The SpoilerTV Favourite TV Series Competition 2013 - Day 17 - Round 2 - Game of Thrones vs. Dexter & Rizzoli and Isles vs. Friends
Aug 16, 2013
2013 TV Series Competition Cancelled Shows Game of Thrones Rizzoli and IslesHi folks,
Round one is complete, our 64 have become 32. The 4th section is definitely the wild card in the pack, as now six of the eight remaining are already finished shows, with The X-Files and House taking the final two spots in the competition, knocking out 30 Rock and NCIS (a show which had never not reached the Quarter Finals before)
Today Round two kicks off with a mega battle, as HBO's epic drama Game of Thrones challenges Showtime's soon to be finished serial killer saga, Dexter. It's a really tough battle to call.
We also have a more low-key battle for a place in Round three, with Rizzoli & Isles taking on one of the biggest sitcoms of all time, Friends.
For anyone who missed the rules, here they are again:
1) Two shows will go into battle in a poll, where after exactly 24 hours, the leading show will win the battle and will progress into the next round.
2) Vote for you favourite, spread the word with your friends & fans.
3) Comment on what you voted for on in the comments below.
4) Have fun. This is a friendly & competitive competition.
Here we go...

I thought it worth noting that I am aware I've been a little slow at getting the next poll onto the site, but instead of quizzing DarkUFO, drop me a tweet or an email @AdDHarris or adamdharris@spoilertv.com and I'll let you know instead!
Here we go,

Game of Thrones and Friends for me today! Two shows I love watching...
ReplyDeleteGoT vs Dexter How can I choose ??
ReplyDeleteEasy: Game of Thrones and Friends.
ReplyDeleteDexter >>>>>>>>> Shite of Thrones
ReplyDeleteOnly one I care about is Dex v. GoT. Very different and very good shows. Huge fan of Dexter for it's originality and typically exciting storylines. But I gotta go with Game of Thrones for 3 reasons: 1) Story and acting is more compelling. 2) Dexter hit a couple of low points *cough* season 6. 3) Even if this was just the third season of Dexter, I'd want to see more GoT if I had the choice between the 2.
ReplyDeleteEasy today. Game of thrones and friends. Both brilliant shows (albeit very different!)
ReplyDeleteeasy easy easy , Game of thrones and friends
ReplyDeleteDexter and Friends
ReplyDeleteAs for the first poll, Dexter easily gets my vote. I just don't see the appeal in Game of Thrones, its extremely over-rated.
ReplyDeleteVoted for Friends in the second poll. Not seen either show, but Friends would be a more challenging opponent in Round Three.
I cant choose for who to vote in the first pole
ReplyDeleteVote GOT, just think how amazing season 3 was with the red wedding, dany's dragon and the freeing the slave, the fight at castor's.
ReplyDeleteWell it is difficult to vote against Dexter because it has been my favourite show until season six. Season six really wasnt good but season seven and eight are good again. As for GoT i read the books before the tv series and the books are definietly better but i still love the series. So i just cant decide betweene these two, GoT will probably win anyway due to its current popularity
ReplyDeleteOnly Game Of Thrones for me today!
ReplyDeleteDon't watch any either if the show in Poll 1. For Poll 2, I chose Friends; as it is my all time favorite show.
ReplyDeletefriends and game of thrones.
ReplyDeleteI like dexter too its a great show.
ReplyDeleteI've read the first three Fire and Ice books before the show the last two books after the show came out. I completely agree the books are better, especially for Aria and the flashbacks/ memories. Season 1 and 3 were still incredible.
GOT and Friends!
ReplyDeleteDon't really care who wins, but voted for GOT & Friends
ReplyDeleteWhat is up with the Dexter polls being impossible to call? It killed me to pick it over Suits on the first round and now it has to go up against Game of Thrones... That is crazy... I really thought about not voting on the first one. I adore both shows to death, are amongst my absolute favorites. In the end, I voted for Dexter because of longevity, the whole final season nostalgia factor and the fact that I think GoT will have plenty of opportunities in the future. However, I have to say that Dexter, GoT and Suits are all some of my favorite shows and shows I would back in the whole tournament in normal instances. Sucks that the draw was so bad to me.
ReplyDeleteOn the second one, I have only seen random eps of both and from what I know, I went with Friends.
I know, right? It's crazy!
ReplyDeleteI am with you there, it was the most difficult poll for me so far. Crazy
ReplyDeleteDEXTER!!!
ReplyDeleteEspecially since the third season of Dexter was quite weak haha (I still went with it anyway)
ReplyDeleteI love both shows in the first poll but I have to choose one: Game of Thrones.
ReplyDeleteAs soon as i saw these two together i knew i wont be able to decide in my opinion these two shows should be in the finale
ReplyDeleteWow, I have four votes to give in round two. First one went for GOT.
ReplyDeleteOh,and whats to come in S4! :O
ReplyDeleteif you read the books than you know that it gets better and better especially the fifth book the forth wasnt as good but i cant wait for the sixth book
ReplyDeleteGoT and Friends.
ReplyDeleteDexter because it needs the support and Rizzoli/Isles because I hate Friends and would love to see an underdog go far
ReplyDeleteI haven't read the books yet, but i do know some of what will be happening! :O its going to be so good!
ReplyDeleteFriends! Have not seen any of the others today.
ReplyDeleteThe fifth was definitely more action packed and the cliff-hangers were amazing. Book four had some great character interactions and luckily in the show they will be mixed since the books occur at the same time period.
ReplyDeleteYes the fifth book was better because the action and the cliffhangers but also because it had the best caracters, Tyrion, Jon, Daenerys, Theon... That is what was missing for me in the fourth book. I especially didnt like Briannes chapters
ReplyDeleteI agree with the first 3 in the books my favourite characters are Jon, Arya, Sam Daenerys and Tyrion. Although Theon's story in book 5 was really interesting but before that I couldn't stand him. I feel so bad for him at the end of book 5.
ReplyDeleteFRIENDS gets my vote, it was one of my first TV loves...i miss it so!
ReplyDeleteSorry Dexter, but a few of your later seasons were sub-par and Game of Thrones delivered every season so far.
ReplyDeleteI love Jon and Daenerys but Tyrion has the best chapters. I like Sam and Arya but in Aryas case i think that the story is taking a little too long i cant wait until she complets her training and becomes an assasin. Theons chapters were really good in the fifth book and i cant wait to se how his story will end. I would also love if the prouloge chapter in the sixt book would be from Ramsay Snows point of view
ReplyDeleteWhile I do love Dexter and think it has rebounded well in the last 2 seasons, Game of Thrones is just brilliant through and through and keeps getting better and better. Then the second poll is extremely easy: Friends.
ReplyDeleteIts so difficult to choose between Dexter and Game of Thrones! At the end, i will choose GoT ;)
ReplyDeleteeasy for me today: GOT and Rizzoli & Isles (never a Friends fan and though it's not perfect I enjoy R&I)
ReplyDeletepretty easy today, GoT and Friends
ReplyDeleteI like friends a lot but... eh, it really doesn't blow me away. It's a charming show with funny moments and heart, but it never becomes more than that.
ReplyDeleteRizzles is not much different, to be honest, but my support goes to it because we need more shows with female leads being friends, and being badass ladies.
Soo... Day 18?
