I wish I could say I'm upset...but I'm not. I tuned in for the first episode this season and had no desire to watch the rest. The Jim and Callie relationship was WAY too annoying to tolerate. Jim always having to bend over backwards to make Callie happy really irritated me.
It was pathetic. It was all about Callie for three whole seasons, with Jim waiting for her to actually make a decision, and they made a big deal over Callie leaving her job to be with him.
Jim/Callie were the BEST part of the show. The problem was with the writing of the show. The writers prefer to go for the OMG factor over good story telling. Instead of coming up with original material, they do the predictable material.
Hmmm, the show was on my watchlist, but after reading here it ended on a cliffhanger, I guess it's not worth it to start watching just to be dissapointed and frustrated in the end ... I really hate it when shows end on a cliffhanger.:-/
This is what makes fans so mad at a network, they don't pull the plug soon enough for an ending. I was tired of the show any way, but this makes fans think twice about starting a show on a network that does this kind of thing.
You know, that figures. Nice cliffhanger ending, all the seasons waiting for some resolution with Jim and Callie and...they cancel it? Ugh. You'd think they could at least do a short 2-hour movie and wrap up the events but I should know better than to think we'd get something like that.
They first cancelled Breakout king on cliffhanger, and now they cancelled The Glades on cliffhanger too. I'll never watch any new series for them anymore. GO TO HILL A&E.
WTF... I know its episodic with no long term plot besides the romance plot which is basically just drama... but WTF with that ending??? its Alphas and John Doe again. At least John Doe gave us the ending summary. And The Glades writers you should have tried harder then bring back the Ray Drama left in season 1... btw people did you know there were 9 female murders and 4 male murders this season when there was a streak of 5 female in a row it was so not original it was funny in deed but made guessing who dun done it easy. then again after 1 male killer it was back to 4 female killers in a row... that might have hurt them... but even if they had the slightest idea, they should have just let the wedding happen with some small problems at the wedding not bang! bang!
I only started watching The Glades late in Season 2 before moving on to other seasons. Ironically, I decided to borrow the first season of The Glades to catch up the day the cancellation was announced (which I didn't know until after I borrowed the season). Watching the first few episodes of the first season, the main character and the writing was much better than what I've seen in Season 4. It's a shame that Season 4 wasn't written well. The writing was reckless, with the character getting more annoying each episode. Then the cliffhanger. Predictable, maybe, but it would have set up for an interesting Season Five. I don't really understand the reasoning behind the cancellation. The ratings weren't horrible for A&E and cable standards. But I could see the production costs going up and that might be the factor. If this were on the USA network, though, or even SyFy, we would have least gotten one more season (smaller order) to wrap up or a simple two hour movie. It really does seem silly to live us hanging. The writers had two story arcs this season. The first half for the build up and the second half in the aftermath. The proposal/wedding dragged out to too long. We can blame A&E all we want about leaving us hanging, but the writers shouldn't have written a cliffhanger of this magnitude since past seasons was pretty soft.
The fact that Jim would do anything to make her happy, including wait. I know the waiting was annoying for us, but just the fact that he did was so sweet.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Damn you A&E!!! DAMN YOU TO HELL!!! WHO SHOT JIM???????
ReplyDeleteNow this was thunder from a clear sky. COME ON A&E this is stupid!!!!
ReplyDeleteAre you serious? After that cliffhanger of a finale? I hope we at least get an episode to fix that mess they left.
ReplyDeleteDon't count on it
ReplyDeleteI hate it when they do that.

ReplyDeleteI thought that was adorable.

ReplyDeleteI did not like Callie from the first, she was so whiny about everything. Wish it had been her shot, that would have been great way to end the series.
ReplyDeleteThe show ended on a cliffhanger huh? *burp* Totally worth it.
ReplyDeleteSeriously?!
ReplyDeleteThey can't F-ing do that?
WTF!!!!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteOh That sucks! I hope it is not true false cancellations have happened before.

ReplyDeleteNope, its for real.Been in all the trade papers.
ReplyDeleteIt was pathetic.

and Matt Passmore tweeted.
ReplyDeleteAt least then we wouldn't have this cliffhanger.
ReplyDeleteWell good I can clear up some space on my DVR. No point watching if it has been prematurely cancelled.

ReplyDeleteShame. I had only watched S1 then fell behind.
ReplyDeleteBut it was on my "catch up" list. Now I think I might not even bother....
Yes but at least some of the above shows didn't end on a cliffhanger or got a chance to give us some closure.

ReplyDeleteIt was the Cancellation Bear. KIDDING.
ReplyDeleteThe relationship or the waiting?
ReplyDeleteThey just did.
ReplyDeleteHe didn't seem too torn up about it.
