine centers on John Constantine, an enigmatic and irreverent con man-turned-reluctant supernatural detective who is thrust into the role of defending us against dark forces from beyond.

wow, the comic book to tv show adaption race is in full swing - I wonder if the wonder woman project is being shopped around again
ReplyDeleteNow THIS I can get on board with!! i love Constantine. ( I fear Gotham will get cancelled, w/o Bruce being in it at all, i don't see how that's going to work, they better get one helluva cast) I'm glad they have all these Comic characters coming to tv, it's very refreshing. The networks are really on a roll here.
ReplyDeleteI wish this was on FX, because the likelihood of a show like this surviving on NBC is close to zero. But I'm definitely interested, so I'll wait for further updates.
ReplyDeleteAfter the WW debacle, any DC/NBC projects only get a lukewarm response from me.
ReplyDeleteLove the source material, but I don't trust NBC at all.
