I have to laugh at Elena Gilbert even being in the poll. Oh sure, someone will totally relate to personalityless, bland characterless mary sue who does not react to ANYTHING around her unless its romance related.

Anyway, none of the list, but i'll have to go with Buffy. S5, especially Joyce's death storyline can resonate with me a lot, considering I lost a close family member to cancer too and everything in it, including with how reactions to the death were handled felt so real and tangible and depressing. And then S6 came and I yet again could relate with the whole idea of entering adulthood, as well as the depression she suffered from.

  3. peyton sawyer is the best character ever

  4. kate beckett because she is strong, intelligent, a vivid reader (important for me), into sports, has a great body (yeah my girl crush thingie), fights her own wars and has a nice taste in men - josh was nice looking but castle it is, of course (my real crush when it comes to shows). and has a troubled past, which makes her one of hte most interesting characters ever created, in my opinion. we so dont know a lot baout her past, only small pieces but those are really really interesting.

  5. As a guy, I'm not really sure I should be answering this question but what the hell.
Maybe I'm being biased since One Tree Hill is one of the first shows I watched in its entirety, I went with Peyton Sawyer. I've always adored her love for music, her artsy side and how she defied stereotypes. She wasn't just a cheerleader, she wasn't just the girl who listened to rock music. She didn't really fit into any of the conventional cliques of high school, she was just kinda part of everything. She was angry and mean but eventually got around once she started spending time with the right people. Most of that can be applied to my years in high school.

  6. The poll was "relate-to" not "look-up-to" some got confused I think

  7. People are obviously voting for their favourite character not the one they relate to most

  8. Catherine Chadler - Beauty and the beast :)

    ReplyDelete
  9. I'm more like Piper - Charmed

    ReplyDelete
  10. I'm so Spencer Hastings. She's also my fave PLL character.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Jo from Supernatural and Beckett.

  12. Olivia Dunham Bishop! Why is Fringe and its characters always left out????

    ReplyDelete
  13. Other- Felicity Smoak (Arrow) :D

  14. Buffy! and Monica Geller

    Hmm, Marissa Cooper, The O.C.

  16. I gotta go with Robin. She isn't the biggest fan of babies (except lil' Marvin), drinks beer and scotch (way better than this fruity stuff), is sarcastic and fun and doesn't like sharing her feelings.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Temperance Brennan :)

    ReplyDelete
  18. Jocelyn Carter on Person of Interest

    ReplyDelete
  19. Meh. Human characteristics and traits are hardly gender biased anyway.

  20. Sarah Manning - Orphan Black.

She feels like a real person, acting and reacting in realistic ways.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yes! I love how she has dealt with all the crazy things that have happened.

    ReplyDelete
  22. A mix of April and Leslie on Parks and Rec, I wish I had the eternal optimism of Leslie in reality I am a little more cynical like April.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Juliet Burke - LOST
    Olivia Dunham (Blue-sided) - FRINGE
    Cosima - Orphan Black
    Charlotte Staples Lewis - LOST
    Belle - OUAT

  24. Olivia Dunham without doubt. She is one of the most important reasons for my enjoyment of Fringe. I've never understood law enforcement women wearing high heels (like Kate Beckett), Olivia's clothing sutis better to the warrior against evil she is. She's not into partying and having fun or just trying to be beautiful; she's about doing her job the best she can and protecting innocent people. And then she does care about her coworkers and is also able to love and have fun, but just not as her primary goal.

I'm really inspired by her, and rarely even feel close to any other woman portrayed on tv.

    I chose other.
Other options I would toss up is Revenge or True blood main female characters (undecisive..) I could say Fringe but it finished.
    Nice poll :)

  26. Kate Middleton. Mother of the future King of England. Incidentally, at the age of 3 days Prince George wrote the first installment of his memoirs and published direct to Amazon:

  27. She's a great, subtle arc. From a perceived "train wreck" to the one who gets stuff done and is a real leader, with smarts - as well as faults.

    ReplyDelete
  28. The question is who do you relate to the most. If there's nothing like, Christina Yang, then how could you relate to her?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Robin and Rachel are the two I most identify with Robin with her emotions and finding who she is and what she wants. And, Rachel because she was a bit lost in the beginning of the show and I'm kind of lost and trying to find who I am and what I want out of life, career and such.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I meant that there's no better figure from Christina

    ReplyDelete
  31. I would say I'm something like Juliette on Grimm. A little slow on the uptake maybe, but once I get it, I'm all into it.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Jo on Supernatural. I could relate to her because I know how it feels to want to do something your protective parent(s) will not like, and we've both had crushes on a guy not interested in that way.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Okay, but the poll is asking who you can relate to the most. Who went through similar things as you did, etc. that made you really understand them.

    ReplyDelete
  34. If the question were who would you like to be like, i would vote for olivia pope, but i think i relate to robin or beckett the most

    ReplyDelete
  35. I guess it would be Jessica day cause she is an everyday girl with real problems like me .

    ReplyDelete
  36. ольга соловьеваAugust 2, 2013 at 3:47 PM

    Robin and Jess!!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I would have to say Olivia Dunham. She is strong and vulnerable at the same time, smart, beautiful, dresses normal. I can relate to that. Her clothing style finally gave me mine...

    ReplyDelete
  38. Lindsey Weir. Completely.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Maw Maw - Raising Hope.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Nikita.
If I related to Elena Gilbert, I'd probably want to kill myself, so it's a good thing I don't. I think Caroline is a much better choice from TVD, she comes off as a real person rather than a Mary Sue being shoved down your throat.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I had to choose other.

I would say I'm a bit like Monica Geller-Bing from "Friends", a bit like Temperance Brennan from "Bones".

Oh, oops...the question wasn't really who I resemble most (in personality), but who do I relate to?

Well, then, .... still the two mentioned above. Also, a bit Abby Sciuto from "NCIS"

...but mostly I;m just me, and there's not really a character who is a lot like me in personality, or whom I can related to well, on TV.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Total word about Elena. I wouldn't want anything to do with someone like her, let alone relate to her. This girl is literally interested in nothing except having men worship at her altar - the same men who raped, abused, tried to kill and whatnot her brother and her friends. Characters like her set the women's movement back a century.

    ReplyDelete
  43. cote de pablo, ziva david , she is great

    ReplyDelete
  44. Molly Flynn. Like her, I love to go shopping. It makes me happy. Unlike her I can control my spending. Just need a new job now.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Gah, I only watch like three of those shows. Nope for Robin, Penny, and Rachel although I'd say Rachel of the three.

I have to say Rory Gilmore from Gilmore Girls and, yes, Liz Lemon from 30 Rock.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I most relate to Amy Farrah Fowler from TBBT

    ReplyDelete
  47. Erica Strange from Being Erica

    ReplyDelete
  48. I'm with you on Elena. She's dating the guy who turned her mother into a vampire, killed her father, killed her step-father/guardian twice, killed her brother, tried to kill her two best friends and had previously raped and abused one of her friends.

I also can't stand how hypocritical Elena has become and I really started to notice it in Season 3 and Season 4 was just a total character assassination.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Where is Olivia Dunham?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Garcia from Criminal Minds.

I'm lot like her in the way she cares and worries about everyone around her. And also for once I could relate to someone physically too.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I can't pick. I would say it's either Robin, Penny or Beckett... if either of them were more on the nerdy side...

    ReplyDelete
  52. Other: Alicia Florrick (The Good Wife) - character-wise, she's the person I most relate to, and I believe that under the specific circumstances, I would react the same way she does. I'm 21 and, naturally, I haven't had the same experiences, but I do share a lot of character traits with her - rational, emotional, compassionate, flexible, passionate about the things I believe in, fiercely protective of my loved ones, I value loyalty and I can't forgive betrayal easily, I don't like being manipulated or told what I can or can't do etc.

P.S: And I must say, the show has been quite an inspiration, it's one of the reasons I decided to go to Law school. :D

    ReplyDelete
  53. Kristin Kreuk from Beauty and the Beast, she's a kind, happy person with good values, great interests, also private, full of fun, hard working.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Kate Beckett from Castle, like her I am tall, independent (also a kickboxer) and have many many commitment issues too hahaha

    ReplyDelete
  55. I'm still stunned by the fact that so many fangirls are handwaving all the shit Damon's pulled because "he's so hot", and then turn around and say stuff like "Bonnie is a judgmental bitch, and she got lots of people killed when she didn't deactivate the Gilbert device! I hate her!".

Apparently, when it comes to the CW crowd at least - if you're male (and attractive), you can literally get away with murder (they refuse to even define what Damon did to Caroline, actually). If you're female, every little thing you do will be nitpicked to death and blown out of proportion.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I'd say Beckett, she's strong and a reader, also hide her feelings most of the time, that's basically me. A little kinky some times, I love this about her.
If I was like Elena I'd kill myself too. If someone from TVD should be in there, is Katherine.

I don't know why Brennan isn't here either...

    ReplyDelete
  57. Temperance Brennan from Bones and Samantha Carter from Stargate two very unique female characters to ever be on any television show. Beautiful, smart and sexy.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I kno!!!! some people have no respect for greatness

    ReplyDelete
  59. their missing our on THE GREATST OT THEM,THAT NAKES FRINGE!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Susan Mayer/Delfino from "Desperate Housewives". Adorable but clumsy, just like me.

    ReplyDelete
  61. That's what happens when you have great abs and a bad boy persona. These girls bury the horrible stuff and the moment he shows a glimpse of humanity that turns into their entire argument for why he is the hottest sweetest must deserving person to walk the planet. I really hope they grow out of that because no one in their right mind would have gone near Damon after everything his done, only Elena but we know she's not functional. And the Cw is really irresponsible. They know very well the demographic that watches their shows and they still send this type of message that impressionable naive teenage girls are internalizing. I mean how many girls out there don't think that Damon is what a man should be be? To the man out there, that is not the type of behavior and attitude women want to see in man.

  62. Alex from Nikita

    ReplyDelete
  63. Regina Mills from Once Upon a Time, duh.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Piper Chapman from Orange Is The New Black - all her "good" (they might look good but they are usually pretty selfish) intentions always turn to shit. I can relate to that completely.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Charlotte King from Private Practice and Carrie Mathison from Homeland.

    ReplyDelete
  66. What, you always like "I don't know what that means", when it's about pop culture? Gimme a break, if you were anything like Bones, you wouldn't even be here.

    ReplyDelete
  67. And you have SK's photo as your avatar. Charming.
