When we left off, Game of Thrones and Friends became the first shows to make it into round three, with relatively convincing wins over Dexter and Rizzoli and Isles. Both shows are having another strong year in the competition, and for one of them, a place in the quarter finals beckons.
Today we have a tough battle between Once Upon A Time and Grey's Anatomy, one of the fresh blood going against one of the old guard. We also have a similar situation in the second poll, with the ever popular New Girl challenging Joss Whedon's most beloved property, Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
For anyone who missed the rules, here they are again:

The only show I watch from todays bunch is New Girl, so that gets my vote :-)

ReplyDeleteStarting with the easy one: I have never watched Buffy and New Girl is one of my favorite comedies, so New Girl gets my vote easily.
ReplyDeleteThe first one is a real killer for me. I like both shows a lot and depending on the moment, it is possible that I would have voted for one or the other. However, in the end, I cannot imagine myself not voting for Grey's Anatomy here. It is not perfect and it had a few not so good moments (even though I argue that even at its worse, Grey's is still pretty ok) and it made a lot of decisions with its characters' path and storylines that I never agreed with. But at the end of the day, I really live those characters and get crazy emotional with them, which is what matters. Besides, when it is good, it is amazingly good and moments like Denny's death, Izzie's cancer storyline and the shooting episode will always be something I hold dearly. I do like OUAT a lot too but currently I am just not feeling. The show let me down a lot in season 2. I loved season 1 and the early season 2 - it was so fresh and innovative, all the while reminding me of my favorite show ever (LOST), but in the end of season 2 it lost me with the inconsistent characters, with the back and forth of the storyline and with the lack of a real end goal story wise that we could root for. I think they broke the curse too early and were not prepared to deal with it. IMO, as awesome and game changer as the season 1 finale was, it should have ended with only Emma finding out the truth, not everyone else. I hope that season 3 can improve on season 2 because I really wish to fall in love with the show as much as I was before.

ReplyDeleteGreys & Buffy for me - I used to love OUAT, lately tho its just a cheese fest with no real development or interest. Even tho Grey's has its major faults, it is still in my top favorites - you cannot beat the first 3 seasons of that show. Buffy is Buffy - nuff said.

ReplyDeleteOUaT vs Grey's: IMO neither is all that, but I guess I'll vote for Grey's. It has been decent and still manages to be quite enjoyable at times, whereas OUaT didn't manage to sustain it's potential in the two years it's been on.

ReplyDeleteWatched the first few episodes of OUAT, just too many plot holes, got frusturating...Grey's Anatomy is not really my type of show, but my mom loved it and so Grey's in memory of her.

ReplyDeleteSurprised ONCE lost to greys. I've watched ever episode of both shows and I really thought ONCE would take it. I guess a lot of people hate voted for grey because they disliked ONCE season 2 so much. This poll had the most voters in a long while 1,694.
