Walt and Jesse's discussion. It was refreshing to see that Jesse has wised up, and figured out the workings of Walter's mind. So true that from Walter's perspective, Mike would have to die. That scene, coupled with the later scene of Jesse tossing the "blood" money out the window, captured the transformation of Jesse from bad guy to one whose moral center is growing.
Had a BBad viewing party with fanatics at my house. We couldn't breath the last two minutes. The pressure of 4.5 years of intense story was being compressed into that tiny garage with those two opposing, intense forces. Vince threw down the gauntlet, saying "we can start at 11, and blast off from there". Unreal.
It is very difficult to choose one scene. But Hank and Walt in the garage was just so filled with tension. Walt showing who he really was, was brilliant. I also loved Jesse and Walt taking about Mike. I´m glad that Jesse realized that Mike is dead.
The thing that stood out to me the most this episode was Walt laying a towel for his knees to puke just as Gus had done. Again, Walt taking actions or traits from the people he has killed, like cutting the crust of his sandwiches after he killed crazy 8 or switching his drinks from neat to on the rocks after he killed Mike. Every time I catch one of these I flash back to the bacon laid out into a 52 in the season opener last year and keep wondering why he would kill Skyler, after all it seems like the first in forever where they have started to get on the same page.
As usual, so many terrific scenes. The Star Trek talk was flawless. They even worked in Tulaberries!
I wonder if Walt has a plan up his sleeve to try to neutralize Hank. Seems like he could -- history of violence (Pinkman), and unstable mental state -- they may be enough to call into question Hank's investigations. Plus Hank is emotional and probably not the best fit right? Doesn't that scenario come up in movies a lot?
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteFor me it was the last few min of the ep where Hank and Walt discussed things. I did not expect a scene like that to happen for another few eps in.

ReplyDeleteEnjoyed Sklyar telling Lydia, in essence, "stay out of my territory".
ReplyDelete"Jesse Pinkman is in the waiting room smoking pot..."

Should be a fun ride this year.
All episode was amazing. I loved Walt and Jesse's discussion, as well as the confrontation between Hank and Walt.
