as awesome of a baddie as he was, I'd prefer that his character remain dead so the show can move on to other, bigger and badder characters in the extensive lore of the Green Arrow universe. jmho
Flashbacks are fine but Malcolm is dead and should stay that way. Arrow is still a very young show and resurrecting Merlyn would set a bad precedent going forward. There are already too many CW shows on air where death means little to nothing and, if Arrow is to stay grounded in a reality where the kind of lives the main characters lead have dire consequences, Malcolm Merlyn's death needs to stick.
I disagree. I think he was the prime example of how over the top and ham-acted the villains were on #Arrow last season. My biggest wish is that they would get some believable villains, instead of making them mostly cartoonish this season.
Love ARROW, things move on. The Merlins die in the next series..... the plot thickens and so it develops as stories do.John Barrowman will move on too..Back to England and a singing tour hopefully.Carol x
Even if he was still alive, I'd feel it would be best not to bring him back in the present day. His only motivation was the Undertaking and that's done. When characters, especially villains, are kept around for too long just because the audience likes them, they generally devolve into a complete mess - let's avoid that. Now, if they do flashbacks that Malcolm's character is relevant to, they can bring him back for that, sure.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
When the villians have to work with the heroes it's always good so maybe they could have a common enemy or something similar.
ReplyDeletein the present day.
ReplyDeleteThey writers did say that he is dead, but he is already been said to return, so it's pretty clear that we'll see him in flashbacks.
ReplyDeleteGood poll. He was so awesome and such a great villain (and brilliant actor), I'd love to him back in any way.
ReplyDeleteFace of bo
ReplyDeleteAs a "whisperer" in the Arrow's ear. A la:- An angel or a devil on his shoulder.

ReplyDeleteNone, for once what's dead should stay dead. Besides, I would much rather have Tommy back than the hammy Malcolm.
