The SpoilerTV Favourite TV Series Competition 2013 - Day 19 - Round 2 - Supernatural vs. Breaking Bad & Hawaii 5-0 vs. LOST
Aug 24, 2013
2013 TV Series Competition Cancelled Shows Hawaii 5-0 SupernaturalHi folks,
Another day, another big name show bites the dust. Last years runner up, Once Upon A Time, falling at the second hurdle to the still-much-loved Grey's Anatomy. Another show that never fades with time, Buffy, saw off New Girl in comfortable fashion to set up an interesting battle for round three.
Today is going to be interesting.
One show is undeniably the most successful show in STV Competition history, the other is a currently-airing-its-final-run critically acclaimed, ever popular cable TV show. If there was ever a point in time where Breaking Bad may beat Supernatural, I'd say now was it. It should be a hum-dinger of a battle.
We also have the two Hawaii shows going head to head, the 5-0 vs. the 815's in a Hawai 5-0 vs. LOST showdown.
For anyone who missed the rules, here they are again:
1) Two shows will go into battle in a poll, where after exactly 24 hours, the leading show will win the battle and will progress into the next round.
2) Vote for you favourite, spread the word with your friends & fans.
3) Comment on what you voted for on in the comments below.
4) Have fun. This is a friendly & competitive competition.
Here we go...

Also, make sure you come back tomorrow for continuation of Round two, with The Mentalist vs. Leverage as well as Revenge vs. Firefly.
I thought it worth noting that I am aware I've been a little slow at getting the next poll onto the site, but instead of quizzing DarkUFO, drop me a tweet or an email @AdDHarris or adamdharris@spoilertv.com and I'll let you know instead!
Here we go,

LOST always has my heart, so an easy one in that poll.
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed both SPN and BB, but Walter White gets my vote today...
LOST obviously :)
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I don't yet watch BB so I went SPN
Breaking Bad and Lost
ReplyDeleteNothing for me 2day..
ReplyDeleteI don't really care who wins in the first poll since I love both shows so much. As for the second poll, my vote easily goes to LOST.
ReplyDeleteI'm currently just finishing season 4 of breaking bad and although it's good, Supernatural has my vote.
ReplyDeleteLOST
ReplyDeleteSupernatural!!!!!!!!And Lost!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBreaking Bad and Lost! The first is the best tv series ever and the second is just a mark on television!!
ReplyDeleteLOST Every time easier vote so far
ReplyDeleteLOST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and Breaking Bad.
ReplyDeleteBreaking bad and Lost, enough with SPN, too much already
ReplyDeleteSupernatural.
ReplyDeleteBreaking Bad and LOST!
ReplyDeleteBreaking Bad and LOST - my two favourite shows ever, probably!
ReplyDeleteBreaking Bad and Lost. These 2 shows, along with Oz, are the greatest 3 TV Shows of all time. And yes, I have seen The Wire.
ReplyDeleteLOST of course and even though i love Supernatural, Breaking Bad is just flawless and it definitely gets my vote...
ReplyDeleteEasy. Supernatural and lost. Probably my two favourite shows ever. Next round won't be so easy if they both make it through though
ReplyDelete1st Poll: Watch both shows, and love them both but Breaking Bad is the obvious choice for me.
ReplyDelete2nd Poll: No vote, as I didn't/don't watch either show.
SPN!!!
ReplyDeleteThe old time classic Lost ;)
I will only vote LOST today.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen Breaking Bad yet, and Supernatural lost me after season 6, so... I simply couldn't vote there
LOST is IMO the greatest TV series of all time, While Breaking Bad is around 3 or 4 for me, With Supernatural I couldn't get past the first episode as its for teen girls.
ReplyDeleteI really love H50 especially with Alex and Scott but LOST will always be my number one. By the way I'm super excited that more lost actors are guest starting on H50, First Daniel (full star) then Terry (occasional star) now Henry and Jorge!! Yay also one of the H50 writers was apart of Lost. Looks like she wants her old team back.
ReplyDeleteLOST - Always! No other show ever had me hooked like LOST.
ReplyDeleteAnd Breaking Bad ofcourse, Walter and Jesse are amazing.
Oh come on, let's be real. Supernatural is nowhere near close to quality of Breaking Bad (especially the last couple of seasons). But of course it will win, unfortunately. BB is an easy vote for me.
ReplyDeleteSecond one - Lost.
And Supernatural is winning...okay... Come on people! This is about quality, not about how hot the cast is. Breaking Bad is so well written and directed and the actors are great! It pains me to see that greatness is not recognized.
ReplyDeleteEasy picks for me:
ReplyDelete- Lost is my favorite show of all time. I like H50 and I have watched every episode of it, but it is not even close.
- I have watched a bit more than half of the first season of Supernatural and I've liked what I saw. Breaking Bad I saw the entire first season even though I wasn't into it because so many people kept telling me how great it was so I actually went against my rule of stopping at the third episode if I am not into it. But I still didn't like it. And yeah, I know it is a blasphemy and stuff to say that but I just didn't, nothing against the show, it is probably a personal thing, but I didn't and I thought the subject matter was too dark for my taste. So, Supernatural is an easy win.
Supernatural and Lost for me.
ReplyDeleteSPN is for teen girls?
ReplyDeleteLOST and Breaking Bad. Have enjoyed the first 2 seasons of H50, but of course it stands no chance against my first TV show love.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, loved Supernatural (once I started watching it) up to Season 5 - haven't enjoyed it since. Should have ended it then. Breaking Bad, however = flawless.
ReplyDeleteand Lost - b/c it holds a place in my heart.
toughie today...... I LOVE SPN and am currently trying to catch up on BB (currently finishing off S2) and love it, but want to judge over the entire series so decided to abstain... the second was a bit easier - Lost by a good margin. H50 is fun, but my vote is for Lost
ReplyDeleteAgreed - Breaking Bad is one of the best written shows I've ever seen. If Supernatural was against most shows, I'd actually easily vote SN (which is different from year's past as I hadn't seen the show until this past year) - but I really didn't like it post Season 5 - where as Breaking Bad has been must watch through and through.
ReplyDeleteI thank whoever gave me that negative vote - considering I said I like both shows...:)
ReplyDeleteYeah, Thats how it feels to me, Sorry if you disagree.
ReplyDeletelol how the hell is supernatural beating BrBa..makes no sense. Also voted for lost obvi
ReplyDeleteTo everybody wondering why SPN will beat Breaking Bad:
ReplyDeleteThis isn't about quality, it's about popularity. SPN has been known to have one of the most dedicated fandoms, especially when it comes to online related things such as polls and competitions like this one. It is also one of the most popular shows here on SpoilerTV, that's why it won 2 out of 3 times. Breaking Bad is clearly the better show and while it deserves to make it to Round 3, it sadly won't.
Very well said, but I still would have loved to see Breaking Bad win this just once, especially in its' so far flawless final season.
ReplyDeleteIt's consistently strange to me which shows have the most massive fanbases - not that Supernatural doesn't deserve it, of course, it's just that so many other great shows deserve fanbases that are just as big. TV, like life, just isn't fair!!
Easy enough for me. Supernatural and Hawaii Five-O
ReplyDeleteLost and Breaking Bad.
ReplyDeleteI tried and never took to H5O or Supernatural.
Supernatural and LOST (sorry H50!)
ReplyDeleteExtremely easy vote today!
ReplyDeleteWhile I do enjoy Supernatural, everything post Season 5 has been "meh." Breaking Bad however keeps getting better and better, the first 2 episodes of this last season destroyed any episode of Supernatural. Breaking Bad is the only choice.
Then of course Lost. Nothing against Hawaii 5-0, but Lost has held my adoration since it began in 2004 and I still love it so it gets my vote.
That's the saddest part. I saw the poll and I thought "Breaking Bad crushes Supernatural," but I also knew the ridiculously rabid fan base it has online and I know sadly it'll likely win.
ReplyDeleteWith them being two totally different shows, how can you compare episodes and say it destroyed any episode of Supernatural?
ReplyDeleteYes Breaking Bad is the better show but I just don't get how someone could make the assumption that the two episodes of Breaking Bad of this season were better than any episode of Supernatural.
Supernatural and Lost, I like H50 but c'mon it's up against Lost!
ReplyDeleteI think everyone here knows (at least the people who have been here for awhile) just how popular SPN is.It always had a big fandom here, but that starting changing last year..It will do well but it won't win..
ReplyDeleteAgreed!
ReplyDeleteJust my opinion. To me, the two episodes of Breaking Bad, in fact most of the episodes of Breaking Bad, are more entertaining, more suspenseful, exceptionally better written than I have seen on Supernatural. And I thoroughly enjoyed Supernatural Season 1-5, there were some very good moments in there, but it just doesn't compare in terms of quality of writing and the show. Again, just my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI could not agree more!
ReplyDeleteThe last 2 episodes of Breaking Bad have been arguably the best 2 episodes of TV I have seen.... ever. Considering that those 2 episodes are mid-season and not even finale episodes the statement carries even more power!
Super easy for me today..SUPERNATURAL all the way and also a vote for Lost.
ReplyDeleteThanks for calling this 75 year old great grand ma a Teen Girl. lol
ReplyDelete12-year-old brainwashed girls voting for SPN. Pathetic.
ReplyDeleteI also tried BB and did not see what all the fuss was about, did not finish the first season, but SPN has been my favorite series since the pilot. Last season was hard to get thru for me, did not like the way the writers just threw canon down the drain.. but am still hanging in with hopefully somehow getting back to the "family business" and the characters I have loved.
ReplyDeleteBB and Lost. And why the hell is BB loosing from Supernatural? I was already disappointed that Sherlock lost in Round 1, now this again.
ReplyDeleteBut if BB manages to pass, I will vote for Lost, no doubt.
Hah, true. They don't have anything to do, so they jerk off on SPN, Twilight and other stuff that is popular among them today.
ReplyDeleteThe whole point of this is comparing the two shows.
ReplyDeleteAgreed with both - the level of script writing, directing, cinematography and characters in Breaking Bad is beyond explanation. I had the show in my top 5 before I had season 3 finished - and at this rate, it's going to have a superb finale and actually pass X-Files as my favorite show of all-time. Not even Lost could do that(and I traveled to Oahu TWICE for Lost).
ReplyDeleteBig Supernatural fanbase here - it's always a tough match-up when you face it.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how many people are voting against LOST, Just because they didn't "Get it", Or still believe the myth about unanswered questions?
ReplyDeleteYour'e welcome lol.
ReplyDeleteHaha, Theres one of them lol..
ReplyDeleteLost is the one that gets my vote!
ReplyDeleteLoL!
ReplyDeleteSame here.
ReplyDeleteEVA MONTA
ReplyDeleteNOT FAIR :( I love both Breaking Bad and Supernatural, but SPN gets my vote.
ReplyDeleteAnd I would NEVER vote against LOST. For me, best show ever.
Breaking Bad and Lost.
ReplyDeleteIt appears I'm in the minority of 1 other commenter and 372 votes that voted H50. Unfortunately I've never watched LOST. I should do really. But H50 has no hope v LOST. It could start with a 300 vote advantage and still lose.
ReplyDeleteNever watched Breaking Bad or Supernatural but I hate the concept of Supernatural so I'll vote BB. Just for fun.
Supernatural and i love H50 but lost.
ReplyDeleteNo, actually it's "favorite TV series" not "best quality show".
ReplyDeleteThere are plenty of older people who watch this show, and guys. The show was created by a guy and has hardly any romance to none. Yeah, totally a teenage girl's dream show.
ReplyDeleteJust Supernatural, only show I watch out of the four
ReplyDeleteSupernatural and Hawaii 5-0 for me.
ReplyDeleteActually Supernatural tends to balance pretty evenly between male and female viewers and it is one of the oldest skewing shows on the CW. It is definitely more in line with the demographics of other networks.
ReplyDeleteJust curious, but have you watched Supernatural? It is far more than hot guys. In fact that criticism always bugs me because 95% of scripted TV has "hot guys" on it but I rarely ever hear of anyone watching a show because someone is hot. If that's the only criteria, there would be far more people watching daytime soaps. If you haven't tried Supernatural, I would encourage you to. It might surprise you how much more it has to offer than the looks of the lead characters.
ReplyDeleteFirst off I wouldn't take it personally. Second, maybe the people who did really like Hawaii 5-0.
ReplyDeleteI agree that Supernatural has a passionate and generally powerful fanbase when it comes to online polls, but I disagree with the statement that "Breaking Bad is clearly the better show." That is an opinion and there have been people who have already commented that Breaking Bad did not do it for them but Supernatural did. It's all about taste.
ReplyDeleteLost for me today!
ReplyDeleteSherlock deserved to pass to Round 2 :(
ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing about BB (the typical 1 sentence description of the show sounding like nothing I would ever want to watch), but after reading one rave review after another my wife and I decided to give it a try earlier this year. We couldn't stop watching it, and it is now our favorite show.
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't mean you would like it, but maybe someday you will give it a try and change your mind too.
It was hard between SPN and Breaking Bad, but with a heavy heart I had to go with my Winchesters...
ReplyDeleteSecond was a very "meh" vote... I have no real affinity to either show, but I voted for H5-0.
supernatural and i love H50 but lost.
ReplyDeleteThanks, you might be right. I may just decide to watch it one day. You never know :)
ReplyDeleteWe have different opinions, That's normal. When I watched the first few episodes it felt like I was watching a TV series for teenagers, Mainly girls. Sorry that you dont agree.
ReplyDeleteSo true Ben, Many people loved Lost until they realized it was too complex for them.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Supernatural is a very teen oriented show, Just because non-teen people watch it dosen't change this.
ReplyDeleteLOST is the greatest TV series of all time, But sadly it generated the most trolls and bitters, Simply because it was intelligent and thought provoking, How does that happen??
ReplyDeleteRock on!
ReplyDeleteYes its very balanced and very fantastic, too bad some people don't see it. I started watching SPN when I was 9 haha.
ReplyDeleteLOST & Breaking Bad...
ReplyDeleteI voted against LOST because I found it badly paced.
ReplyDeleteYou found LOST "badly paced"? Lol..
ReplyDeleteMy main point is that it's not just teen girls who watch it and it wasn't written intended for teen girls. The facts are that there are plenty of older people who watch it too. I personally know a 50 year old man who watches it and my father and mother watched it too until my mom stopped watching because there wasn't enough romance for her and she had other shows.
ReplyDeleteExactly. People seem to think they know what is the best quality show when it's mere opinion. Even with critics I don't pay attention. Some of the most boring shows and movies (for me) are critically acclaimed and have awards. I really don't pay attention to that. There are a lot of underrated shows out there that I would have never gotten to see if I only paid attention to shows other people thought were great.
ReplyDeleteI agree that it feels like a teen show, That may not be who it was aimed at or who watch it, But that's what it seems like.
ReplyDeleteI have rarely agreed with critics in either TV or movies.Much of what they laud is incredibly boring to me. I find when I listen to anyone except people who really know my tastes, I end up disappointed.
ReplyDeleteThe only movie I can think of that I agreed with critics is E.T.. I loved that movie and so did critics..
ReplyDeleteI am one of the few people who hate that movie but it wasn't the movie's fault. My aunt bought everyone in my family a copy of ET one family Christmas when I was a kid and we had horrible weather. I must have been forced to watch that movie 12 times before we got to go home. To this day the thought of watching it again makes me a little sick. I'm sure if I did watch it though I would appreciate it more than I do now.
ReplyDeleteHeck I am going to stop my SPN marathon and watch ET, has been years since I saw it..;)
ReplyDeleteIt may be, but that's not my case. In fact, I have watched more episodes of SPN than needed to realize the show is just silly. I admit fantasy is not my thing and that the sort of story they tell may actually be appealing to some audiences, but I simply cannot take it serious. Nevertheless, there is no way it can be compared to BrBad. In BrBad, even a simple moment of silence is more carefully created, filmed and acted that the most complex scene of SPN. It's absolutely astonishing how much detail (and so very well done!) the show has. It feels that every scene is a work of art and the whole show is a masterpiece, a classic on the making. SPN is nothing more than entertainment; one of those shows nobody will even remember in a few years. Comparing the two is actually insulting.
ReplyDeleteWell that's your opinion, nothing can change that. I'm saying just because you feel that way doesn't mean you're right about it being a teen show. It only feels that way to you.
ReplyDeleteout of all the reasons i've heard people say for why lost sucks, this was clearly the worst
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you have at least seen some episodes of Supernatural so you can make up your mind. I don't however think that comparing them is insulting.
ReplyDeleteI dropped LOST because it kept adding on questions and never answering them. That is bad series pacing to me.
ReplyDeleteok,how far did you get?
ReplyDeleteI watched all of the first 3 seasons and then was forced to watch part of the third.
ReplyDeleteyou found all 3 of them extremely slow?
ReplyDeleteI found the first season to be the best but both of the first two seasons were extremely frustrating. It felt as if they did not know where they were heading and therefore could not answer their own questions. The multi-toed statue was the end of it for me. Then I read an article with the show runners who said that they purposely left the show vague so that viewers could make up their own answers. That is not good writing to me and it killed any interest I had to see the rest of the show. There's a reason why The Lady or the Tiger is my least favorite short story. I can't really say much about the third season because I was forced to watch sporadic episodes when visiting people who liked it.
ReplyDeleteyou should have stuck around for the end of season 3,the finale is one of the greatest and strongly written episodes of tv i've ever seen
ReplyDeleteI have stopped watching a show(Memphis Beat) because I did not like the mom, don't guess it matters why you stop, just that you did not like the show. Badly paced is as good a reason as mine.
ReplyDeleteIts a myth that LOST didn't answer its questions, I've been on virtually every forum going, discussing LOST with people, and in over 3 years not one person has managed to come up with a question the show didn't answer. Just because the show answered its questions differently to say CSI or The Mentalist, dosen't mean the answers weren't there.
ReplyDeleteIt may have felt to you that they didnt know where it was heading, But they did, In the very first episode the ending is foreshadowed.
ReplyDeleteLost was like SPN in you had to pay attention to what was going on, can't be cooking, washing dishes or playing on computer. So much of SPN is silent acting which I love, but do agree that all of Lost questions were answered. I enjoyed the show, but it is not put in my favorite list.
ReplyDeleteThere's only a show that I will remember with my whole soul and I like it so much that rewatch it ocassionally. And it's Lost. :)
ReplyDeleteI love Lost - it's one of my favorites for the EXPERIENCE I had watching it - but they answered the vast majority of the questions and I never quite understand how someone could watch the show "casually".
ReplyDeleteNo offense was intended - it was sarcasm. For what it's worth, I love Hawaii Five-O but it isn't and will never be the Lost experience - though it's pretty to look at (hence why I watch it).
ReplyDeleteBreaking Bad, however, is on pace to become my favorite television show - as it's clearly the written show I've ever watched (though I'm told the Wire is amazing and I'm yet to see it).
