POLL : What did you think of The Killing - Season Finale?

  1. Riveting! The best scene was when Sarah realized it and looked at Skinner while she pulled out her gun, and his expression was "Yeah, ya got me." Now Sarah's going to be in trouble for Skinner's death. This reminds of that movie with Brad Pitt, I think it was Seven, when that box is delivered and he shoots Kevin Spacey. I did find it hard to believe it would be Reddick. Maybe he just seems too lazy to go to all that trouble of murdering. Cool how he found Adrian. I liked that. We don't know for sure about Kallie because Skinner didn't remember. Maybe for next season?

  2. Kallie must be dead. Skinner's daughter had Kallie's ring. I highly doubt she is alive.

  3. I had my suspicions about Linden's ex partner several episodes ago, don't know why, everyone else seemed to obvious. Poor Linden...
And poor Holder! What a mess!
I liked the episode as a season finale, as a series finale? No, I hope it gets renewed, otherwise this is just cruel, I would have preferred a finale like season 2.
Overall, it was a great season, I hope it's not the end.

  4. Great season finale! I hope we get a 4th season and this was not the end.
Also congrats @ Canadagraphs ....we talked some time ago about our main suspects and you were right about Skinner! :)

  5. The Killing just killed me.

  6. I thought the killers were Reddick and Skinner, that they were on that together. I was half right on my guess LOL
Anyway, AMAZING EPISODE. That ending killed me, though. I need season 4 like I need oxygen. I need more Linden/Holder.

  7. Exactly what I thought. That it was a conspiracy between them, and maybe other people.

  8. Excellent finale for the season, the acting in this episode was really top notch and Elias Koteas especially deserves mention, for most of the season he's been given really little to do, but in this episode he knocked it out of the park.

The reveal that he was the killer both Linden's realisation and Skinner's realisation that she knew was one of the most impressive non verbal scenes i've seen in a while. It really showed why having an actor as good as Elias is important in selling the premise your trying to sell.

I pretty much knew that Gregg Henry wasn't the killer simply because it was too obvious so it had to be Skinner and i worried that once they showed it then either it'd be hard to buy or it'd look like they were doing it because they just wanted to shock us, to me last season's killer reveals had a little of this to them.

But because of the performances all round, from LInden to Holder and again especially Skinner the reveal instead gives you a more chilling feeling, you buy the shock that the characters are going through.

Another scene i really loved was Holder's teasing of Linden in the car, the relationship between them has moved considerably on from when they were first partnered together and really is the best thing in the show.

I really hope the show comes back, we need more Linden and Holder.

  9. great ep, but after the awesomeness that was last week's ep this one was a bit of a a come down, mainly on the string of horribly bad decisions by Linden, even though she was in a bad head space.. when it seemed that they were hinting that Reddick or the head prison guard might be the killer, I couldn't help wondering if that all red herring baiting but the writers were pretty good with it. some really great performances, especially when Linden pieced together that her ex partner and lover was the killer... however even being in the angry depression that she went to, I was hoping that she might try to do like she did before and make a call to the station or 911 and leave the line open so someone could hear Skinner's confession (he didn't even ask her to turn her phone off til much later) because now it's just hers and Holder's word and they will have to doctor the scene and cover it up and lie about it - setting up a huge future rift between Holder and Linden. Although believable due to Linden's anger to being duped the ending was a bit anticlimactic (but at least we got an ending! yay) I was hoping that it would end poetically with the guard setting up the cell that he broke down earlier in the ep and enter Skinner on death row awaiting the gallows like Seward was....

  10. in my defense of figuring it out, I had the knowledge of seeing some of the fginale get filmed.
I wasn't SURE what I was seeing was the result of the finale, but it sure looked suspicious.
    Solid season.
My ONLY disappointment was, there was no closure this time. Last season there was the video for the Larsen family that surely helped put some closure on their daughters death. There seemed to be nothing like that in this one. Danette should have gotten some closure on Kallie I think. All we know is she is dead. We don't even know where she is.

  11. She probably is. Skinner said there was more,
Linden said there was 21 (but that was only what she knew of)

    Trish
    17
    Ashley
    Bullet
The girl Bullet got the info from that got burned.
If there is a 4th season, I'd like to see them slide in 2 mins somewhere in the premiere just to tie off the Kallie case. I hate that, unlike season 2 where the Larsens family got a bit of closure, Danette didn't get that.

  12. I can´t say that it shocked me that Skinner was the killer. But on a show like The Killing, it doesn´t matter that you figured it out before it happends. It is the excellent acting that makes the difference. I loved the expression on both Linden and Holders face when they figured it out. I really really hope we will see what happends next. I´m guessing season 4 will start off only moments or hours after the season finale.

  13. This season was amazing. I liked the first couple of seasons but this one was on a different level IMO. Excellent job everyone. I never suspected Skinner until this episode. I got it figured out before they did but not before this episode so excellent job. The acting however continues to be the best thing about this show. It is mind blowing. I am very sad about Kallie, I held out hope for her for a long time, foolish of me I know. I hope the show finds its way back again.

  14. I would really have liked seeing Skinner being led to the gallows. I don't think he'd be any less scared than Seward was.

  15. I doubt Sarah is going to get arrested for murdering Skinner. Other no Holder (who's not going to rat her out), there were no witnesses to the killing, and she can easily claim Skinner tried to attack her.

I loved the part where Sarah realizes Skinner is the Pied Piper. The slow motion scene with Ice cream truck and sprinkler in the background (why do they need sprinklers in a place where it's raining 90% of the time) culminating her drawing her gun on him was REALLY good.

  16. I say that after episode 3.

  17. I knew it Linden's partner is the killer, not surprise, but I'm glad my suspicious are right. Great end for a solid season, I hope The Killing gets season 4.

  18. Kallie is dead. He probably remembers her vaguely, he just did not care.
But how Linden finally found him out, it does not make sense.
This guy is a killer who has killed 21 people minimum and by his own admission a lot more. And he shifts his MO for just one case and gives the ring to his daughter? Even if it was someone who the cops had not identified it would not make sense, but to give the ring of a someone identified as a potential victim who was still technically missing and every cop on the case knew both what her ring looked like and that the killer takes rings as trophies? As the person in charge of the investigation, I don't see how he could have been that stupid.
And as for Linden, I don't really see how she's not going to jail for what she did. It was an execution, plain and simple. She probably used her service weapon so they will match it to it pretty soon. The only way for her to get away is if she takes his gun and fires a couple of shots and makes it look like she was defending herself or if she just gets rid of the body and acts like she was never there. In either case she will probably need Holder's help and she will definitely need his silence at least. In any case, it would look pretty uncharacteristic of both Linden and Holder.

  19. The ending, I personally don't see it as a cliffhanger. We found out who it was and what happened to Kallie even if the other characters did not find out about it. So it's not a cliffhanger. But for a show that got a lot of backlash for ending for the first case on a cliffhanger, I thought they would give it a cleaner ending.
