So it turned out that Day 13 was unlucky for one of the most nominated shows for entry into the competition, as Arrow fell face first out of the running at the first hurdle. Charmed pulled off a comfortable and relatively stress free win over the superhero CW show, earning the right to take on Veronica Mars which also walked into round two without any trouble.
Today sees The Vampire Diaries, which despite claiming a final place in 2010 and a semi-final place in 2011 saw a disastrous first round exit last year to finish in 33rd place in the competition. Can it guarantee a better placing this year in this battle vs. Prison Break, a show which last year finished at a high of 15th place.
Also today we have the ever-popular Chuck & Stargate SG-1, both shows have made the competition every year of running, and both have had good and bad years. For one, today will end their chances...
For anyone who missed the rules, here they are again:

ReplyDeleteIt's all about Chuck for me today.... I also voted for The Vampire Diaries, which is a mediocre show in my opinion, only because i refuse to ever vote for Prison Break... While i loved it's first season, everything after that sucked and it became one of the most disappointing shows i've seen.

ReplyDelete- I love both Prison Break and TVD. But TVD has been frustrating me at times, I don't think it is what it used to be (even if the last bunch of season 4 was actually pretty good). Still, it's not what it used to be in season 2. On the other hand, Prison Break (which also had some unfortunate moments, for instance, part of season 3) was the show that made me fall in love with tv shows in general and getting hooked in all this. I love it. Neither are perfect and I like both, but Prison Break gets my vote.
- I have seen the first season of Chuck, have never seen Stargate, so I give Chuck the vote
I don't get why people hated the following seasons of PB so badly. I loooved the 4th season particularly. Season 2 was also very good IMO, even though uneven - a lot of good ones, some bad ones. Season 3 was imo the most problematic, but the finale alone made it a worth watching season in my opinion.

ReplyDeleteThe only show I've seen is Vampire Diaries today. Also voted Chuck because out of the two it's the one I would rather start watching. Really sad for Arrow yesterday but Charmed has had a long time to accumulate fans so I hope it goes far!
ReplyDeleteWell i don't know about anyone else but for me Prison Break was the first show that introduced me to the whole addiction of watching episode after episode and while i was very excited throughout the first season and for a few episodes of the second, i had already started getting bored and that never stopped i guess..

ReplyDeleteNo *blushes*, but I looooove Chuck and it was the first show that brought me to the amazing world of TV related websites and forums, so it has a special place in my heart. I usually never judge before watching both shows, but Chuck will always be the winner to me.

for the first poll, TVD based mainly on the first 2 seasons, the last 2 seasons were entertaining, but sloppy. PB was good in only the first season for me... the second was a tough go as I looove both shows, but in the end had to go with SG1 for the 10(?) seasons, multiple cast changes, and it rocked all the way thru for me so I had to give it the nod over the excellent as well Chuck...

ReplyDeleteNo (or let's say "very few") show has been so exciting, fast-paced and moving in "each episode" since Prison Break. Especially the first two seasons were legendary. So, it's a shame "The Vampire Diaries" has more votes for the time being.
ReplyDeletePrison breaks gaining maybe it will still win. It would be a shame if prison break lost to TVD. I watched every episode of both clearly Prison break's final seasons weren't great but the beginning was incredible. TVD was never incredible, season 1 was great but since then its dramatically declined.
ReplyDeleteStargate is my only vote today. I don't watch either show in the first poll. I watched the first 2 or 3 seasons of Chuck but it did not compare to my love of Stargate. It was a show that my whole family watched together so I also have great memories of family bonding that came with it. I wasn't as big a fan of the replicator or Ori years, but the characters were fascinating as were the other worlds.
