The actor will guest-star as John Franklin Fry, “a hard-ass, whip smart Texas Ranger who allies with Miles,” describes Kripke.
Beaver’s installment, titled “One Riot, One Ranger,” marks new consulting producer and ex-Supernatural scribe Ben Edlund’s first writing credit on the show (alongside co-EP David Rambo). The episode will air in mid-October.

I just gasped in excitement. Fuck yes! I am so excited for this.
ReplyDeleteGreat news.
ReplyDeleteOMG YES!
ReplyDeleteI don't see it as a good fit: the closer Revolution gets to The Walking Dead and the farthest from Supernatural the better IMO.
ReplyDeleteThey won't event let Edlund write his episode by himself ? Are they afraid he might make Revolution watchable ?
ReplyDeleteI love him in everything..seriously, even though he was an asshole in Dexter lol
ReplyDeleteGreat, just when I decide to stop watching this show they cast one of my favorite actors. May have a peek at this episode after all, for Jim Beaver's sake.
ReplyDeleteThis show is lining up some nice guest cast this season! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is so watchable that averages 7 more times more viewers than SPN.
ReplyDeleteI think that Bad Robot often has a lot of co-writes on episodes. One reason may be that there are story drafts outlined before scripts are written? I don't think it's a matter of trust here just matter of transition. Clearly Mr. Kripke brought him on board for a reason and Rambo has been working on this show for a while and maybe is just lightly overseeing.
ReplyDeleteIt's so weird because Hannah's whole orchid thing reminded me of the film "Adaptation" (based on the novel "Orchid Thief"), where he had a small role and then suddenly he's playing Hannah's father!!XD
ReplyDeletePerhaps they are afraid that Edlund will go off on one of his wild tangents and suddenly they will have to deal with fairies taking over.
ReplyDeleteGuess that means I will have to watch Revolution until mid-October then. And here I was giving it up for the abundance of interesting-sounding new shows this season.
ReplyDeleteEven though I wouldn't know that, because I still need to watch Supernatural at some point, I find it kind of amusing since the last promo basically features the nanites glowing like little fireflies or "fairies"!! You may be onto something here XD!!!
ReplyDeleteI could totally see Ben Edlund making the nanites into a unified AI system that would then attack the other republics in an attempt to take over the universe.
ReplyDeleteYeah, cuz everybody know ratings = quality.
ReplyDeleteAnd it's so clear you have no idea what you're talking about when you even think about comparing CW and NBC ratings.
Get it Jim!!!!!
