Q. What can you tell ‘Supernatural’ readers about episode one of Season 9 – ‘Devil May Care’? Can you spill a little something to get us through this hiatus?
A: Although I got the honor of directing the first episode of Season 9 it will air second due to actor availability (one of the guest stars was only available the first 2 days of the episode so we had to shoot him out) - It picks up right where the season premiere leaves off, and the season premiere picks up right where the season 8 finale leaves off! (unlike the one year gap between S7 and S8). Sam has been "cured" and the boys resume their lives as if the trials that Sam endured in S8 never affected him. We'll find out how he made this miraculous recovery in the premiere episode. The boys get word of a few of their hunter contemporaries that have been taken hostage by a familiar face from Season 8. He/She leads them to a spot outside Eugene, Oregon so He/She can get info about where Crowley is. How He/She is able to take hunters as hostages is a big part of the episode; by the recruiting of demons and getting them to "Be All That They Can Be!"
Q. Have you or other crew members had the chance to take “Baby” out for a ride?
A. Unless you are a member of the Teamsters union and more specifically Jeff Budnick (picture car coordinator) or Frank Penko (on-set picture car wrangler) or you play a character named "Dean" you can't/shouldn't drive any of the classic Impalas! There are many great joy-ride stories that Jensen has racked up over the seasons and I personally witnessed a great power slide in the rain when we asked him to quickly "go back to one" (reset) the car for another take during last season's "Taxi Driver!" Horsepower plus a captive crew/audience equals "Stunt driver" Ackles!

If he was cured automatically that isn't a surprise, so that trial is now not lurking?. And if not automatically who would've-Crowley? and is it for real? and I got too many other questions lol
ReplyDeleteThe hunters sound interesting and it appears to be they may be in SPN for a while.
I'm not surprised Crowley escapes somehow-he's a snake haha but the hunter knowing stuff is intruging. The guest actor seems to be Kevin and I'm thinking...
Devil may care is referring to Crowley (you would think-king of hell). Crowley is affected and he just backed off is my theory, possibly curing Sam and get over his embarassment lol.
Sam got to have powers returning it seems like it, yea?. Dean is a little mysterious but I feel Dean got a great storyline, and if it was told it could spoil everything.
Look forward soo much :)
I have the feeling He/She is a demon named Abaddon ;)
ReplyDeleteWhere does it say Crowley escapes? He's still held captive by the Winchesters.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the "stunt driver" will be in the bonus material, that would make me more interested in getting the season 8 disk. I really need something more than just to fill out my set of seasons. SPN bonus material is usually worth the price of the disk.
ReplyDeleteI just assume because of what the description says. It may not be dramatic as escapes but he isn't sticking around either by the sounds if a hunter haveto tell his whereabouts.
ReplyDeleteI think you're misunderstanding the article a little. The hunters don't know where Crowley is. He/She is just using them as bait for Sam & Dean because Crowley is still with them.
ReplyDeleteI just second read it through at 1:00am and I think you could be right but regardless Crowley isn't always going to be around (and I'm thinking that). Well I hope these hunters are nice to the winchesters ;)
ReplyDeleteHe/she is I'm guess abbadon. Crowley probably helpes cure Sam since he's half cured himself
ReplyDeleteIndeed I believe too
ReplyDeleteagree with abbadon since she have to play a role this season.
ReplyDeleteIt won't be the same actress though. They have said it will be someone else playing Abbadon.
ReplyDeleteI know but its a bugga though just hope this actress is the same potential :)
ReplyDeleteI'll hope, but some actors/actresses just put their stamp on a role. Alaina Huffman did that with Abbadon and Chris Heyerdahl did with Alastair. And, for me, Nicki Aycox did with Meg.
