Fox has made a development deal for World
War III , an apocalyptic event series from X-Men writer
David Hayter and Hatfields & McCoys producer Leslie
Greif of Thinkfactory Media. The network has ordered a
script and a bible for World War III , in which a perfect
storm of world events places us in the center of a global
battle which may bring the world as we know it to an
end. Hayter is writing and will serve as showrunner. He
will executive produce with Greif. FX Prods., which supplies a large portion of
Fox and FX’s event/limited series, is producing.

This one sounds pretty interesting. I may watch if it gets picked up to series.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a big budget here. In the scheme of things, i always thought Fallout / or a tv series set in the Fallout universe might be a more apt program. Are people more interested in what happens just before the apocalypse.. or just after?
ReplyDeleteI'm actually really interested in this one. I hope it gets picked up.
ReplyDeleteAs long as it is not yet another researchers-in-an-isolate-place (Arctic, boat, island., etc) fighting to find the cure to a deadly-pandemic-creating-virus while the "world as we know it" comes to an end in war and horror I am in.
ReplyDeleteSounds interesting. Will be more interested to see cast and get a little more info, but it's def something I'll be keeping in mind!
ReplyDeletesounds interesting... will have to keep a look out for this project
ReplyDeletesolid snake running a series? hell yes! lm in!
ReplyDeleteI´m a sucker for apocaliptic/post-apocaliptic shows/movies, so I'll be sure to check this out.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like it could be extremely controversial, especially on a network like FOX, given that it isn't a fantasy series : they may use fictional politicians but they'll have to use real countries. I don't know, I think if a massive event series on a big broadcast network mentions, say, Putin and Russia, as the cause for World War III, it'd create a bit of a debate. I'm in !
ReplyDeleteThe premise behind the "historical events" and the circumstances under which WW3 will be set up I think will be key to making this work. Because if that past doesn't feel believable it will cause problems.
ReplyDeleteAnd then casting will be a HUGE factor here...
Yeah I'm with you on several of those points. They would not only have to use real countries, but at the same time watch what's currently happening world-wide and try to implement some, but not all of those elements into the show while at the same time keeping it grounded and not overloaded with too much science-fiction b.s.
ReplyDeleteI hope they don't go the Red Dawn remake route and have North Korea invade the US because they're afraid to make it China so it'll sell well over there. I also hope there isn't a "good guy vs. bad guy" thing going on.
