  1. Strong character episode that definitely cemented Deucalion as my favorite villain. On a side note, why is there an addition to the ratings in the poll?

  2. This show is so suspenseful and absolutely great. Glad there was plenty of Peter in this episode but bummed no Lydia. Even though I see why no Lydia this episode. Having plenty of Peter makes up for Lydia absence. I got to see Peter and Scott fight together... YAY!!! And Peter in all black, esp the sweater... YUMMY!!!

So Kali sort of has a heart, but I still wish she'll die already. She's just unbelievably to good at being a Alpha. It makes me wonder why she follows Duke. So she killed her pack and left her Druid for dead is what I understand. I wonder if the two of them will kill each other. IDK who can be redeemed? Darach or the Alphas? I do feel Darach plan was to take Scott mom all along and where she get those powers from? She's been fooling them for awhile.

Derek just can't catch a break with his love life and his women choices.
OH NO SCOTT... Please have a plan to get out of Duke's pack

    ReplyDelete
  3. Just gonna say this, Mr. Stilinski ain't making out of that cellar

    ReplyDelete
  4. I'm thinking that's it for Derek's love life, maybe for the whole rest of the show. Who else could they possibly pair him up with?

    We need more Peter scenes.

I don't think there is any redeeming Jennifer or Kali at this point. But at least we got alot of their story.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I didn't care for the distinct lack of Lydia in this episode.

    ReplyDelete
  6. me either. I love Lydia. I want to know how she is after nearly being killed and finding out what she really is. How will she handle this news? Is it like everything else?

    ReplyDelete
  7. I sure hope he does. Poor Stiles if he doesn't

    ReplyDelete
  8. I don't think there's any redeeming them either... Yes we need more Peter scenes!! I don't think Derek is ever going to have a love life

    ReplyDelete
  9. We need more Stiles/Cora moments in the next 2 episodes

Tense and suspenseful episode...except that...not much happened that was in anyway truly important.

Also sexism is becoming glaringly unbearable now. Now watch Derek kill Jennifer with mistletoe arrow like a Man he is *vomit*

  11. InvestedInYourFutureAugust 6, 2013 at 4:59 AM

I am 100% sure of that, which adds on to the whole "psychological character introspection" nature Jeff Davis promises for second half of the season.

    ReplyDelete
  12. 100% sure that he makes it or he does not make it out?

    ReplyDelete
  13. InvestedInYourFutureAugust 6, 2013 at 5:47 AM

That he dies and Stiles ends up passively blaming Scott for that in next half of season.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Are you sure or speculating? I just can't see Stiles being left without both parents

    ReplyDelete
  15. how u gonna say oh don't be shallow love me, don't dis my inner face, and end up kidnapping Scott's mom after. you are going down for sure, you a killer by going in the dark side aka Darach can't be redeemed. as for the Alphas wtf lol Kali feels some stuff, that a shocker. The Alpha Pack, I can see them failing in the end but maybe still surviving in the end and leaving town for the next bad to come. or they can win or fail, but might end up loosing 1 or 2 more Alphas by the end then the remaining leaves or stays for the next bad to come in town.

Now don't tell me you gonna bring me pizza tonight - but at night not bring it. that's disappointing

aka So scott is to be the true alpha - now don't make him kill or opt out of that by choice.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Great episode but eww at the constant unnecessary accusations about how this show is so sexist, guys are on the receiving end of violence just as much as the females. Anyway love Jennifer despite her being evil, the actress was really awesome in this episode. And Derek was particularly lickable.

    ReplyDelete
  17. If it's so unbearable, why do you watch? Sounds somewhat hypocritical to me.

    ReplyDelete
  18. InvestedInYourFutureAugust 6, 2013 at 10:59 AM

the "said" guys" also live in incredibly sexist rape-culture-driven real life. It takes far more violence to put out mistreatment card than for a gender that IS actually discriminated against.

    ReplyDelete
  19. So you're saying that the gender that has been discriminated against is entitled to payback for all those generations of mistreatment? I.e., women get to kill 2 guys for every male killed until the scales balance out? LOL. You and Jennifer should actually be best friends, with that kind of viewpoint.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Way too many shots of Kali's feet. Her feet claws are so laughable that it ALWAYS yanks me out of the episode for a bit.

Loved Peter's reappearance when the gang arrived at the hospital. "We've got a problem." Love Scott's mom this season.

Odd that Miss Blake came across as sympathetic for me (most of the episode)

However, I had two problems. (1) Scott going with Decalion. I really hope this turns out to be a plan on Scott's part otherwise I did NOT believe him going with the guy. Surrender in the wake of his mother being kidnapped? Before he tries to rescue her? That was too far out of character for Scott IMHO. He has never given up that easily or quickly. (2) So...Stiles figured out the
Parents = Guardian thing that quickly? And why not tie up the plot with Cora? That just felt like it was left hanging.

Loved that we got the name of the tree. Other than that...fabulous episode.

Yes. Gender, race, sexuality that is mistreated upon by those who hold the privilege DOES have the right to have less doubt about being mistreated, because its far more likely to happen than discrimination against privilege holding groups.

    ReplyDelete
  22. To suspect malevolent intent behind everything that happens is self-defeating, though. An attitude like yours reminds me of all those conspiracy theorists you run across everywhere, nowadays. They're always so hyped up, suspecting a conspiracy behind every shovel that falls over, that they almost certainly will miss the real bad guys, when they arrive. Sad, really. By the way, conspiracy theorists are also the most easily manipulated people on this planet. It's so easy to find out which buttons will set them off in a rage.

    ReplyDelete
  23. You are straight up dumb. I've been reading your comments in both of the TW threads today and it's not the fact that I don't partly agree with you (actually, I don't agree with you, but I do find the notion to be somewhat justified), but that you just keep spewing the same crap all over a discussion that shouldn't even be about sexism and whatnot. This is a bloody show for teenagers on mtv after all.

Also, have you ever been told that two wrongs don't make one right?

    ReplyDelete
  24. "So Kali sort of has a heart, but I still wish she'd die already." .... in the episode, when she was talking to Duke and Duke started to walk around the table, did you think that Duke was going to kill her? I was so convinced that Duke was going to stab her in the back with his pointy eye cane of death that I felt really sorry for her. And then nothing happened. :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. If the next episode plays out according to logic, then Derek should have no problem finding Scott's mom and the sheriff. After all, Jennifer told him about the root cellar, didn't she? Her source of strength is the place where Paige died in his arms ten years earlier. So, it's a place he knows well. But, I guess that would be too easy...
Scott is probably hoping to dupe Deucalion in fashion similar to the way he tricked Gerard in the final episode last season.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I think it needed it. There is a difference between Good, Great and Awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Finding the cellar with Sheriff and Momma McCall would depend on if or if not Derek makes the connection that she would need to do the sacrifice there. On the other hand, it looks like Poppa Argent already knows the places that Jennifer would need to kill someone and Duke probably knows a bit more than he is letting on. So, the information might come from a different source.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I think the way it will play out is that all parties will figure it out independently and then all show up there at the same time for the final showdown. Not placing any money on that guess, though.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Maybe I am misunderstanding your comment, but I don't think that our real life culture is sexist or rape driven. I think that there are certain feminine and masculine stereotypes that stand out a little stronger than others. I would agree that abuse can and does happen in our society, but I would also say some of it is gender driven, but most of it isn't.

If you are talking about the show, most of the violence that happened in this episode was guy-on-guy. You had
    -Peter vs twins
    -Derek and Scott vs twins
    -Stiles vs twins
    -Peter and Scott vs twins
    -Issac and car vs twins
    -Scott vs the twins

(Jeez, the show might be ganging up on twins... ;P)

For a mix of girls and guys fighting you had
-Derek vs Jennifer \ (later) Jennifer vs Derek
    -Momma McCall vs twins
    -Kali vs Derek
-Alison and Chris Argent vs Kali and twins

    Guys kidnapping/taking/holding hostage girls
    -Derek and Jennifer
    -Duke, Kali and Momma McCall

    Girls kidnapping/taking/holding hostage guys
    -Jennifer and Sheriff

I would also like to point out that the guy on guy fights lasted a lot longer and had more punches. The girl vs guy fights tended to be very short and didn't involve a lot of stunts. Also, Kali and Derek's mom were/are both female alphas/leaders, Kali is a great figher (Derek even said he couldn't win) and this show has a good balance of both male and female bad guys and good guys. Allison (experience and fighting) and Lydia (knowledge and myth-ism) are great balances at what women bring to the team. The one point in this episode you could say that there was violence towards women that was unnecessary was at the very beginning of the episode when Derek had Jennifer by the throat. To be fair I feel the same thing would have happened had it been a guy - sooo I don't count it as sexist.

I honestly don't understand how you are getting rape driven. For a teen show, there really hasn't been a lot of sex period.

    ReplyDelete
  30. What an intense episode! I really liked how everyone has finally joined the fighting. Logically, I knew that Peter would be fighting by the packs side - but I like how he still really isn't part of the team. He was just doing it to save his niece and get out. He was also still completely cool with leaving everyone there at the hospital so he stayed true to his character.

So about Scott joining Duke - to me it didn't sound permanent at all. "You help me catch her and I will help you get your mother and Stiles' father back." I know that Duke is probably the last person Scott should trust, but the enemy of my enemy and all that. I think he made the right decision.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Yes!!! or slap her like he did the twins with his pointy eye cane of death... lol Did you see in the promo that he's going to stab his druid with that cane?

    ReplyDelete
  32. No, which promo? I didn't see him in the Alpha Pact promo at all.

    ReplyDelete
  33. In Alpha Pact promo for Monday. They don't show Duke but they show Deaton's sister being hit by Duke's stick. I thought it was an arrow at first until I saw the red & white. It's Duke's stick

    ReplyDelete
  34. I think you are right.

    ReplyDelete
  35. You are right and he does it with Scott standing right next to him. I thought it was odd that he had Kali kill her druid and he still had Mrs. Morrel. Guess she is expendable too.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Guess so... hope it's not Scott's doing the reason he kills her. That's going to damage his relationship with Deaton. I like his relationship with the doctor.

    ReplyDelete
  37. YES, that's exactly what I thought would happen!

    ReplyDelete
  38. You don't think our real culture is sexism or rape driven? Oh dear. I hope you're just naive.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I just think you need to take the sexism down a bit. Just relax, not everything that happens to the characters is sexist. I love Lydia's character so much, because they keep what she is a mystery. Just because they don't reveal it right away doesn't mean they wont ever get to it. It will most likely come in much handy down the line. If the writers were sexist do you really think they would give her a juicy story line and make her character a genius. Also, this is a show on MTV that mostly attracts a female demographic. Bottom line…relax.

    ReplyDelete
  40. A certain amount of sexism is inherent to human nature -- much like xenophobia, by the way. It's been bred into us since the days of our hominid ancestors on the African plains. The thing is, you're not going to make any progress against it in silly little rants on the fan pages of shows like this -- a show which I truly believe not to be excessively sexist, anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Actually, discussing it in ALL mediums is extremely helpful towards progress.

Of course, there are always sexists like you who belittle discourse. Best to let the adults talk.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Discussion, as you understand it, involves insulting others whose opinion differs from yours, then?

    ReplyDelete
  43. You're the one who started the insults, so...

Look, calling people 'silly' and using sexist and truly insulting faux-anthropological 'info' is not really a differing opinion. It's just ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  44. OK. I shouldn't have used the word "silly." But "insulting faux-anthropological info?" Humanity's past history does not suggest to you that xenophobia (of which sexsim is only a facet, as I see it) has always been a part of human society? My point is: This show is not extreme, in that regard.

    ReplyDelete
  45. No, actually it doesn't suggest that at all. Because first of all, learned traits are just that, LEARNED, not a part of 'human nature'. And to say that xenophobia, which is, of course, completely separate from sexism, has always been a part of human society greatly reduces the historical socio-political contexts that are necessary to examine each and every culture and society individually. Painting history with the broadest of brushes just ignores SO much data that it can't possibly be correct. Though I hesitate to ascribe anything to an ingrained human nature beyond the most basic of 'id'-type functions, you'd be more correct in theorizing that xenophobia is more likely to fall towards a desire for power than asserting that such things are natural.

People can talk about sexism where they see it. Just because it's 'not extreme' doesn't mean it's not there no that it doesn't deserve to be spoken of.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Don't sexism and xenophobia both involve aspects of fear (of that which we don't understand), as well as aspects of power (a desire for domination)? That's why, to me, they're related. And... Sure, you can and should talk about sexism. But shouldn't one concentrate one's efforts on those battles which are truly critical. Otherwise, don't you risk losing sight of the forest

    ReplyDelete
  47. No, because analogies aside, constant microaggressions are just as important to raise awareness of as large scale assaults.

That comment about sexism and xenophobia sounds a lot more like a logical fallacy wherein because sometimes sexism and xenophobia involve aspects of fear that they are therefore based on them and thus similar. I have a fear of spiders but that doesn't make it the same as sexism or racism.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I disagree. The instinctive human reaction toward the object of one's fear is to either eradicate it or to attempt to subjugate it. Does the latter sound familiar? Aren't most men who abuse women actually afraid of women? Anyway, this is a fan page, so I'm going to stop here. I'd rather speculate on whether Stiles will eventually become a druid, if that's all right with you. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Wow, those are some serious fallacies and incorrect statements.

I'd suggest some reading in the genre of gender history.

Considering you started the conversation by defending your sexism, you do what you want.

  50. InvestedInYourFutureAugust 6, 2013 at 6:27 PM

I can 100% see that happening, considering how Jeff Davis talks about the character and the whole Season 3b.

    ReplyDelete
  51. InvestedInYourFutureAugust 6, 2013 at 6:55 PM

What makes Peter and Gerard so worthy of surviving and
being brought back from the dead, while supposedly making Kali and
    Jennifer "irredeemable"?

hypocrisy at its best, considering Peter Hale's motivation was identical to Jennifer's..except that, oh I don't know, Peter, also spent a WHOLE EXTRA SEASON abusing Lydia (which show still has yet to address too sadly..).

    ReplyDelete
  52. Just one last comment. You should read up on recent findings in the field of evolutionary biology, which do suggest that much of our social behavior is, in fact, genetically ingrained in us...and other primates. This is not something I dreamed up out of of wishful, sexism-driven thinking.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I like Peter. I don't like Kali. For Peter to scheme his way back from the dead and shed new light on Lydia's ability is pretty impressive to me and bad ass. I never said his actions were justifiable or redeemable. I said I like the character & would like to see more of him on the show. Good or Bad, I like the actor & I like the character. I don't like Gerard and have I ever said his character is redeemable? Nope...

    ReplyDelete
  54. Really? So many posts? What are you (all of you) expecting? That you are going to solve this out? Here, under a poll about How you liked episode of teenage show? I dont think so. I recommend you a deep breath änd return to enjoying this great show.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Wasn't Linden Ashby on set of 3b? I can see it happening (as much as I don't want to) but whom Stiles is going to live with if that happens?
I can see Melissa die (again no), just so we'll learn more about Scott's dad.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I thought so too. Chris should be able to realize where Nemeton is, he's been there.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Your comments are the most ridiculous things I've ever read on this site. You're almost as bad as feminist frequency. Almost. If you really feel the show is so unbearably sexist then stop watching. In fact, you might you might want to consider not watching anything. For your own health. You obviously can't see past your bigoted views and are so cynical you think every little thing is somehow offensive. You're worse than the sexism you claim exists on the show. You're worse than the patriarchy you claim exists and you claim you're some moral high ground. I almost feel bad for you. No. I do feel bad for you. I hope I never ever see shows like you see them because your world must be so full of hate and sadness if TEEN WOLF of all shows is "unbearably sexist".

    ReplyDelete
  58. *sigh* why? why did they have to have that thing were werewolves go powerless during the lunar eclipse? that just made the whole season...pointless. why go to aaaaall the trouble to whisk away people (in highly complicating ways avoiding detection) to sacrifice to get power and then wait for the lunar eclipse when they're powerless? i mean it might make sense if one was to fight them at full power but still why not just buy a gun, load it with wolfsbane bullets and shoot them down? oh wait they're like...5 (they were initially) so buy a sniper riffle and invenst a semester in training how to use it. u won't even need to become a crackshot cuz a short distance -like just on the next rooftop- will b enough, not like they'll have superpowers to hear/see u coming.... oh wait, they don't have ANY superpowers during the lunar eclipse! y even waste the time learning how to use the bloody sniper riffle?! just pay a gang to kill them off dammit! anything would make more sense than trying to supercharge one's self magically! *headdesk* *repeatedly*
and EVERYBODY and their uncle or grandpa knows about this celar and the blasted tree! will someone please remember it exists now?
also, if u r going to go for the sacrifices anyway, y go after the friends/bosses/teachers/parents of people who know what is going on?

    ReplyDelete
  59. The last episode was a bit of a let-down. I assume they're setting things up for a big "showdown" at the Nematon to close out season 3A. Maybe they'll resolve some of these seeming inconsistencies by then. As for Jennifer's powers, I've been assuming that powers. gained by sacrifice, wear off with use...kind of like Green Lantern's powers. They need to be recharged more frequently, the more you use them. Jennifer's powers shouldn't have receded as quikly and as much as she's been pretending, though.

    ReplyDelete
  60. that just makes a blasted gun seem like a better idea! how lousy of a shot can one possibly be that multiple peoplenappings and killings r the prefered solution?!
also she should buy a subscription to dear Chris to that gun range...he was shooting them what? 20 m away? and managed to hit none of them... maybe the two guns r too ambitious for him; he could start wtih one and attempt...aiming.
i mean i liked the ep and had fun watching it but it only works if i'm not thinking about it. and i'd been so happy with jennifer/julia being the darach before that fraking lunar eclipse...

    ReplyDelete
  61. Actually, I prefer the idea of "pimping" those arrows that Allison has been using a little more. Those light-blasts are pretty impressive-looking, but maybe they should use arrowheads that explode and spread mountain ash all over the place :)

    ReplyDelete
  62. now that would be a good, practical idea...and thus shall never occur to them...

man it's like an incompetence convention!
Deucalion's been at it for 10 years and he only managed to recruit 4 people!!!

Julia's been plotting revenge for 10 years and she came up with the most convaluted, long winded, pointless plan ever!

the only Argent competent at ther 'job' was psycho Kate (she hit Derek with a rifle at what? a distance of 100 m? at night!)
Chris takes after his dad (whose end game was to become a werewolf and he went about it by securing the 'help' of a kanima etc - cuz just going to an irrelevant alpha and asking them offering hunter inside knowledge as a trade was not complicated enough to appeal to him- after he had brought a werewolf hunting army in the town and allienated the rest of his family -cuz what would be the fun of being a werewolf if there weren't people determined to hunt him down to kill nearby?-)
