I've said it before: I don't see how the show ends with both Morgans alive unfortunately. I think one of them will bite the dust. Dexter is the obvious choice but it wouldn't be out of the blue if it was Deb. On the secondary characters, I really don't know how to guess, everyone is fair game. I doubt they will kill of Harrison though, I think he will be the potential spin off and even story wise, I think it would be too far. I also don't see why they would axe Masuka or Angel but basically everyone is fair game, I don't know how to vote here.
Interesting thought, I had never entertained the idea of Hannah leading the spin off. But I doubt it though, she it too fleshed out at this point to have her own show IMO and I don't know how they would do it without tying it to Dexter or remaining truthful to her feelings for Dexter on the long run. I think it is more likely that Harrison carries the spin off.
I really like Quinn. I would prefer if Angel were to die, I think he is a nice guy but totally useless to the show's main plot. However, I think it is much more likely that Quinn dies than Angel dies.
I respectfully disagree. She's just fleshed out enough to know that something went terribly wrong in her childhood (ie: her father) for her to run away with Wayne Randall, but we really don't know the truth behind it all...
Additionally there is something "bigger" than the characters that will be featured in the finale and it relates to the motherhood themes this season is highlighting, most specifically through Dr. Vogel. I think the show may end with one cycle ending and another beginning. I have a theory that Hannah will have to take Harrison and run (she said in season 7 that she always wanted to be a mother and her enduring disposition is the one thing she has in common with Rita. -Additionally Harrison likes Hannah a lot and this way the viewers may be more invested in Hannah for Harrison's sake. I think this is way they saved the character for the tail-end of the series.)
Why do you think Harrison will need the code? Dexter was formed by his horrific experience in being trapped with his dead mother. You believe Harrison would remember or be influenced by his mother's murder too?
It still remains to be scene if Harrison will be a killer or not, due to his experience with Trinity and, they have made a point to evolve Harrison to have great observation (detective) skills (His stuff animal dog).
Additionally Jamie had mentioned his imaginary friend an "elephant' named Dan...This might be nod to the phrase "an elephant in the room" hinting that we may not be out of the woods in terms of Harrison's future pursuits.
Dexter always says that he sees "Rita" in him. So I think Harrison might be more like her than either Dexter or Deb (I think Astor is the one who is like Deb!)
I think "Angel" represents a standard of goodness (IMO he's the least screwed up character). So I will be surprised if he goes. I think Quinn could die, but I think if he does, his death will be written in way where everyone will be sorry he did. They have been working hard on making him fun again this season IMO. He's important because he parallels Harry and is in some ways like Deb and I think is important to her story, so it's hard for me to just hate Quinn...but there have been seasons where he tries my patients! :)
Agree with you ( and i'm so tempted to blab....but i'm trying not to XD)!
From the List i picked : Deb,Hannah and someone else. (sry that i did but i'm so unsecure if there could be an ending like in season four...and if there is,than i can see Deb and Hannah die as a direct consequence of Dex actions.) But i hope that won't be happening cuz i want a happy ending ( a half-decent ending would be ok too) ;)
I think Dexter will kill Deb much to the delight of Vogel. Then as she smiles at her image of psychopathic perfection, Dexter will strap her to the slab next. Still not sure about Hannah...
I can see her killing Dexter with his very own Modus Operandi to make it look as if the Butcher killed Dexter, thus removing any police investigation into Dexter.
I can also see Hannah being killed by Deb.... That could be the trigger for Dexter to kill Deb.
So the 4 most likely deaths to me are: 1. Deb 2. Vogel 3. Hannah 4. Dexter
Yeah pretty much DarthLocke4 has already answered as to why do I view Harrison as a potential source of Dark Passenger. However, the Astor theory is also interesting, but it has had no foreshadowing at all recently since she has not been a party of the show for a while now, so I doubt that they will go there.
I agree a lot with what you've just said. For sure, I agree that Angel is the standard of goodness and the least screwed up character (even though the endless seasons of him and Laguerta had me furious with the show). But I think that is pretty much the only role he plays because character wise he has little connection to Dex-Deb arc - it's like he is there just for the viewers to view him as the good guy as you were saying. He doesn't bother me at all (except for when they give him random plots), but I don't see how him dying would serve a purpose. Quinn I think he is important too and I think he could die and serve a purpose, for sure.
I doubt we would actually see anything of it either, unless the spin off is an adult Harrison and his half siblings play a role in series giving us similar dynamics to Deb and Dexter....
I really doubt Harrison will be a killer, he was to young to remember Rita's dead and he has a good youth so far. So I really doubt he will be coming out as a psychopath (and/or a killer). If he will find out that Dexter is a killer is a different question, maybe something that a spin-of can answer :)
Although I like the idea of a spin-of with Hannah, I think her mystery/background has already been lifted to much. I suspect that she will be a victim of the brain surgeon. Dr. Vogel will either be a victim of the BS or Dexter (for her continued experiment with him - Dexter really needs to hack her computer and read all her files)! Dexter will either commit suicide, get killed by Deb or someone else from the police.
There was a line back in first season (I think it was) where Dexter says something like, 'If I could be like anyone, it would like Angel.'
I always felt that was significant, because Angel's compassion was always at the heart of what the characters 'should' inspire to. -He used to be really supporting character for Deb in that way during the few seasons, but now he's just kind of dwindled into being the guy who's stuck in limbo since he climbed the latter...
In theory he could have a significant role to play if something were to happen to Quinn or Jamie, or if he uncovers evidence relating to LaGuerta's murder/The Bay Harbor Butcher, but I agree, either way. There doesn't seem much sense in killing him.
There are some upcoming things that might barrow elements from the 6th novel "Double Dexter"....in the book Astor is kidnapped on a boat at the end by the antagonist: The Shadow. But unlike the series, Cody and Astor are also sociopaths and Dexter teaches them his ways through out the novels. :)
Well I'm hoping for that middle ground ending, but I suspect that it will be tragic at least for one of them. I'm actually more worried about Deb's and Vogel's unforseen consequences, than Dexter's, but we'll see...going after the Brian Surgeon could be like going after Trinity, but boy I hope that ship has sailed!!
True, but what if he experiences another murder before the series ends? If you noticed, the new actor looks a little more like the younger versions of Dexter and he is now at the age Dexter was when he witnessed his mother's death....
I hope you're right! (about no Trinity ending....by the way imagine how funny it would have been back then if Trinity would've picked his next victim and big surprise it is a vampire and he doesn't know that XD) ....sry,just thought of TB.....can't Eric fly over and save the day? X)
Only that maybe his death would represent the end of the "good". For good! If Dex is forced to kill him somehow, it would be the dark passenger winning it. Somehow it would be possible to involve him that way. But that is the only way I see it!
I wished they would have found a way to keep Astor around on the show but they went another way. Now that I know that, in the books, Astor also got into the "family business," I would have liked to see a little of that onscreen as well.
I know!! I wish we would have seen them once more! Astor I always thought was interestingly written. It would be cool if they somehow surprised us, but I doubt we'll be that lucky!
That's a good point, because I think there are surely 'doomsday' themes still playing out as we count down...So if they really wanted to lay on the tragedy of it all, killing Angel could represent that last straw!
nice, yeah I see the resemblance, that's mainly due to the hair (probably done on purpose). Personally I prefer a Harrison spin-of, rather one about one of the other characters (dr. vogel/Hannah/Lumen?) but I think I will be satisfied with any spin-off :D
The problem with that IMO, is that even though the character had a lot of potential, especially in season 5, I think the actress was pretty weak and could not carry further developments. Even in season 5 I think she didn't do justice to what she was given, hence one of the main reasons why we barely see her.
I in no way expect book six ending in terms of Astor and Cody, considering from the get-go they made Dexter a much more emotional character than the novels, as he is a truer sociopath, but it would be nice to just to see them again, even though I think I feel tragedy coming on...
I like the actress and thought she was a strong minor character as she often is written in line with Deb, again playing at this kinds of distorted looks of familiar characters. I think it would be hard to find a younger actress that looks similar enough to JC, let alone be able to show such distinct personality traits at certain times.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Everyone
ReplyDeleteDexter ;(
ReplyDeleteProbably not Dexter. Would be too obvious. As for Dr. Vogel - most likely.
ReplyDeleteQuinn, I can't stand him anymore
ReplyDeleteI agree Dr. Vogel dies at the hands of the Brain surgeon.
ReplyDeleteI guess that's the least qualification for someone to get killed of ;-)
ReplyDeleteTotally, but I can't see him anymore, I just want to see him dead ^^
ReplyDeleteOne of the one's on the list will die before the last episode.
ReplyDeleteFrom the list:
Dexter
Quinn
Jamie
I'm on the fence with Deb. Her comic con comments seem to indicate negativitiy, but I'm hoping
she misled us.
Honorable Mentions for potential deaths of non list characters:
Jacob Elway
The Marshall
Oliver Saxon
I think Hannah, Harrison, Angel, Vince, Nikki, Matthews, and the new Sargent will make it.
I've said it before: I don't see how the show ends with both Morgans alive unfortunately. I think one of them will bite the dust. ReplyDeleteOr Dr. Vogel survives to teach young Harrison the code?
ReplyDeleteI respectfully disagree. She's just fleshed out enough to know that something went terribly wrong in her childhood (ie: her father) for her to run away with Wayne Randall, but we really don't know the truth behind it all...

Hannah please, as soon as possible.

That is one possibility but I feel Harrison will be more like Deb than Dexter.
ReplyDeleteDexter always says that he sees "Rita" in him. So I think Harrison might be more like her than either Dexter or Deb (I think Astor is the one who is like Deb!)
ReplyDeleteHmmm Astor following in Dexter footsteps? That is intriguing thought.

ReplyDeleteThe first person I thought of with the rumors and rumbles of a possible Spin-off was Hannah also.
ReplyDeleteAgree with you ( and i'm so tempted to blab....but i'm trying not to XD)!

Yay! a poll from me =)
ReplyDeleteI voted Dexter, Vogel and Hannah.

I want to say stuff to you, but I can't XD

ReplyDeleteAnd: I actually made collage comparisons back during the episode 8x01 in case anyone was interested...
ReplyDeleteHa! XD
ReplyDeleteSpoilery things?
Yea, good idea don't. I have avoided all promo videos and photos and spoiler info...
It is hard isn't it? XD
ReplyDeleteI hope you're right! (about no Trinity ending....by the way imagine how funny it would have been back then if Trinity would've picked his next victim and big surprise it is a vampire and he doesn't know that XD)
ReplyDelete....sry,just thought of TB.....can't Eric fly over and save the day? X)
That would be a very interesting idea!
ReplyDeleteMaybe he witnesses Dexter's own demise. He would be even more "born in blood" (Dex + Rita) than Dexter himself ever was!
ReplyDeleteYeah! Even if it was Deb or Hannah or some combination of the three, it could be pretty traumatic!!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I'm really good about it, but this Fringe and Lost, I just can't seem to get enough from! :)
ReplyDeleteYa. I won't! I'll be like the guy featured in the new Bad Robot 'Stranger' Promo.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/user/badrobotprod
Ok you have convinced me! Especially with the points about her and Harrison! Great argumentation!
ReplyDeleteOnly that maybe his death would represent the end of the "good". For good! If Dex is forced to kill him somehow, it would be the dark passenger winning it. Somehow it would be possible to involve him that way. But that is the only way I see it!
ReplyDeleteHannah drugged Dexter repeatedly with a drug which renders him susceptible to mind control. Hannah will pay for this.
ReplyDeleteI wished they would have found a way to keep Astor around on the show but they went another way. Now that I know that, in the books, Astor also got into the "family business," I would have liked to see a little of that onscreen as well.
ReplyDeleteWell now that I'm pretty much pinning for it, they'll probably kill her! XD

ReplyDeleteThat's a good point, because I think there are surely 'doomsday' themes still playing out as we count down...So if they really wanted to lay on the tragedy of it all, killing Angel could represent that last straw!
ReplyDeleteI wish he would guest star now that you've said that!XD
ReplyDeletenice, yeah I see the resemblance, that's mainly due to the hair (probably done on purpose). Personally I prefer a Harrison spin-of, rather one about one of the other characters (dr. vogel/Hannah/Lumen?) but I think I will be satisfied with any spin-off :D
ReplyDeleteAs long as it's not Dex, Deb or Harry, I can live with it.
ReplyDeleteI will probably be on board with it as long as it isn't a Harry prequel. :)
ReplyDeleteThe problem with that IMO, is that even though the character had a lot of potential, especially in season 5, I think the actress was pretty weak and could not carry further developments.
