Scene Of The Week - August 4, 2013 - *POLL*

A weekly feature in which we're trying to find most compelling, best acted, written, directed and just generally great scenes that we've seen recently.

BURN NOTICE, "Nature of the Beast", August 1, 2013, Actors: Gabrielle Anwar, Coby Bell
The Scene: Fiona talks to Jesse about Maddie
A Dahne:
Fiona tells Jesse they cannot go on the CIA's mission until she talks to Maddie, who questions Fi putting the mission over her relationships. I love how close Maddie and Fiona have gotten over the years and this conversation showed how much of a mother-daughter bond they have now. Maddie wants Fi to be happy and to not let the CIA ruin her life like it has ruined her son's, if that means her being with Carlos then so be it.

DEXTER, "This Little Piggy", July 28, 2013, Actors: Michael C. Hall, Jennifer Carpenter, Charlotte Rampling
The Scenes: Dexter, Vogel and Deb on the boat & Deb and Dexter in therapy & Dr. Vogel impersonates A.J. Yates' mother
Sharon Seymour:
The end scene with Dexter, Vogel and Debs on the boat disposing of the body.
DarkUFO: First scene with Deb and Dex in therapy with Dr.Vogel.
Darth Locke: Dr. Vogel shows some chops when she impersonates A.J. Yates' mother to try and disrupt Yates' digit-breaking ritual, which would inevitably lead to Vogel's death. I chose this scene because it was interesting to see Vogel show another side to herself. It was a great performance by Charlotte Rampling, but also the scene reminded me of season 4's Arthur Mitchell, and also flashback scenes of Dolarhyde's abusive grandmother in the film "Red Dragon".
Alex Zhora: Though "Dexter" never gains its striking momentum in a pretty much standard episode, scene on the boat is a terrific way to end the story arc.

MISTRESSES, "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner", July 29, 2013, Actors: Alyssa Milano, Jes Macallan
The Scene: Joss implies Savi is like a mother to her
Klutzy Girl:
After their mother disappoints her, Joss implies Savi is her mother. That was just a really sweet scene.

PRETTY LITTLE LIARS, "The Guilty Girl's Handbook", July 30, 2013, Actor: Janel Parrish
The Scene: Mona confesses to killing Wilden
Jamie Coudeville:
Didn't see this coming, but something in her earlier scenes with Hanna made me think that she knew more about the murder. So did she confess so that Hanna wouldn't, or did she actually do it?
Diana Mack: The final scene at the police office. We think Hanna is going to confess she killed Walden to save her mother, but then the liars find it's Mona actually! Why did she take Hanna's place by taking the blame? Maybe she has second purposes?

RAY DONOVAN, "The Golem", July 28, 2013, Actor: Elliott Gould
The Scene: Ezra plays host to Micky Donovan
Darth Locke:
Ezra'a trippy scenes while playing host to Micky Donovan.

RIZZOLI AND ISLES, "Somebody's Watching Me", July 30, 2013, Actor: Angie Harmon
The Scene: Jane busts the woman who was suing her
Jamie Coudeville
: That woman was getting on my nerves, so I'm glad Jane got to bust her. But seriously, that was all for her apartment?

SUITS, "Unfinished Business", July 30, 2013, Actors: Patrick J. Adams, Meghan Markle
The Scene: Mike asks Rachel to be his girlfriend
Justyna Kubica:
This week I've chosen 3 scenes: emotional, tragic one, intense fight and revelation and a very sweet scene. This is the third one. There are so many issues between the characters of Suits right now, so it's nice to see that at least some of them are doing fine. And what a lovely gesture of Mike, to officialy ask Rachel to be his girlfriend and to do that on his knees. Their scenes this season got a lot better from the viewer's point of view, at least in my opinion. They actually work together well and don't have to constantly fight or sth in order to be interesting. So I'm hoping it's gonna stay like that for a while. I think it's pretty cool how Mike, Harvey, Rachel and Donna are finally on the same side again. Go team!

TEEN WOLF, "The Girl Who Knew Too Much", July 29, 2013
The Scenes: Lydia is revealed to be a banshee & Jennifer is revealed to be the Darach & Stiles tells his dad the truth & Scott and Stiles try to save Stiles' dad
Justyna Kubica:
To be perfectly honest my favorite scene is pretty much the entire last sequence from the moment Lydia is attacked til the last shot of the episode. I just love the way it was filmed and played by everyone. And dramatic music in the background really makes it all look special. But, since everyone picked their best moment of this longer bit, I just felt like the revelation of who/what Lydia is also deserves the spot. I mean, what a great idea, I didn't see this one coming, at all. A banshee! Original, interesting, out-of-the-box idea. I was thinking that Lydia will turn out to be some kind of psychic, so color me impressed! Also, I really loved how every werewolf could hear Lydia's scream, even Derek in the hospital, it was a great shot! And after this part, the entire Jennifer's (Darach!!) fight with Stiles' dad and Scott and Stiles trying to help him... So intense and brilliant stuff! I cannot wait to see what's gonna happen next and I hope Stiles' dad is gonna be fine. I really like this guy!
Jamie Coudeville: Jennifer is the Darach. I know a lot of people saw this coming, but I did not. I was completely convinced it would either be Lydia, Scott's boss or the guidance counsiler. I hope they don't kill her off, I actually like her.
Klutzy Girl: Stiles finally tells his dad the truth. I've been waiting a long time for that reveal and I loved it! Plus, there's a line where after it's clear Papa Stilinski doesn't believe him, Stiles slips and calls him "Daddy". That hurt.
A Dahne: Stiles tries to tell his father about werewolves via a chessboard. I love Sheriff and Stiles scenes and this one had some of the best dialogue of the night. They delivered 3 seasons of Teen Wolf so far in one brief scene, highlighting how confused Sheriff was and how earnest Stiles was. Bringing Stiles' dad into the loop was a great decision. I prefer this scene to the more popular one in the hospital because it was funny instead of heartbreaking.
Diana Mack: Scott and Stiles try to save Stiles' father but when they enter in the classroom, they find he's gone. Stiles's expression was priceless!

THE BRIDGE, "Maria of the Desert", July 31, 2013, Actors: Diane Kruger, Demián Bichir, Matthew Lillard
The Scenes: Ransom exchange & Sonya and Marco go to pick up Daniel Frye
Sharon Seymour:
The whole ransom exchange scene leading up to the discovery of the FBI agent in the dumpster.
DarkUFO: Sonya and Marco go to pick up Daniel Frye and find him drunk and passed out at some womens house and then proceeds to throw up.

THE FOSTERS, "Vigil", July 29, 2013, Actors: Teri Polo, Sherri Saum
The Scene: Stef proposes to Lena
Klutzy Girl:
Stef wakes up and proposes to Lena. That scene was so cute!

THE KILLING, "Six Minutes", July 29, 2013, Actors: Mireille Enos, Peter Sarsgaard
The Scene: Linden watches Seward's execution
Alex Zhora:
The show produces a haunting, Kieślowski-esque scene in a depressing yet very best episode of the series.

TRUE BLOOD, "In the Evening", July 28, 2013, Actors: Alexander Skarsgård, Lucy Griffiths
The Scene: Nora dies in Eric's arms
Justyna Kubica:
For the record, I can't really call this my favorite (as in "I wanna keep watching it") scene, but it feels important enough for me to want to place it in the article. I know that some people had a problem with Nora, but I actually liked her character and I'm a fan of Lucy Griffiths since Robin Hood (by the way, that one still hurts!) so I'm quite sad that she's gone. But what makes this scene especially painful is just how heartbreaking it was for Eric to see his "sister" dying. What a different side of our favorite Viking we got to watch in this scene. Kudos to Alexander and Lucy for their great performances here!
Darth Locke: Although I'm sad to see Nora go, I felt that her full-circled death marks a change in tide in relation to many of character's belief systems that we have started to see over the course of the season, but now more importantly, it may forever change Eric's outlook.
Diana Mack: The whole scene was heartbreaking. No needs any further words to describe Eric's pain.

UNDER THE DOME, "The Endless Thirst", July 29, 2013, Actors:
The Scene: Big Jim and Angie talk about Junior & Rose is attacked and killed
Sharon Seymour:
Big Jim and Angie have a chat about Junior and how if she keeps quiet she will be looked after.
DarkUFO: Rose is attacked and killed.
A Dahne: The brothers kill Rose for meat. Technically this scene is more the most intense scene instead of my favorite, but it earns its place here. We finally see people completely out of control and to watch one of the characters I liked brutally beaten to death for something we take for granted really hit home how trapped the people of Chester's Mill really are
