This show has a bad habit of not unloading dead weight. They did it last season by not killing Jackson and again this season by keeping the twins alive. Why keep them alive other than to delay Stiles/Lydia further? And the love triangle with Scott/Allison/Isaac will suck so badly in 3B
Scott becoming a full blown Alpha and Derek a Beta is going to be a lot of fun, as is Peter going back to basics.
Saw this Friday, loved it. Sad Jennifer is dead, though and could have done without Peters melodramatic delivery in the last scene but I was enthralled the whole episode.
I just loved loved loved the finale episode.....so where can i vote incredibly amazing awesome? XD About the Ep. : - Deucalion's werewolf form was wicked though. He really had a good Darth Sidious impression going on there for a few moments.
- Otherwise, much of the episode was a bit predictable in a good way, simply because everything was set up properly beforehand.
- There were a couple of amazing scenes in the episode: Personally i liked the scene between Derek and Jennifer during the Lunar Ellipse.Everything seemed electrified,he was ready to die for a good cause (or to detain her long enough) and she couldn't kill him cuz she genuinely cared for him....and as she decided to do it it was already over for her. + Scott becoming a true alpha.(...was it just me or did Deucalion look like he was proud of Scott--he had nearly the same look on his face as they let him go..) (..or maybe someone needs to shake me cuz my bad boy..awww.. syndrom(it started with Spike^^) kicks in XD) + The fight between Jennifer and Kali and the twins but I was a bit surprised how quickly it was over.
- By the way, I'm happy that the twins live. (And I hope to see more of Danny next season. Make him a regular already!) However, I wonder how they will play their alpha-ness next season. They still don't really look like alpha material to me, so I could imagine that they will be depowered somehow. (Maybe by Peter?)
- Without creepy smoke and camera effects, Jennifer looked a bit pathetic in her monster look. Her costume looked like a costume for Halloween. ;D
- It's a bit strange that they let Deucalion live, especially with working eyesight. Not only is Deucalion as good a schemer as Peter, he's also much stronger than both Derek and Scott. Their appeal to his idealism and good nature may be a bit misplaced after he roamed the country for over ten years killing countless people. Then again, so far, all the big bad guys (Peter, Gerard, Deucalion) are alive, so it's not really something new. Deucalion is the only one who became more powerful after the finale however.(...but better him than Jennifer also it was totally in character for Scott to let Deuc. live... ) Some people might find it sexist that the "evil woman" and the "more eviler woman" (kali and Jennifer)always dying but then "evil men" living.Maybe next season it's the other way around. But at the same time what would they have done with Jennifer? Like she can't just go back to teaching. XD Idk but somehow Jennifer felt to me like a bigger threat than Deucalion.Maybe that's cuz she killed innocent humans whereas Deucalion let others do the deed.
- I already suspected a lil' bit that Peter would become a real threat again, even before last episode, and I'm more than okay with that. So far, he continues to be the most interesting villain on this show. Now he plans to steal Scott's power and probably wants Scott gone, now that he's true alpha. If not, wouldn't he rather plan to steal it from somebody "easier", like Ethan and Aidan?
- I wonder whether Cora will return next season (i heard the actress is starring in a show on the CW, so probably not.. I wonder who'll replace Cora.) (Derek most certainly will return)
- I'm looking forward to getting deeper into the relationship between Melissa and Scott with Scott's dad. Bringing him to town was really a nice move*ironic*, especially now that Melissa and the Sheriff Stilinski seem to get closer.^^
I hate what they did with Derek and I really hope he will be back in 3B. Although if they keep writing him losing all the time, maybe it's better to let him leave. I really hate that the character has such potential to grow but is never allowed to. Why is it that I always enjoy the side characters so much more than the leads? Not that I don't like the leads, I just really enjoy Derek more. Guess I'll have to wait and see.
I'm sure Derek will be back. . He is my favourite character as well. Jeff davis said that derek and allison will share more scenes together in S3b(tumbler) so i assume he will come back but i don't know...
Scott and Derek are true. But in the end, you hear Scott refer to his friends as his pack. So Issac is prob still a beta but not an offical member of a werewolf pack. Prob will find out more with 3B. Cora is Beta/Omega with Derek.
Scott Alpha - Pack Issac, Allison, Stiles, Lydia. Issac Beta Derek Omega - Pack, solo with her sister ATM or in Scott's Pack long distance way. Cora Beta - Ducalian Alpha - Pack Ethan and Aidan Aidan Alpha Ethan Alpha
"- Without creepy smoke and camera effects, Jennifer looked a bit pathetic in her monster look. Her costume looked like a costume for Halloween. ;D"
-You know, for me it was the dress, I didn't even notice if that's what she was wearing before, but when she was all grrrr and stalking back into the barn, I think they were channeling some sort of hellraiser movie.
I thought there were only 3 Alpha /Beta and Omega.
Alpha pack master
Beta part of pack
Omega Loan wolf, -which resulted from being kicked to the out.
So I'm thinking Derek is an omega because he's technically not running with a pack.
Deucalion is an Alpha without a pack
The Twins are alpha's be because of Deucalion we know that alpha's can be subservient to a main alpha so I do consider them part of Scott's pack (whether they consider it that way may be up for debate) More importantly will we get any exploration of one of them wanting to join Scott while the other wants to take the pact, maybe just instinctual where there should only be one leader. Deucalion ruled his pack with strength and wasn't above killing those who didn't obey him or were weakened that may have keep the others in line. I wonder if eventually it's just wolf nature to test for control. That would be interesting to watch.
Scott becoming alpha was predictable an expected. After all they were working on it for half of the season. I'm glad. I think he'd make a good alpha. I hoped he and Allison would get back together. But Allison and Isaac have a good chemistry. I'm just not sure it should or could become something sexual. Maybe they work out better as friends, you know, like brother and sister. Maybe I'm just biased. Scott and Allison were drawn to each other from the beginning, and maybe that's why I want them to be together again. Jennifer is dead for good now I hope. I also hope it was the last we saw from Decallion (or however the name is spelled). For someone who said had a vision of peace he was quite a psycho this season. Damn. I hoped Peter was a good guy now. I just don't get it. Did he became alpha again when Derek gave up his power to save his sister? Or what did his "Again?! Again?!" meant? That he never stopped (being alpha)? He wasn't alpha now. That he doesn't remember? I doubt that too. His memory seemed fine to me. Or maybe that he doesn't wanna go there again. After all, last time he was alpha he killed his niece and almost killed Derek. Not to mention all the people he killed.
Great episode, Deucalion living over Jennifer was Ok with me. I wanted it that way for a while now. Jennifer as the Darach killed way too many innocent people. As for Deucalion he was just doing what he his being requires him to be which was being a predator; just how Derek said the same for him when he was willing to kill her. Deucalion killed those who got in his way, as a supernatural creature with great power that is expected of him, much like how we Humans kill spiders when they scare the duck out of us by getting in our way.
As for there being to many alphas vs betas in town, not a problem ATM. And the way the Beacon Hills is now with the Nemeton? with power attracting all sorts of supernatural beings in Beacon Hills. The town is going to need people to stand equal to those who come seeking power and come with hostility.
Sad to see Derek and Cora go away for a while? but I kinda expected that of Cora at least. Since she was starring in Reign next season. And with both of them leaving its not a wtf feeling if she left alone then all she wanted was a family why leave. So leaving together seemed right. But Derek would most likely come back he was there from the beginning.
Peter Peter Peter... I knew you be off, you always gave that vibe off each time you lie telling stories or the way you look behind peoples back. Why you so bad?
Scott Alpha yay. Sad so sad Scott sees Allison and Issac happy talking and doesn't show any feels... I thought you said she was the one and will be together you know it.
Lydia with another strong man character Aidan well good for her. But not for Stiles.
Stiles need a girl man poor man can't get a break.
And I look forwards to Sheriff Stilinski working together with the kids or just being involved in the future.
I think the twins are cool now. They're not under the psycho alphas control anymore, so I think they won't be making any trouble. But 3 alphas on the same school? Not so sure about that. Well, at least now we have covered it all. High school aliens (Roswell) high school vampires (Vampire diaries), high school witches (Secret Circle) and high school werewolves. I think what is missing are zombies. I agree that they should have killed Deucalion. It was awesome how Scott closed the door when his father showed up. He's an asshole. I hope we saw the last of him.
Bad boy syndrome because of Spike? Welcome to the club. You also have a thing for guys with tattoos because of Angel? Yes, 3 alphas on the same school could be a problem. I hope we saw the last of Deucalion. I somehow doubt he changed to the peace-loving wolf he was before, just cause he has his eyes back. It's hard to say, who the bigger threat was. She killed innocent people. But then, so did he. Okay, the people that died because of him were mostly wolves, but still innocent.
My idea is that the twins will have lost their power to turn into that mega-wolf creature because it was killed by Jennifer. The twins survived, but it probably didn't. That might mean that they're no longer alphas, either. At least that's the way I'd write it. But what do I know? :)
Given the spoilers that were published beforehand, I guess Peter was always the best bet to be the new (old) big bad, but part of me was hoping that they might come up with something totally unexpected (dark Scott, maybe). Now, in season 3B, they will probably need to finally take Peter down permanently. It's a shame, because a snarky werewolf is a fun thing to have around.
my first thought was…'this is one way to save on the budget'
LOL Deucalion has Derek's arms and is forcing them down and Derek looks *surprised*? Why does he look surprised? Every single one of these Alphas has kicked his butt and the leader of them is kicking his butt and he's *surprised!?!??! bwahahahahaha
Okay, now we know why Peter had that glint in his eye when he was talking Derek into giving up his Alpha status.
I was really taken aback but Jennifer snapping the twinned wolves neck. I kept thinking… "What!?!?! I thought they were going to survive and eek! they killed them." And whew they survived. Scott has an actual pack of wolves at his back. Kinda cool. Watching the after show….it hadn't occurred to me their neck broken in their twinned form could have a permanent effect.
Loved Scott closing his bedroom door in his Dad's face.
Extremely annoyed by the fact that they let Deucalion off so easily.
I just thought right now that when they have to take down Peter Scott can't do it or he would loose all his power. Not only the apha status cuz Peter was the one who scratched(or bit?I don't remember) him. Am i right? Or is it different now that he is a true alpha?
I liked the episode - I thought many episodes earlier in the season were awesome, but the finale was just good. I didn't like how Scott was able to break the ash line - if they have set some sort of mystical boundary or physics law, you shouldn't break it IMO. I felt that the Peter scene at the end was just plain cheesy (but that's OK, I like cheesy).
Does anyone know why there is bad blood between Scott and his dad? Scott's Mom seemed to be hiding from his dad . . .
Angel is nice but i like Spike more. ;) And you're right Deucalion turning back into the man/wolf he was before seems virtually impossible. So i agree with you. I think that if we see him again he is either still the bad guy or he is searching for redemption and saves scott in some way that will cost him his own life.
Oh hey, you're right! I forgot that, according to traditional werewolf lore, the curse is broken and you become human again, if you kill the werewolf that sired you. However, since they've already killed Peter once and Scott remained a werewolf anyway, maybe they aren't using that particular part of werewolf mythology on this show. Otherwise, things really could get a little complicated...
Me too, of course (Spike over Angel). But Angel also ruined me. Because of him, guys without tattoos are just not the real thing for me. David has several tattoos on Bones (yum. Some probably real. Double yum).
I wonder what Peters role or game will be in the next season.
Hmm … Deucalion searching for redemption could work if Peter becomes evil. Worse than in S1, of course. The big bad has to increase, enhance with each season in order to keep the show interesting. For example Buffy S6 was (to me) saved only by the evil Willow and some of the personal drama and of course Buffys affair with Spike. The nerds were ridiculous compared to the immortal insane goddess in S5. The highlight was the musical. So loved it! Since this season we had Deucalion and Jennifer (both powerful and insane) it's gonna be hard to top it next season. We'll see.
I fucking hate to wait!!! The period between seasons is the worst. Luckily for the networks, some new shows already started and some will "soon".
But last time Derek killed Peter and became an alpha. Scott was just present. So it didn't affect him. (Haha, i should've read everthing first cuz you said the same in your edit!! XD)
Anyone else notice that they tend to let the male villains live Gerard, Peter, Deucalion, the twins, though technically i guess now their good guys. But kill the female villains Jennifer, Kali, Kate, Allisons mom. i kind of find that a little annoying.
As of this last episode, it has become very noticeable, but I still don't think it's sexism. Maybe it's just that Jeff Davis, being gay, finds guys more intriguing than women. Or it's for purely business reasons. As Jeff says in the interview with him and Tyler Hoechlin, "sometimes you shoot stuff purely for business reasons." Apparently, they were originally planning to kill off both Deucalion and the twins, but decided not to, as the season developed.
i liked the ep. loooved the opening scene, the white room one, great photography (though 3x11 is till my season fav when it comes to lighting) my very fav scene is the kali vs jeniffer 'duel'... AWESOME! and i totally cheered for 'julia' kicking kali's ass :D am left wondering about the repercussions of using a smoke grenade against fbi agents (as there appeared to be none) and how the sheriff explained the whole clusterfuck to the feds... aaand peter hale is evil...surprising exactly none. yep. we knew that. ps i hope derek is just taking a trip with his baby sis to disneyland; they need all the happy and fun.
ok i think at the end of 3x12 there's a single pack in town now with Scott as alpha and Isaac (beta), Lydia, Stiles and Allison as members while the twins are...sorta members?
Derek is not an alpha and neither is Cora but i'm not sure if they qualify as omegas (Laura and Derek were just two but they have never been referred to as omegas; they were a tiny pack of two with just an alpha and a single beta) cuz they have no alpha, true, but they're not exactly alone are they? Scott probably does consider them kinda part of the pack...
if anyone is an omega that's Peter. Derek and Cora left and left him behind. Again. and he sure as hell isn't a member of Scott's pack.
My biggest worry is if Derek will be back or not. I really like Derek & I agree with him losing all the time. For once I wanted to see Derek win. He's sacrificed a lot this season which would give him true alpha characteristic. But the fact that he killed Peter to gain Alpha status maybe why he's not considered a true alpha. I know Tyler Hoechlin is set to do a movie & I hope it does not interfere with hi role on Tee Wolf. I like the side characters too... I feel every character on this show is equally important as Scott. Especially, Stiles & Derek...
My biggest question is about Derek & Cora... If their mom & uncle are wolves it's a bit obvious they were turned into wolves by the family. And with Derek being a child in one of the episodes, I'm guessing wolves still age... (I would like to know a bit more on that backstory) Why they don't have a family pack? I know their mom and other members are reportedly burned to death in a fire, which is now hard for me to believe seeing Cora alive & knowing a little more about Derek's mom, but shouldn't there have been someone that was to take over as Alpha of their family had something happened? To my understanding, Scott is Alpha (which I'm glad to see) his pact is Lydia, Allison, Stiles, Issaac, Ethan & Aiden... Reason I say that is when Scott says he looks to his friends & they cut to twin/Danny... which Scott & Danny are not really friends. So I'm assuming the twins are his friends now &are part of his pack.
Yeah, in the meantime I've seen that aftershow event too. I'm didn't watch anything on Monday anymore, because I'd already seen the final episode on Saturday.
I wonder the same question about Peter. Because he killed Jennifer, did he gain her power & is now Alpha? I prefer Allison with Scott versus Allison/Isaac... What does that mean for Scott/Isaac relationship? Duke intentions was peace until Jarrod twisted things and took his sight. I know he's the villain but I have to admit, when he said my eyes won't change & went for the kill on Jennifer, he was the MAN!!! I was like YAY! I knew one of them would be redeemed. Either Jennifer or Duke... Duke knew she could wipe them out but he still had a plan.. turn a true alpha into a killer. I still think there's more to his story that we haven't seen. He came to Beacon Hills knowing what will happen which all was not revealed. Just the Jennifer part. How did he know Scott would be a true alpha? With him & Derek's mom having a close bond, why did he go after her son?
It would be sad, if Peter became the big bad of the next season. I just began to like and trust him. Besides, he already was the big bad. He wasn't that big and bad. So, if he IS the bb of S3B, he should damn better get more powers and be even more psychotic than he was in S1.
I, as I said, also prefer Scott/Allison to Isaac/Allison. But I also like the chemistry between Isaac and Allison.
And as for Scott/Isaac. Well, that depends on Scott now. He's alpha and his word is law. If he's an asshole, he can say Isaac to back off and stay away from her, or, he can accept, that they are or could be happy together. At the end of S2 he said, he can wait for her. I think Scott is a good and decent guy (he's also hot. Can I order someone like that on eBay?) and I think he won't get between his friends. His pack.
I have my doubts he changed just cause he has his eyes back. Why he wanted to get to Scott? Maybe he sensed that he has the potential and wanted to use his (Scotts) power. Someone said, that if he can't get Scott on his side he will make him kill someone to destroy his potential to become TA. Or something like that.
Maybe they all sensed Scotts potential. Peter when he attacked him. On the other side it would make no sense. He would have know that Scott may become a danger to him. So he probably didn't. Derek could have known. After becoming alpha he never tried to force Scott into his pack. The Doc said, he had hopes for him, since Scott was bitten.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
This show has a bad habit of not unloading dead weight. They did it last season by not killing Jackson and again this season by keeping the twins alive. Why keep them alive other than to delay Stiles/Lydia further? And the love triangle with Scott/Allison/Isaac will suck so badly in 3B

I just thought right now that when they have to take down Peter Scott can't do it or he would loose all his power. Not only the apha status cuz Peter was the one who scratched(or bit?I don't remember) him. Am i right? Or is it different now that he is a true alpha?
ReplyDeleteAnd i think,it is a good and logic idea. ;) So maybe the twins are still alpha's but they have lost their power to create the twin-monster-wolf.
ReplyDeleteI liked the episode - I thought many episodes earlier in the season were awesome, but the finale was just good. I didn't like how Scott was able to break the ash line - if they have set some sort of mystical boundary or physics law, you shouldn't break it IMO. I felt that the Peter scene at the end was just plain cheesy (but that's OK, I like cheesy).
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know why there is bad blood between Scott and his dad? Scott's Mom seemed to be hiding from his dad . . .
Angel is nice but i like Spike more. ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd you're right Deucalion turning back into the man/wolf he was before seems virtually impossible. So i agree with you. I think that if we see him again he is either still the bad guy or he is searching for redemption and saves scott in some way that will cost him his own life.
X) hehe
ReplyDeleteOh hey, you're right!
ReplyDeleteMe too, of course (Spike over Angel). But Angel also ruined me. Because of him, guys without tattoos are just not the real thing for me. David has several tattoos on Bones (yum. Some probably real. Double yum).
ReplyDeleteI think the first theory (he is still the bad guy) is more likely. The second would be too cliché. Boring!!!
XD)
ReplyDeletethe title is Lunar Ellipse. and the episode was an awesome mid-season finale.
ReplyDeleteAnyone else notice that they tend to let the male villains live Gerard, Peter, Deucalion, the twins, though technically i guess now their good guys. But kill the female villains Jennifer, Kali, Kate, Allisons mom. i kind of find that a little annoying.
ReplyDeleteAs of this last episode, it has become very noticeable, but I still don't think it's sexism.
ReplyDeleteSpike was my first vampire love and when he beat Angel in the fight I was screaming at my TV. LOL Loved it. Do love a guy with tats also.
ReplyDeletei liked the ep. loooved the opening scene, the white room one, great photography (though 3x11 is till my season fav when it comes to lighting)
ReplyDeletemy very fav scene is the kali vs jeniffer 'duel'... AWESOME! and i totally cheered for 'julia' kicking kali's ass :D
am left wondering about the repercussions of using a smoke grenade against fbi agents (as there appeared to be none) and how the sheriff explained the whole clusterfuck to the feds...
aaand peter hale is evil...surprising exactly none. yep. we knew that.
ps i hope derek is just taking a trip with his baby sis to disneyland; they need all the happy and fun.
ok i think at the end of 3x12 there's a single pack in town now with Scott as alpha and Isaac (beta), Lydia, Stiles and Allison as members while the twins are...sorta members?
ReplyDeleteDerek is not an alpha and neither is Cora but i'm not sure if they qualify as omegas (Laura and Derek were just two but they have never been referred to as omegas; they were a tiny pack of two with just an alpha and a single beta) cuz they have no alpha, true, but they're not exactly alone are they? Scott probably does consider them kinda part of the pack...
if anyone is an omega that's Peter. Derek and Cora left and left him behind. Again. and he sure as hell isn't a member of Scott's pack.
In the interview following the episode, the twins stated Jennifer snapped their neck so they can't form the mega-wolf anymore...
ReplyDeleteMy biggest worry is if Derek will be back or not. I really like Derek & I agree with him losing all the time. For once I wanted to see Derek win. He's sacrificed a lot this season which would give him true alpha characteristic. But the fact that he killed Peter to gain Alpha status maybe why he's not considered a true alpha.
ReplyDeleteI know Tyler Hoechlin is set to do a movie & I hope it does not interfere with hi role on Tee Wolf.
(I would like to know a bit more on that backstory)
ReplyDeleteWhy they don't have a family pack?
ReplyDeleteI wonder the same question about Peter. Because he killed Jennifer, did he gain her power & is now Alpha?
ReplyDeleteI prefer Allison with Scott versus Allison/Isaac...
ReplyDeleteI, as I said, also prefer Scott/Allison to Isaac/Allison.
It's a shame, because a snarky werewolf is a fun thing to have around.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree ^^^
Yeah, it felt like there was no groundwork laid for that decision. I was puzzled too.
