Skyler and Hank at lunch. It wasn't a scene that made me happy, exactly, but it really exposed where each is, at this point. Hank never gave a second thought to the possibility that Skyler would not want to turn on Walter. Skyler seemed pale (even her clothes were pale), and seemed to be sort of in shock. "Hank, am I under arrest?" Perfectly done. Hank couldn't comprehend why she would think that way, because, at that time, he thought she was completely innocent.
The scene with Skyler and Hank exemplifies what rubs me the wrong way about Hank. He is so self-absorbed. He has always been so, and absurdly insensitive to others except when it serves him. Unlike Walt, murderer and Dr. Jeckyl/Mr. Hyde though he may be, .at least Walt's aware of others. Not so the narcissistic Hank.
ScottA, I rewatched some of season 2, before Walt's 'fugue state'. Up to that point, Skyler was not so demanding and cruel to Walt. She was trying to be understanding of him and at the same time trying to stand up for herself, too, as everyone in a loving relationship should do.
This *was* a fantastic episode. I'd read all the spoilers I could, but none of them came close to interfering with my enjoyment watching it and with the impressions it made on me. BTW, those episode-by-episode spoilers, distributed a few weeks ago? Not worthy, it turns out. Some details correct, but most not and the spirit of the episodes and the show - definitely not.
This was a good episode for Skyler, I really liked her scenes with Hank, Marie and Walt. I also really liked Lydia's violent business meeting, Huell and Kuby lying on all the money, and the musical montage of Walt burying all the money. So yeah, in other words, pretty much every scene!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I would say all of them. Fantastic Episode as always.
ReplyDeleteGod, I hate Skyler. But the scene with Hank in the restaurant was classic bitch.

ReplyDeleteJesse in the park, Marie vs Skyler and Jesse's interrogation. Fantastic episode.

ReplyDeleteLydia -- she's such a basket case!
ReplyDeleteI just watched Anna Gunn on Talking Bad. She said Skyler purposely created a scene so she could get away. Hadn't thought of that one. Oh, that Skyler.
