The SpoilerTV Favourite TV Series Competition 2013 - Day 15 - Person of Interest vs. The New Normal & ER vs. Homeland
Aug 11, 2013
2013 TV Series Competition Cancelled Shows Homeland Person of InterestHi folks,
I'm not gonna lie, section 4 is shaping up to be a very unpredictable section of the competition to be in, with my personal picks for most likely to reach the later stages, Arrow, The Vampire Diaries and Chuck all biting the dust at the first attempt. Just goes to show how popular so many shows are, and how difficult it is to call a winner.
Today sees one of last seasons most consistent performer, Person of Interest challenging a show that has already bitten the dust after only one season, The New Normal. We also have a show that lasted a massive fifteen years on a primetime network (no mean feat) ER challenging the current baby of the Emmys and the other awards in Homeland. Both have a lot of popularity, so it should make for an entertaining bout.
For anyone who missed the rules, here they are again:
1) Two shows will go into battle in a poll, where after exactly 24 hours, the leading show will win the battle and will progress into the next round.
2) Vote for you favourite, spread the word with your friends & fans.
3) Comment on what you voted for on in the comments below.
4) Have fun. This is a friendly & competitive competition.
Here we go...
Person of Interest vs. The New Normal
ER vs. Homeland
The Draw
Enjoy the battle folks.
Don't forget to Facebook, Tweet, and share the poll with your friends! The more people that you get to vote, the better chance your favourites will win!
Also, make sure you come back tomorrow for the final day of Round One as 30 Rock takes on House, whilst NCIS challenges The X-Files...
I thought it worth noting that I am aware I've been a little slow at getting the next poll onto the site, but instead of quizzing DarkUFO, drop me a tweet or an email @AdDHarris or adamdharris@spoilertv.com and I'll let you know instead!
Here we go,
Adam

I'm voting for Person of Interest (one of the top five currently airing shows for me)
ReplyDeleteSecond one is tough, as I love ER, but Homeland is more current and competitive in the competition, so I went for that...
Same here. Never watched ER ;)
ReplyDeletePerson Of Interest and ER
ReplyDeleteWithout a seconds hesitation its Person Of Interest and Homeland!
ReplyDeleteYeah,i had to pick Homeland for the same reason.ER gave us so many great seasons and moments that i feel guilty not voting for it...
ReplyDeleteExtremely easy picks, Person of Interest and Homeland. Should be a good battle between the two in the next round.
ReplyDeletePOI and ER for me.
ReplyDeleteER for me! :D
ReplyDeletePerson of Interest & Homeland.
ReplyDeleteThat wasn't too difficult.
Easily Person of Interest and Homeland.
ReplyDeletePerson of Interest and ER
ReplyDeleteHomeland is a great show but so was ER and it was great for years. If Homeland can put a few more excellent seasons under its belt I'd gladly revisit my decision.
This was an easy choice for me becaus i love Person of interest and Homeland and i dont even watch the other 2 shows
ReplyDeleteE.R. for me, one of my all time favourites:)
ReplyDeleteVery easy choices today. Person of Interest and Homeland!
ReplyDeletePerson of Interest!!!!!! And Homeland. ER had a lot of good seasons, but I like Homeland's capacity for twisty plots and unconventional main characters.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely "Person of Interest" & "Homeland" but if these shows become rivals for the next round, it'd be a very difficult choice (at least for me).
ReplyDeletePOI was easy pick, tried Homeland and did not like it, so ER is my pick.
ReplyDelete1st Poll: Watch both shows, TNN is a cute comedy but it has nothing on POI.
ReplyDelete2nd Poll: Voted for Homeland, never seen ER. Just finished S1 today and the finale was intense!
person of interest and homeland for me.
ReplyDeleteEasy for me today, POI and Homeland, I'm not into medical shows, and I don't know the other show.
ReplyDeleteOK, Person of Interest.
ReplyDeletePerson of Interest & Homeland
ReplyDeleteBy far the easiest poll. Person of Interest (one of the best shows currently on the air) and Homeland (while I may not love it as much as some, it is exceptionally smart).
ReplyDeletePerson of Interest IMHO one of the best written shows on TV right now. Can't decide between Homeland and ER. Homeland had an extremely compelling first season but I got bored about 3 eps into season 2. ER eventually lost me as well but it took quite a bit longer.
ReplyDeletePerson of Interest is my only vote as it is the only show I watch.
ReplyDeletePOI by a very wide margin, and a tougher one for the second.... as much as I love Homeland and it's outstanding performances, I have to go with ER for it's 15(?) seasons of sustained excellence.. some of the latter seasons were uneven, but the entire run as a whole was great imho, and introduced/reinforced/made stars of (at least for me): Anthony Edwards, Julianna Marguiles, Noah Wylie, Sherry Stringfield, Ming Na Wen, Laura Innes, Parminder Nagra, and so many more including some guy named George Clooney....
ReplyDeleteI voted for POI, even though I don't watch or enjoy it and only made it through about ten minutes of one episode based on The New Normal being endlessly more painful to endure- worse because I care enough about the cause to sacrifice a little in writing quality and entertainment. NOT THAT MUCH. Shudders.... Awful, awful. Hate Murphy.
ReplyDeleteAs for ER vs. Homeland, I went with Homeland because I'm a sucker for a Showtime series about a dysfunctional protagonist.
Person Of Interest- Homeland
ReplyDeleteX
I have come to love Person Of Interest. Actually I liked it from the first moment.
I'm a pilot person. If the pilot is quirky enough to draw me in, then I'm usually hooked on the whole series.
For me it's the characters that make a show
Interesting characters can elevate a mediocre show and bland casting can ruin even the best of premises..
In this case both characters are coinvolging in two different ways; both with secrets, both actors perfect for the roles they are playing. Then I love how two so different men have built up a caring and symbionic bond.

I'm not a fan of hospital dramas. They are too depressing for me. I like imaginative shows that push the boundries of our daily life.
I've never seen Homeland but I liked Damian Lewis in Life. I was sorry it was cancelled, so I'll give my vote to Homeland.
Just POI, it's the only show I watch out of the four
ReplyDeleteThe easiest options yet,
ReplyDeletePerson of interest(the god of drama shows)
Homeland(the most realistic terror drama)
Homeland. Dont watch the rest though POI is on my list.
ReplyDeletei voted for POI. Its by far the best show ever. I hope POI wins:)
