Although I know all you True Blood fans are all still busy mourning Eric’s (apparent) demise, I suspect you’ll want to take a break from your weeping to read what showrunner Brian Buckner has to say about Alexander Skarsgard’s future involvement with HBO’s monster smash.
TVLINE | The big question coming out of the finale, obviously…
Let me guess. [Laughs]
TVLINE | Alexander Skarsgard — will he be back for Season 7?
I can tell you that Alexander Skarsgard is going to be a part of the next season of True Blood. He will be a series regular.
TVLINE | That will be a huge relief to fans.
I am aware! I’m not going to take Alex Skarsgard out of people’s living rooms.
TVLINE | I’m guessing Eric won’t suddenly be alive and well in the Season 7 premiere.
No. That would be a cheat, wouldn’t it? That would be an incredible cheat. Pam has gone off in search of Eric, and maybe she’s going to be the one to find him, y’know?
TVLINE | Let’s talk about Alexander’s nude scene. Full-frontal nudity on a guy is not something you see often on television.
Correct.
TVLINE | What kind of behind-the-scenes conversations took place prior to shooting?
Alex Skarsgard was the coolest camper in the world. There’s no conversation with him. He’s Swedish. They’re naked all the time. As a matter of fact, when I saw what we had on camera, I sent him an email that said, “We’re going to lock picture. Are you OK with this?” He said, “No problemo.” That was the conversation. It couldn’t have been easier.

Thanks, even though I didn't need Buckner's confirmation to know this. I kind of liked what was said in the interview.
ReplyDeleteYou happy now, y'all whining fangirls?
ReplyDeleteWaterflame: Perhaps its going to create a 'Why isnt there more Male Nudity on tv?' discussion
ReplyDeleteIt´s really underwhelming. Not only that the cliffhanger gets resolved before the new season (why do we need a cliffhanger then, anyway?) every death on the show could be reverted and definitely takes the impact away.
ReplyDeleteYes, we are. Thank you for asking.
ReplyDeleteThis interview confirms everything that I have been thinking and it all but confirms that Pam will be the one that saves Eric. I think the theory that I was commenting on the other day of Pam being the new Lilith hence she being the one that saves Eric (as a reward of Lilith for Eric saving the vampire race) might be on to something. I am really happy with the season and with the finale, no matter how much everyone else hates it. I do however share the others' annoyance with the fact that they will try to make Bill look like a gentleman again, it is just not believable. And I don't get why they insist on ignoring the Eric-Sookie thing, it is just annoying. I hope they are somehow fooling us or that they change their minds in those regards.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it means all the deaths of the show could be reverted. Why do you say that? We didn't see him die. Pam will save him in time...
ReplyDeleteSee. He didn't turn to goo!!! He didn't die XD
ReplyDeleteI'm just wondering if Pam is Pillith or Pamith now??
It's not reverted if it's planned and we didn't see him die, we saw him hatche on fire and fall to his knees--Plus in TB universe, we know we can sometimes see people/spirits post death anyways (Gran, Drew Marshall, Antonia, Godric, Lilith) so 'death' is never the absolute end on this show anyways.
ReplyDeletelol hehe Pillith sounds funny XD...
ReplyDeleteLOL! It does!XD
ReplyDeleteIt could be fun word play like being on "pills" or piller of strength! -But I'm probably getting all excited for nothing :P
Thank GOD!!!!!! No Eric no show
ReplyDeleteThat would have been funniest death of a major character in the history of television if he really wasn't coming back haha
ReplyDeleteI would love a Pam with superpowers.....idk if they would do that. But after this finale...i'm sure that nothing is impossible on True Blood.(for it's writers.. :D)
ReplyDeleteThe reason is lots of 'fans' were saying they would stop watching without Skarsgaurd so they have had to do damage control.
ReplyDeleteI know. I'm one of the people that were trying to tell others to think about what they saw first, before getting so upset. He didn't deteriorate all the way, let alone his story wasn't touched on in the episode at all. I had little doubt it was his end.
ReplyDeleteWhy would she be Pamith (sounds better than Pilith, lol)? What is the reasoning behind these? Bill lost his powers when Warlow died, so automatically, all other vampries lost it. Didn't they? Well, I guess we will have to wait another 9 months to find out. Lovely. -_-
ReplyDeleteMy reasoning for this theory is because they made a point to not show Pam during the aftermath of Lilith power-retraction (or the six month later period) and the ideas behind Lilith are not resolved...
ReplyDeleteTo better explain what I mean, the following is a response to the same question I had recantly given to someone else.
" don't feel that way because, the character comes with a prophecy. One that viewers thus far don't know if it was realized or not. When it gets down to it, we don't know what Lilith sought through Bill. What the goal or larger picture was. Was it to fight/payback Warlow? Was it for Vamps to walk in the sun? Was it fight Sarah Newlin? Was it to create Hep V and a Vampire Apocalypse? Did Bill fail or succeed?
One thing I noticed from the finale was that we did not see Pam during the time where Lilith's powers are diminishing when everyone else starts to burn from the sun. I had wondered, given that she left to seek Eric, that if perhaps Lilith just switched hosts?? (and that is how Eric will be saved).
If this was resolved, then we should of had confirmation from Lilith that she was either moving onto the next phase or that her plans failed. We had neither, only that the Sirens were about to reclaim Bill after he let the others feed on him being close to death himself. Was this because he fulfilled the prophecy or because he failed it, or neither? Did Warlow need to be alive for Lilith's prophecy to continue???..."
You know, since they have actually hinted that Pam will be the one to rescue him as we had all speculated already, I think it is quite possible that she is Lillith now. And it would make sense because Eric did save the vampire race, so if that was Lilith's goal, it would make sense that she would save him as the ultimate reward, hence taking over Pam.
ReplyDeleteIt would kind of interesting idea too, considering Eric pretty much denied Lilith and basically continued to leave Pam on her own.
ReplyDeleteI had joked about new names like "Pilith" or "Pamith", but it also dawned on me we could get "Lam" (like Lamb!! "-B") Alright, that's enough about this out of me for a while! XD
Ahah you are on a names roll!
ReplyDeleteTrue blood is 10-12 episodes. it takes about a week to film an episode so thats only 10-12 weeks. lots of time for him to do films.
ReplyDeleteYes, but it's possible that he isn't always at liberty to be on his own filming schedule for all of the movies he may want to do. There could surely be conflicts.

ReplyDeleteThere may be lots of time, but I doubt that all actors get to do everything on their schedule. It is possible that some of the movies he wants to do could interfere with part of their 12 week filming schedule.

ReplyDeleteThe season had it's ups and downs Warlow was a big disappointment throughout the season in its entirety.
