  3. That was sweet of Derek, too bad it most likely didn't help

  4. great episode... I'm glad to see lots of Lydia & a tender moment between her & her mom.

Ms Morale has been redeemed now that I have a understanding of her role
I did not see that the twist of the FBI agent being Scott's dad & I love how Stiles told Scott that his dad was in town.

Stiles was pretty awesome this episode & of course I love the kiss between him and Lydia
There's so much more to post but it's going to be later...

  5. I have to admit, that was a pretty good tv kiss.

  6. I wish I could start a Teen Wolf vs TVD campaign where instead of watching TVD you would watch an old episode of teen wolf, but once upon a time:wonderland beat me too it.

There are still moments (the first scene at the beginning where it seemed the background music was overpowering the moment) where it will have that campy trying to hard vibe, but everything makes up for that.

First did anyone else get the feeling that Peter wanted Derek to lose his alpha ability. I get the feeling he wanted to remove Derek from power, but I couldn't pin point why. Peter may want to remove the temptation of killing Derek to get his power, or maybe the fact that Derek isn't a great alpha might begin with. Maybe he wants to remove Derek from a position where he can protect scott because Peter wants to kill Scott and take the true alpha powers. Either way it felt like peter was playing cat and mouse with him.

How 'bout Peter and Lydia finally seeing each other after all this time? Wanted more but it would have been forced.

The thing I like about teen wolf. Who's the real bad guy. Deucalion because his great plan is to surround himself only with alphas and killing everyone all the way the pack chain or is it Jennifer for being an all around B!tch and wanting revenge at the cost of everyone she is killing in the name of her power.

Loved the real feel of Stile having a panic attack and love Lydia's explanation that she did it to make him hold his breath. It was so fire workingly awesome.

did anyone else "They are opening a HellMounth" when Deaton was talking about how juicing the tree was going to invite every supernatural beacon. Already setting up the future of the show.

Scott's dad isn't dead, isn't a werewolf, In fact I can't wait to get to know him so I can love him as much as Stiles does.

That final scene in the end. I'm trying not to make to much of Issac holding Allyson down as a tether. Considering Stiles does have a tie to Lydia, and that Issac can't hold down scott, becuase if Issac kills scott, and scott is kinda of a true alpha what would that even mean. Allyson could also probably mess up the sacrfice if she could break free from Lydia which is possible considering her skill at fighting people stronger then her and instinct taking over but even my husband is wondering about that chemistry between Issac and Allyson. I just may not want to see it with my whole, Scott/Alyson love (she's been redeeming herself lately after last season in my mind.)

  7. I C so this is how they plan to introduce more supernatural creatures like the Kitsune and more, and why in Beacon hills. why because this is where the Nemeton? is going to be where it has power and attracts the supernatural. I like the idea and the reasoning.

That Attracting the supernatural to a hot spot idea for me was like woa, how the writers been reading the Japanese manga Kekkaishi: where in which there is a supernatural land where is school is located and the 2 main characters guard it each night from the many supernatural creatures coming after it for power and what not. Again I still like the idea of introducing more supernatural creatures, just make sure we still have a power house in the werewolf side.

OH and again they found another way for Issac and Allison to be closer in this episode and what more 2 times? once in which she asked Scott first lol.

and yea that Scott's dad bit was surprising for me too. at first I was like another bureaucrat to hate who knows nothing. but now that there is a link to Scott maybe he knows something of if not he just has some different human side to him that or something different you know for him to become a late introduction.

and Peter Peter Peter? what is you up to? your not gonna go you old routine and try to kill your way at an Alpha in their weak moment are you? maybe Derek in his weak moment, or maybe Cora in her new moment? i see tragic or betrayal happening with Peter all the time. Just be good man people are starting to like you like me.

  8. good stuff, but i have no idea what your first sentence meant.

agree on that Issac Allison thing.

    ReplyDelete
  9. It annoys me that Vampire Diaries gets more money (network wise) when Teen Wolf has such good lore, good characters and none of the Love Triangle crap. Even the looks between Issac, Alyson and Scott have been more mature then the Stefan/Elana/Damon crap. I'm just bitter because I lose out on so much lore because of love triangle goeyness.

still can't get over the Peter/Lydia You Me thing. I think that's a meme right? Definitely a avatar loop.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Scott's dad is a FBI agent who just happens to be investigating the recent murders in Beacon Hills?

    WOAH!!

All this time I assumed that he was either an abusive bastard or in jail.

That was my impression of him when he was first mentioned in Season 2.

    ReplyDelete
  11. BTWubs...Your Dad's in town. That explains a lot about those two scenes with Stiles and the FBI agent.

I'm feeling a little too brain blasted to form a cohesive thought...except awesome episode. So much happening. Loved the turning Lydia's picture upside down. Right up until that moment I was sure she was drawing the tree before it was cut down.

Nice way to give us the heads up on what they're planning for the back half of the season.

Still the only weak bit -- and it's tiny in the scheme -- is Scott going to Deucalion. What happened to night didn't make that work any better for me.

I'll likely have more (and more cohesive) things to ramble on about this ep after I've watched again.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Oh I kept thinking the same thing about Peter. He protested just enough so that when he gets his alpha juice back he can play innocent... 'Honestly, I had no idea that would happen. ' :-D I think for Peter it's a way to get the alpha power without having fight or kill Derek.

Adored the moment of Lydia and Peter standing face to face. He *almost* looked chagrined.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Yes, I get what you mean now. even tho I like TVD, for that show and some others I just have to let a season or 2 finish before watching it. I could not deal with the I like you but I can't stuff weekly. watched 13 episode waited till 3 season was over then watched now waiting again for maybe till the end.

oh man the You Me You Me was epic. definitely a meme idk if its my fake Psychic powers or not but when Peter first said Me then Lydia You i was like this is gonna repeat and it did.

    ReplyDelete
  14. my guess is that its not so much as a "just happens" thing as him taking advantage of the opportunity to see his son again. That was my impression after seeing the expression on his face when he was sitting in Scott's room.

But I also thought he'd been abusive. Maybe he cheated on Melissa? That might explain their anger at him?

Ughh, this might just be the worst episode this show has had ever.

    - Sexist mistreatment of female characters continues.
    - Fanpandering via stydia which was SERIOUSLY not needed and way too creepy, considering Stiles stalker-ish tendendies.
    - Stiles getting shoved into every single plotline in existence. Scott's father should be...well..about Scott, not about what Stiles feels about Scott's father. Stiles is seriously bordering on mary sue and yet again fan pandering.

The only really good part of episode was the very ending and even that had anviliciously cheesy "omg Stiles and Lydia have a connection"....uuhhh

    3/5

Last season and at the start of this season? I would have agreed with. Teen Wolf did in deed do RIGHT everything that TVD did wrong.

Sadly currently the show is way too shaky and uneven and risks of becoming another TVD.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I'm still speechless over this episode

    ReplyDelete
  18. That's the first time I want to say an episode is awesome Don't get me wrong, I loved the season so far , but awesome is an option I keep only when I feel like my mind was blown. And today it was! So anyone saw the Scott's Dad is the moron FBI agent coming? I sure as hell didn't, and I like it...Didn't see Chris Argent going solo either! I really thought they would be working as a team...But it makes sense with this season themes of sacrifices and family, it's only logical when you think about it!And oh am I the only one worried about the darkness around the heart that Doc mentionned? It could be game changer about all those relationships (Scott/Allison , Stiles/Lydia, Allison/Isaac)...

  19. yea. i think he actually looked a bit remorseful. but he's Peter, so he wudnt say he's sorry. (ps. Peter is fiiiiiiiiiiine)

  20. i cant wait for the day u get a life and stop bringing ur negativity here. is there always a conspiracy under every pebble

  21. Oh Jesus, you are at it again. Almost every time I visit comment section on Teen Wolf, there you are, with your sexism and stalker crap.
Sometimes I have a feeling the only reason you're watching Teen Wolf is to bitch about everything that happened in the episode later.

    ReplyDelete
  22. awesome episode! (way way better than the last one; for me at least) i have just one single objection: wrong title! it should have been named 'sacrifice', it was all about sacrifices: Chris allowing himself to be taken so he can locate and help the others, Allison, Scott and Stiles willing to risk their lives and be surrogate sacrifices in the place of their parents, becoming their parents' "guardians", Derek willingly sacrificing his alpha status and power and risking his life to save Cora...

  23. "did anyone else "They are opening a HellMounth" when Deaton was talking
about how juicing the tree was going to invite every supernatural
    beacon."

  24. Normally i stay out of someone elses business.I also get that you maybe just want to help or whatsoever and you have the right to express your own opinion.
But for the most part your comments are really out of place cuz this is a Tv series and not real life. Everything is fictional and even in this fictional world of Teen Wolf i don't see any discrimination.
Do you even know what it means to be discriminated? Cuz with your comments you don't help to recognize discrimination, you make mistrated and abused people feel miserable.
It is like the story of Peter and the Wolf...i hope you know it. The more and often you comment like this, the less people will listen. Also you lose credibility and more importantly discrimination, sexism and those people who could use help do that too.
I work with victims of racism, rape and other kind of hatred every day. So maybe i know what i am talking about. I would / could write you a book here.... i guess i would do that if i could use my native language here.(By the way sorry if my english isn't that well.)
The way i see everything is that we are one world in which everyone has equal rights.(like M.L.King) And we can achieve that by stopping to see any diffrence between race, gender, nationality, religion and so on.
And if there really is any kind of diskrimination than we object.

"this is tv and not real life" REALLY does not work. Its written by real people. Its still set in world modeled after OUT world and the narrative STILL embodies the way of thought the writers use - cue unfortunate implications.

Sorry, this is internet. Free speech. I have every right to be disappointed with the show and say why I am.

Just because I WATCH the show doe snot mean that I should like EVERYTHING IN IT.

First two seasons were brilliant, so its only normal to SAY IT when the show starts slipping, otherwise we will have another Vampire Diaries.

  28. You must be VERY young. Fact is, human beings tend to think in stereotypes. That's just the way the human mind works. Nobody - including you - can truthfully claim to be completely free of that. That doesn't mean that one shouldn't fight against stereotyping, but you need to know which battles are worth fighting...at least, if you actually want to win the war. Otherwise, you'll just be producing noise, which people will eventually just tune out.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Of course, everybody is entitled to their own opinion, I don't like everything about the show either, or about any other show, for that matter. But isn't it a little bit tiring to repeat the same thing over and over again? WE GET IT.
I still haven't seen, through my entire time here on SpoilerTV, one solid reason why is this show so sexist or HOW is Stiles a stalker?

    ReplyDelete
  30. This is what you filter out from my post? Impressive! Ah,sorry i love sarcasm.
And yes,a series is written by real people. But somehow i am sure that it is not their intention to encourage any kind of hatred. Besides everything depends on your own values, attitude and education.

    ReplyDelete
  31. WOW!! How awesome was that episode?!?! I was on the edge of my seat the whole episode. I loved the whole episode especially how casually Stiles tells Scott his dad was in town just as they were all about to die. Awesome! Roll on next week!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Agreed. IMO it is not about the awareness to differences or similarities that we may or may not have. Those things can be physically and semi-culturally factual. IMO the problem lies in with how we treat others, often times based on assumptions, rather than facts and/or just how we treat each other in general.

InvestedInYourFuture surely has the right the complain about not liking something, but others have the right to argue that Television, like many other entertainment platforms, is a medium that allows us to explore controversial issues, especially since most of us are privileged to live in a country where we have free speech and more diversity than a lot of other poorer nations. It may be written a certain way to be realistic about the fact that these issues exist and/or to challenge the circumstance of what the definition of something really is.

  33. That is what you filter from my post? Impressive! Sorry,i just love sarcasm.

  34. I really thought that this episode was awesome! In my opinion this season has had a varying range of quality of episodes-some that were also awesome, good, and a couple that were just ok. I'd say that as we've gotten to the end of the season almost all of them have been awesome.

I sort of viewed last season's (season 2) episodes as each one having a snowball effect. The first episode started a tiny snowball that kept rolling down hill and every episode that followed it had events that built off the episode before it. The snowball kept getting bigger and bigger as more events happened and built up more momentum (and thus my excitement and enjoyment of the episodes and the show in general).

This Season (3A) has been more like a streams and river effect. The episodes haven't always built off the previous ones before and a lot of the knowledge we gained in the beginning didn't pay off until recently. I sort of view it as some of the earlier episodes started a series of different streams that didn't connect until certain episodes (i.e. learning that Lydia had been finding dead bodies all season and screaming because she's a banshee would have turned a bunch of the streams into a river). Now all of the rivers and the remaining streams are finally connecting, so that it's one huge gushing class 5 rapid river.

Anyway I probably am not doing an adequate job of describing the picture I have of the difference between the seasons, but my point is that the everything seems to finally be fitting together and it seems like we're racing towards an epic midseason finale (as well as opened the floodgates to an awesome second half of the season)!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I had the same thoughts as both of you two. That either Scott's dad was abusive or that he had cheated on Melissa. But actually knowing that he's an FBI agent makes their anger make a lot more sense. My dad wasn't around a lot when I was younger and he constantly chose work over family (I saw him maybe 5 minutes a day if I was lucky). It got to the point where my mom told him either you stop working so much or I'll leave you. That finally got him to stop working so much.

That was around the age I assume Scott was when his dad was still married to Melissa. My dad stuck around and it still took until I was in High School for us to actually work through our issues about him being gone so much when I was little.

Scott and his mom are really close, so if it was a bad marriage on top of his dad never being around I would expect Scott to have a lot of anger towards his dad for the both the marriage failing and placing work ahead of him. Plus the way he interacted with Stiles indicates he didn't approve of them being friends (that's my guess) and I'll bet that generated a lot of anger too.

    ReplyDelete
  36. yeah I agree... and I see Lydia enjoyed it the most.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I do wonder what the darkness around the heart implies. If it means that they might turn evil eventually, make bad choices, be driven apart from each other (not just the ships, but friendships too). The writers left it vague for a reason, but for now I have total faith in them. At times I've wondered if they're handling something right only to have them come back around and totally surprise me with how wonderful it turned out. So until they screw it up I choose to have faith and just wonder what the darkness could mean.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yeah I keep wondering if the Alpha power transitions to Cora when Derek heals her. If that's the case Peter may be waiting to jump in the second he can confirm it so that he doesn't have to fight Derek like you said. Derek may be too weak and Peter's shown that he doesn't have a problem killing family to become an Alpha in the past when he killed Laura.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Yep, though she actually seemed surprised by it. It kind of seemed liked she didn't realize that she had feelings for Stiles or didn't realize until that moment that a kiss could be driven by an emotion (caring for someone) rather than just lust or desire.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Yes… I got the feeling that Peter is up to getting his Alpha powers back and if that means for Derek to give his powers to a weaker Cora then so be it. I think Peter, the same guy that knew how to return from the dead, knows more than what he’s telling Derek. He will
become Alpha leader again; I’m still trying to figure out how. Something is telling me he’s going to be the one to kill Cora for that power. That’s even if Cora will be an Alpha after Derek’s done.

I do have to say that Peter is right about what Jennifer wants from Derek; him to fight alongside her and be on her side. She’s playing Derek and Derek is vulnerable right now. For some reason I like how everything is being thrown at Derek and he realizes he’s not really a leader or qualified to be Alpha. However I would love to see Derek suck all
that up & become the Alpha he stepped in the role to be…

How 'bout Peter and Lydia finally seeing each other after all this time? Wanted more but it would have been forced.

I like their interaction and that was so Lydia and so Peter…

My bet is the real bad guy is Deucalion… Jennifer’s unwilling sacrifices make her just as evil but for some reason there’s something missing to the stories. Jennifer admitted to her actions and revealed why she’s been sacrificing people. Deucalion is still covering up the lie. He seem to know much but he ain’t talking aside from the “I’ll kill anyone that gets in my way” admitting. But how did Ennis get in his way when he was laying there dying and he led Kali to believe Derek killed him.

OMG I’m so shipping Stiles & Lydia but I know they are not going to put them together. But I loved the kiss

I can’t wait to see more of the Scott dad storyline. I love how Stiles told him his dad’s in town.

I’m a Scott/Alyson shipper and I hate to give a spoiler but be prepared for some Isaac & Alyson pairing in the next season. (Krystal spilled the beans) I think Scott took that so well and very mature about it. Though I can’t imagine how it’s going to be with Isaac & Scott living in the same household. I like Isaac but I’m not a shipper of that ship…

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'm worried about the darkness around the heart but I'm glad it was explained. I read a spoiler last night and sadly my fav character will be one effected by the dark around the heart. I can see that being the same for Scott too. Isaac/Alyson relationship, his dad in town, and not protecting his mom... I can see Scott being a bit on the dark side.

I sure as hell didn't see the twist with Scott's dad being the moron FBI agent.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Bwahahaha...I hadn't even considered Cora getting the Alpha power. When I read it my first image was the look on Peter's face when he realize that the Alpha power went to a teenager.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Hmm, my take of his interaction with Stiles was kind of the other side around. I had the impression that Stiles was angry with him on Scott's behalf and that Agent McCall was being an "agent" to hold it all at bay for just a bit longer.

    ReplyDelete
  44. The way you're phrasing it I'm guessing that it is Stiles who's affected, right? Would you be kind enough to give me the link to that spoiler? :) thanks
About this darkness I can see it affecting the characters in differents ways. For example I would see Stiles being in some sort of perpetual depressed state and Scott being kind of evil...
Besides I'm afraid what the return of Scott's dad mean for Melissa...They could easily kill her now that Scott have someone else to take care of him...

    ReplyDelete
  45. I didn't notice or think that the return of Scott's dad would mean murder for Melissa... interesting point though I don't see that happening. I sure hope it doesn't happen. Scott dad hasn't been there all this time for him.

Here's the spoiler alert & nope it's not Stiles... http://www.spoilertv.com/2013/08/latest-from-tvline-various-shows-8th.html

    ReplyDelete
  46. Oh right! I saw it! I don't know why but I thought this ritual would only affect the ones being drowned... But I guess you're right it could affect everyone!
I hope that nothing happens to Melissa too!I l like her character! But I'm afraid that they brought up Scott's dad...
I was totally surprised by this twist, but probably because for some reason I thought he was dead! ^^

    ReplyDelete
  47. Personally after the last two episodes, I was honestly underwhelmed. It wasn't bad, it was just good. And I think it served it's purpose in setting up the finale.

Having said that there were some bits that really kicked ASS!
    - Lydia wearing the bruise as a badge of honor.
    - The BEST parents in TV history bonding.
    - Chris (especially allowing himself to get caught.)
    - Stiles!!!! (especially Stiles and Scott's Dad).
    - Derek...

    What I didn't like:
    - Isaac yelling at Derek. I don't know.... I thought that was a little out of line... Was Derek wallowing? Yes. But I think his argument that he promised he would stay with Cora was valid. Also beating him down, when Derek himself hasn't really shied away from admitting his screw ups, was low.
    - Isaac/Allison... I mean? Really...?
(not a huge fan of Isaac this week...)
    - The drowning pairings.... Personally I think Lydia/Alison, Isaac/Scott and Deaton/Stiles would have made sense. Scott was the only person in the room Isaac has any real relationship with, and Lydia is the only one from the tether options Allison had any real connection with. And yes, Deaton might be somewhat of a father figure to Scott, but he's also mentored and guided Stiles quite a bit so my point is that would have worked, and made sense instead of the contrived crap we got...

    Some notes:
    - Morell is officially out of the dog house, as far as I'm concerned.
    - Deaton I'm still not sure about.... I feel he's still hiding something. And I am half expecting him to end up being a mastermind villain in the end. And when I say "the end" I don't necessarily mean on Monday. I mean in the whole story of the show. (this also ties to why I didn't like the tether pairings. I feel it was a ploy of Deaton's to connect himself Scott. That he wants True Alpha emissary dibs at any cost is so deeply rooted in my head....)
    - Peter is soooooooo up to something.... wonder what it is....
