Finally, a True Blood I can get behind! I really enjoyed this episode and would possibly consider it one of the best in the last few seasons for sure.
Lots of great stuff here: - Finally, Sookie is given some meaningful character development and we see her really struggle with this massive decision. It's amazing how one episode can change your outlook on a character - in previous weeks, she was acting recklessly and uncharacteristically, now it was like although she has changed over the last few seasons, you can really see how she has developed and grown. Good work, writers! - That opening scene with Eric and Bill was just fantastic, although I'm a little sad we didn't see more Eric throughout the episode as he struggled with Nora's death. The ending was a great plot development though! - The Vamp Camp stuff is really coming together too, as we see all the vampires entering the room where Bill saw them meet the sun. It also gives me some hope that the season won't end on the totally unsatisfying note of the roof opening - surely that has to be resolved sooner than that? - I say this cautiously, but I'm once again glad that the werewolf story seems to be over. If the show is wise, Alcide won't be in the last 2 episodes at all or if he is, it's to catch up with Sookie or Eric.
I'm on the fence about Sarah Newlin's descent into complete insanity - on the one hand, it was hilarious and I loved Anna Camp's performance (living up to her last name lol) and the line about Jesus after she killed that woman, but on the other hand, the whole chase scene with her and the True Blood woman was borderline farcical. Hopefully this will open up a very interesting villainous route for Sarah in the last 2 eps - but I actually don't want her to die in the finale!
Not so happy about Nicole's pregnancy and Sam's 'I love you' - it has still been like 5 days since Luna died. To go from losing someone you love to loving someone new and getting them pregnant in the space of a week is a bit much, even for this show. However, I liked Sam's scene with Sookie and his emotional moment looking over Terry's things. All that needs to happen is another of Sam's girlfriend's tragic demises and he will be back on track!
All in all, great episode and my favourite of the season. Hope the momentum keeps up and goes into an exciting final 2 episodes!
Even though it totally wasn't, this episode felt completely unenventful. I laughed so hard with the girls fighting, too bad I was rooting for Ms. Suzuki. I was also rooting for Alcide against Nikki, which caught me by surprise, since I've been praying for his demise for weeks now, can't we just put the werewolves/shifters storylines to bed already? Aw c'mon. Sookie confused me a little bit and the scene with Sam left me spinning and screaming "what the hell, you crazy lady?" but then it made sense and so did her resolution. Warlow is not dead, of course, if he was there would be nothing but a big oozy pile of blood and guts, but I can have his demise next week, it's ok, I never really thought he'd be around for much longer, by this point I don't want Sookie with him anymore. Nor with Sam. Nor with Alcide. Deffinitely not with Bill. And not with Eric. I don't think I want Sookeh to be with anyone anymore. Maybe she can hook up with an angel or something next season? She'd probably go for a demon, anyway, I just really hope the Sun thing happens next week, I'd be pretty pissed if the season ended with that. And that about covers it. Eric sucks. Arlene's the best.
I used to hate Andy but this season I kinda love him. Alcide on his own might be ok but the pack can go to hell, and I'm pretty sure sookie would not become a fairy-vampire, not in the near future at least.
I'm glad that Andy reminded me that his daughter is "barely 2 weeks old" because when those boys came the door my first thought was 'didn't you learn that lesson when your sisters were killed?'
It's really nice to see the Bon Temp residents getting story this season. Liked the scenes with Arlene. Andy's perils as a new Dad are fun and hey we got a scene with Suki and Sam. I'm guessing that Alcide is moving to Bon Temps...though I'm not sure that will translate to me wanting to watch a story that centers on him.
I've know Sarah Newlin was nuts from the first time we met her. But that fight was hilarious. If anyone wondered if she was a bad guy her murder scene was vicious. And poor Jason. I kept waiting for Tara or Pam to come to his rescue. Really enjoyed the ep. Next week looks fun too.
I have to say this is shaping up to be my favorite season of the show... all of my favorite characters have interesting, meaningful story lines and all the characters that have annoyed me for years have really begun to grow on me.. its definitely the first time in the shows history that I have been on the edge of my seat week to week waiting to see where the story is going to go.
Not a very progressive episode, but definitely had a lot of fun character exchanges, and of course Sarah Newlin's scenes were hysterical!
I'm wondering if Violet is a new threat we have to worry about, since she seems to be coming with 'old world' baggage/belief systems and considering how domineering she appears to be. (But I got to say, I hope this goes better for Jason, than the thing with the Warepanthers did, because I really don't think I need to see that again). Ultimately I do like the dynamic between her and Jason verses James and Jessica...
At least Alcide is likable at the moment, but I have to say he's certainly written very flippant this season! (Too bad he didn't kill Rikki!!). I'm kind of interested if Sam will become a parent or not.
Eric, Eric, Eric! -I have know idea what he's going to do now, but it sounds like he's giving up on everybody, Sookie included.
Liked the exchange between Sam and Sookie. Kind of neat to see her with this attitude and not shying away just because it's him. -Also seems like they might be winking at the end of novels with this scene.
Interesting that we haven't seen Lilith again...
Would be cool to see Sookie turned, but I don't know if the writers will have the stones to do it!
Only thing is, I would like for our Vamps and Jason to get out of the camp now...but am excited to see how the season ends, what new thing might show it's head before the season ends!!!
"Would be cool to see Sookie turned, but I don't know if the writers will have the stones to do it!"
I don't know if it's a hope or a prediction but I'm thinking that, at the end of the season, Sookie decides to accept Warlow's proposal and is turned right before Niall finds a way to return and kill Warlow in revenge for his parents.
What a great episode! I'm really excited to see the Season Finale. Anna Camp is amazing as Sarah. The fight with her and Ms.Suzuki was hilarious and the vamps trying to drink her blood lol amazing scene!
I loved the beggining with Eric and Bill also. Eric and his sarcasm in this scene was pure gold!
another precious moment: "How about that you motherfucking monster" lol
Yet another great episode. I am loving this season. The storylines are at least connected, it doesn't feel like we are watching separate shows. One thing that bugged me a lot though was Sam declaring that we was in love with Nicole after knowing her for a week and after having just lost Luna, it seems ridiculous. It doesnt look as bad when we know she is pregnant though, but still. Other than that, awesome episode and I agree with everyone else: Anna Camp is incredible as Sarah
I didn´t like when Sam told Nicole that he loved her either, but when we found out she is pregnant it made a lot more sence. Nicole´s character is not so appealing to me, but I can live with it. Yes, this season is sooo much better. Eric is fantastic, Pam is brilliant, even Tara is worth watching. :-)
I find myself impressed with how much I hated Tara and how angry I was last year when they didn't let her die and with how much I don't mind her nowadays, they've really done a good job!
Tara is a much better "background character". they messed it up when they started giving her a storyline of her own. It really works this season, and just like you I´m happy that they let her live.
I liked this episode. I love it when Sookie is sassy.
I loved Pam this episode. I also liked how her and Tara had that little wordless communication thing going on. Oh and how Tara is looking after Willa in addition to Jessica now.
I'd actually love it if our main characters were able to walk in the sun, that would be a fun gamechanger for sure.
I wanted to yell at the screen though during the scene where they talked about Terry's life insurance policy. I know I'm biased because I deal with it every day but there is no way that life insurance policy would hold up.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

Sarah is completely psycho!
